I completely remove my resonator on the 3.0 cut both ends and through a regular rubber hose with clamps, %100 satisfaction, has way much more torque. Threw that thing so far I don't want to see it again LOL
@@drsoot9760 I've only had my van for about a month now but haven't got to the oil seals yet, it is dripping lots of oil however. My hood latch recently broke so I haven't been able to open my hood. I've ordered the aluminum arms for the intakes so I'll be doing this job pretty soon as well as the oil seals but I've been driving around with it bogging down doesn't accelerate fast I have it unplugged, I did wash the engine bay once and the turbo started working and it pulled like crazy so can't wait to clean everything up replace the parts and get it back on the road with the proper power, for now though I've been traveling everywhere on it and it seems fine just get the smell of diesel when I hit 75mph all it goes which sucks got to get that removed as well
They had a good idea with the moving ports on the intakes, they just didn’t consider what problems they would have once the vans got a few miles on them. Once you get them cleaned out drive it like you stole it and cut down on your idling time.
Good Information I picked up a used 2008 some 260,00 miles. The truck had codes relate to rails stuck in open position. Took all apart based on your other video. Linkages are ok but I have 1 value on each intake stuck from sludge built up. How did you clean the intakes and value heads ?
Hello Dr Soot..... Thanks for the video .. I have a very sick 2012 Sprinter 3500 EXT ... I thought I got a good deal... Until I got it home (In Limp Mode )... And found the previous owner cut off the catalytic converters....And I did finally get it on my OBD scanner... It only has 32 other codes to deal with ... Thanks again..... Sincerely, Captain Ron.. I’ve got one apart in the shop right now. 07. First time. How did you get that turbo off with the manifold attached? The biggest pain in the ass of the whole job was pulling the turbo.
LiveWeyer The best way is to pull it together. Takes a little wiggling to get it out. You also have to push the exhaust all the way against the fire wall. Do not reuse the copper colored bolts, get new ones.
Couple things I left out. Get new gaskets for the manifold collectors and the gasket on the back of the turbo. The new ones come with tangs on them to hold em in place. Makes your life a lot easier going back together with it. Also if you get say a Mercedes reman turbo from Tag it comes with the manifold already on it. Other rebuilders just send you the turbo.
Thank you. This ones got 70k on it, turbo looks great. Just had the actuator code and ports are carboned full the flaps won’t even move their full range. Replacing both intakes one comes with actuator. Local Chrysler dealer $1000 each.
2008 Dodge sprinter 2500 3.0 , freshly rebuild engine , egr system cleaned , dpf deleted , won’t rev over 3000 rpm looses power uphill .. no check engine light ..I am at the lost here please help me out !
All the ones I have done, I have replaced the intakes. But I also have a machine made by BG products to clean intakes. Works really well. To costly to buy just for one truck. Soak them in good parts clean solvent. Best to have your intakes clean every 40k to 60k if you can find someone with the machine.
jacobb dir Depends on how bad there clogged. When the swirl port motor goes bad the vans will lose so much power worse than limp mode. I haven't had any that just lose power from being clogged. Loss of MPG yes. Do you have any engine codes such as left or right intake positions?
jacobb dir With both codes and loss of power you have a bad swirl port motor. That motor sets in the valley under the fuel filter. I have a rough video of how to replace it.
hi With my sprinter 2008 V6 diesel, I have an error code P2005/P2006 with ODBII in the general error code list they show manifold problems but in mercedes error code liste they say the problem of tempertaure sensor. so please help know witch error code do you have for your sprinter (ODBII) thank you
Well actually I use the xentry connect which is for benz and they list there own codes. The only temp sensor for the intake manifolds is the one located just before the intake right beside the throttle valve.
I have a 2015 sprinter 3.0 and while driving at 70 MPH, the air circulation pipe got loose and the engine stalled. Can't figure out the problem. It idles rough and stalls. As soon as I bring the rpms little higher it stalls right away. Did turbo go bad? intake? any ideas?
Which pipe are you referring to? The one at the air box or the CAC hoses at the bottom? Do you have a check engine light on? Even if the turbo went bad it shouldn't cause it to stall.
Once you learn work on those vans they're pretty good do you even thinking what you're saying... money spending truck or a van . These vans needs to be a reliable and work for you you're not supposed to spend money on a van.
Thank you for the share!

Man that thing has been a problem from the start. Leaking oil, blowing seals out. Does the boost sound better with it gone??? Lol

Can you post a pic. I’m trying to get more torque mine is a motorhome thinking about deleting the egr too

Fix them at all cost, but not necessarily replace

Do you know if the van will have lack of power, if the ports on the intake manifold are shut close due to faulty intake actuator?

i got the computer scanned at o riley auto parts, its giving me left and right ekas sensor code and intake port faulty code.
jacobb dir

ok thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. i will check out your video on how to replace it.
Could I simply delete the silencer with a length of intercooler tubing?
I'm wondering the same thing maybe just a simple hose with clamps on each end it's not different from any other turbo intercoolers I think

Why do you have to change both?
Nathaniel Sanchez
You don’t have to, but normally both sides have heavy carbon build up.
