A couple notes regarding the advantage of the SnS top not being attached: 1. SnS provides a side holder which works perfectly to slide the top into. It be comes 2nd nature. 2. With the top in the side holder, It can act as a wind block on a windy day if you turn your grill appropriately. 3. The top can also rotate, so you can have the vent located where you want it depending on how/what you are cooking. 4. Sometimes, having the top removed and out of the way is handy, like when you are adding charcoal on an extended cook. 5. If you use the rotisserie, the top cannot be attached. On the Weber, you have to detach the top. Regarding installing the ash tray after emptying it on the SnS, I don’t think you need three eyes. The first few times it seems awkward and you wonder if you have it in the right place, but after that you don’t even think about it. You know it is seated properly. I’ve never used the Weber, so I can’t comment. It does take an hour or so to put the SnS together. This is most likely the same on the Weber, but I don’t know. The SnS is very stable, but very portable. The grill on the SnS is stainless steel. This means it will last pretty much forever. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with mine and would not hesitate to recommend it for slow and sear grilling, smoking meats, and rotisserie.
Great video. I bought the SnS and have never regretted it. The side table is great. The vent and temp garage locations are also fantastic. The probe hole convenient. The smoke hole is great to use in setting and holding temps. Stable as well. SnS just included many convenient and useful touches in the design.
I've just gone for the SNS here in the UK, after years of being a Weber only man and so far so good. I think it's a great grill. They've not tried to reinvent the wheel, just lots of little improvements that all seem to work. It holds temp so well.
I know I'd go with the SNS because I just placed an order for one an hour ago. Don't get me wrong, I love Weber. I have an 18" Weber Smoky Mountain, an 18" Weber kettle, a Weber Smoky Joe, and a Weber E330 gas grill. I also had a 22" copper Weber kettle, but recently gave it away. Then I watched a video of the SNS kettle and was sold. It has all the things I was always complaining that Weber didn't have; Port for BBQ Guru, port for electronic temp probes, and the temp gauge placed on the side of indirect heat. If Weber would just do these 3 things, I'll sell the SNS and go back to the Weber kettle. But for now, I'll be receiving a kettle that has all the features I've wanted for a long time.
Great video! I’ve been a Weber fan for over 30 years who recently purchased a SnS deluxe kettle grill and it does not disappoint. Currently my old Weber is collecting dust and ready as a back up.
Just received my sns grill today, after assembly I gotta say, this is a high quality unit, love the probe port and the smoke hole, the rotating grate is a nice addition as well, and the deluxe slow and sear hopper is super heavy duty, looking forward to my first cook.
Nice video. I’d have to say I’d also choose the SnS kettle over the new MT. For me it’s the temperature gauge placement, the foldable side table, and stability.
This video comes at a perfect time for me. I’ve been looking at Weber kettles for purchase and now after your comparison of the two models it makes me reconsider my choices. Thank you Sir!
Excellent review, very well done. I would still choose the Weber though. My experience has taught me that unless you're grilling on a hard flat surface like concrete or asphalt the 4 leg system is inherently unstable. Many people use their grills on a lawn and/or take their grill camping and the naturally uneven surface makes the three legged system much more stable. From a grilling standpoint though I'm sure either grill can deliver the same results. It's just a matter of preference. Personally I think both grills are over rated and over priced. Give me regular ole' Weber any day. It's less expensive and I'll give you the exact same results that either of those grills produce. Again, very well done review.
I kinda agree that they are pricey but what isn’t today... I also agree the result would be the same from either of these grills or and other in the Weber lineup. For me the ash can is much better than the little saucer deal. It’s a matter of making the grill work for you I think. I probably would have got the SNS but I caught a Master Touch on sale for nearly the same price as the premium original kettle from Weber with the P vents. I think the P vents to the smoke hole on the SNS. Personally the SNS seems more ready to smoke out of the box as many use the "Smoke Hole” as the vent for smoking without the air systems. The P vent is a nice idea as I think it gives more fine tuned adjustment for smoking but I think it still lets in too much air still. That SNS comes pretty well loaded up with gingerbread when you compare it to the Master Touch maybe about the same as the Master Touch Premium
Tom I’ve watched several of your videos and would not choose the SNS over my Weber Performer Silver…but just starting to see stuff on the SNS MasterKettle. Hope you can get your hands on one to review!
You know I’m takin the Weber all day long. The red kettle and Genesis series are made In China, all the other are made here in the USA, some of the parts come from overseas, however the majority of Webers are made here.
Hi Tom. I've owned my Weber 22" Kettle for 4 years. I've done hundreds of cooks, i donot care for the 2 baskets. I did buy a SnS insert for my Weber and I love it. The vent cover is rivited, cover is flat on a round lid, poor design feature. Last year i drilled out the rivit, cleaned the years of crap that was trapped in there. I also installed a temp gauge on the same side as the vent, works better with my SnS insert. I bought a New SnS Kettle with a new SnS Insert. It performes great. I always use the Smoke hole and close the bottom vents. Great temp control. My question with the hinged top, can it disconnect to allow a rotisserie collor for the weber? If not that is a deal breaker for me. Good evaluation, Thanks Tom. Chuck from the Arizona Desert.
I’d choose Weber all the way 💯 Weber is still a family business as well. The Stephen family still has a big part in the business even though BDT is their majority partner. Thanks for the video Tom.
Yeah, "globally-sourced components " caused a class-action lawsuit against Weber. Fancy way of say'n parts were made in China and some of those parts were assembled in the US. Great video Tom!
Actually, globally sourced was the result of that lawsuit. They always said it was made in the USA or something to that effect, they got sued and now it’s globally sourced and assembled in the USA.
Thank you for this video. I started grilling 6 months ago with a 57cm Weber Compact Kettle, never grilled before and nor had my extended family. Now when looking to upgrade, I'm torn between these two and the two features you wish were on the other are my Kryptonites. The hinged lid would be perfect as I have nowhere to put my lid down and cannot get the hang of the hook quickly, but the shelf would also be ideal as I lack any kind of workspace too! The Compact doesn't fit the Slow'n'Sear Deluxe properly though working around that issue isn't too bad. I take your point about the vents on the Weber not being as conducive to Slow'n'Sear usage as a standard kettle lid would be. I use an iGrill 2 and iGrill holder with my Compact Kettle and that little 'smoke hole' would be handy but it's not a big loss, I haven't had any degradation in my cables caused by my lid yet. The GBS interests me but not enough to sway any of my decision making and that diffuser plate, I'm not sure if I'd make use of that other than turning it into a heavy serving platter. They're both pretty hard to get right now and are carrying the Summer price premium but I think it's safe to say that choosing between the two is not going to be easy at all.
Is no one going to mention available colors? I have black, copper, and blue from Weber. That gray from S&S just doesn’t work for me. Non-issue on actual cooking, but I smile every time I take the covers off of my kettles and see their beautiful smiling faces. Great videos! Thanks for doing them.
If I am not mistaken, the SNS does not come with the slow and sear basket which changes the price comparison. For me it’s Weber all day. I have had a great experience with all the Weber products I have owned.
I just bought a premium and have the hold for igrill and thought the same thing no hole for probe, such a pity. Wish weber would just move temp gauge, one other thing if you have a weber side table, no where to put it because if handle on one side and hinge, lid on other side, going to be a bit of juggling around to ash basket to get it to for :( also ash catcher basket in and is under handle, not in ever
Both look like fine grills but I also lean towards the SnS. I share your dislike of the method of attaching the ash bucket. I find it very difficult and frustrating, especially if you don't want to get down on all fours to be able to see what you are doings and align everything. I finally found an easier way to reattach the bucket. After I have cleaned the inside and while are the parts are out, I gently tip the Weber over onto the 2 wheels and the lid catcher. I can then see and more easily attach the bucket.
Great comparison video Tom! As you stated both kettles have their pluses and minuses... I never liked the three-legged wobbly design of the Weber kettle and that's why I bought the Weber performer with the fold-down shelf a few years ago. It's been a fantastic cooker (with and without my SNS). If I was buying a kettle today, like you, it would probably be the SNS Kettle. I just think it's set up to both grill and smoke out of the box without modifying anything. With that said, I really do like Weber's new bottom "P" vents and the charcoal ring with defuser plate! I'm still not sold on the lid hinge though... Maybe that's because of the hinge and/or vent placement. Again, great video! Sorry about being wordy...
I have a weber and like it for what it is. I think I would prefer the SnS though mostly for the more stable stand. If possible though I would move the wheels opposite the shelf, then I would use the shelf as a handle to move it around. Using the actual handle is really awkward when moving it around.
Love my Weber, but when it wears out i would go with slow n sear. That being said, I think my Weber will out last me. I have the performer series so I don't worry about legs, and has a nice big work surface.
Great video, Tom! I’ve been on the fence about upgrading to the Master Touch Premium. I wish they’d just sell the charcoal ring and diffuser plate separately.
I really enjoyed your review Tom. Both grills have great features but as an owner of a Weber Performer that uses a slow n sear I would stick with the Weber and it’s diffuser plate over the slow n sear. I’ve had longer low and slow burns with the charcoal on one side next to a water filled aluminum pan (10+ hrs) then with the slow and sear (8 hrs) plus I never had to worry about the pan boiling out the water. I also have the sns drip n griddle with is the biggest disappointment when I tried to use it for cooking breakfast as it quickly warped from the heat.
Great video as always...the legs on my Weber crapped out. I have always been a Weber guy but after watching your video I can’t decide. Can I just come pick one of yours? Haha. Keep up the awesome work!
I’ve been drooling over a Master Touch for months but haven’t pulled the trigger. I noticed in the video there’s A hinge on the lid but all websites I’ve seen, even on Weber’s site, there isn’t a hinge on the lid. Ideas?
Tom. I will NEVER have another grill that is NOT Table mounted... Do you think both these can be mounted on a SS table with out much problem? Thanks for doing this video, great job...
Tom I need your expertise please! I am about to mount a temp gauge on my Weber Jumbo Joe and trying to decide where to put it. I see so many different opinions. I see that the SnS grill in this video has the temp gauge right below the vent. And Weber always mounts theirs opposite the vent. It seems more logical for indirect cooking where the coals are on one side (which is how I do it) that the gauge should be near the vent and opposite the coals. Do you have any opinion? Thanks! Edit: Oh shoot, I didn't get far enough into the video where you talk about this before I asked this question, sorry. Think I'm gonna mount mine right below the vent.
I tell ya Tom I have a 22 Weber kettle I have gotten a SNS for it plus the SNS grate. It's an awesome cooker for sure. As you say the legs so have some wobble. If I didn't already have this I would most likely go with the SNS grill. Thanks for the comparison
I’ve had a Weber for 16 years out in the elements and still use it. I’ve replaced some parts, easy to get,the s&s,I don’t know. I do like the s&s design better than the Weber but parts are so easy to get for the Weber. Local hardware store has many accessories for Weber none for s&s. I just don’t know what my new kettle will be
Last year I needed to buy a new one. From your previous reviews I was sold on the S&S. Price was not a problem. When I When to S&S their website said 2month till in-stock. I bought the Weber and I'm not sorry! I really wanted the S&S!
Good video. But with the Weber, even if you don't have the Slow-n-Sear (I do), people still stack the coals against one side for indirect cooking, and you're right back to rendering either the vent, or the temp gauge useless. My observation just in looking at them is that the height of the lid on the Weber creates a larger dome? Maybe more room for a turkey etc?
Thanks for watching David, Good question, looks can be deceiving, I thought the same but when I measured there was only a 1/2" difference with he weber being taller
I've been a dyed in the wool Weber guy for over 25 yrs and I'd still own my first if it wasn't destroyed during hurricane Sandy almost 10 yrs ago. My current model was purchased right after I had to junk my first. I asked for a Sn'S deluxe insert for Father's Day this year, and the wife ("and kids" she says) surprised me with a Sn'S grill w/insert! I gave my Weber, in great condition, to a propane friend I intend to convert. So Weber, hopefully, has a new customer and I'm an Sn'S guy from now on. Beef Back ribs for dinner tonight! (Brisket soon.)
I like both of them but would favor the Weber because I know they will be around to backup the warranty. That said, my ideal grill would be a 26 inch Performer.
You didn't mention that the SnS Grill grate is made from stainless steel, I believe the weber is chrome over steel, pretty big difference. Also, the ash catcher is all stainless, I believe the weber isn't. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I was going to say this as well but Herb beat me to it. It should be 409 Stainless steel on the SNS ash catcher. Great review, Tom.
Hey Tom, buying a BBQ Dragon Wing Self solves the problem for the Weber. If you use the difusor plate that comes with the Weber, I don't think the position of the top vent doesn't matter, but I agree with you that Weber doesn't want people to use the Slow 'n Sear products
Tom, I'm curious about something: the overall height of the lid as measured from the grate looks higher on the Weber as compared to the SNS. In other words, the SNS looks "flatter". So perhaps there is more room under the lid of the Weber then there is under the SNS? Not sure if you could take a measurement. Thank you.
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ thank you very much. You'd think that after all these years, Weber would comprehend indirect cooking and not place the thermometer over the fire. SNS has. Like David P. says, "We didn't invent the kettle, we perfected it".
I built a Cart for my Weber Master Touch Kettle. Seeing how the lid opens on the Premium, it would work perfect in my Kettle Cart. I am probably going to sell my Master Touch and get the Premium! Great Job on the comparison! I did take your advice on the Camp Chef Griddle over the Blackstone and am very please with that choice!
@@randalltaylor3700 Thanks Randall. I do have that hinge on my WSM. But it would lift the lid up too much on my Kettle, also the lid Handel would interfere with the back of the Cart. The premium appears to not lift the lid up as much and there is not a handle on the top.
Tom I want to restore my 1998 22 1/2 Weber classic with flat pan with 3 clips. Unfortunately it looks as if we never put the clips on but I did just order them now. My husband is disabled and I want to try and remove the legs to put the clips on myself. When I try and remove the legs do I leave the wheels etc on. Is it difficult to remove the legs? BTW I have the cutting board that you had mentioned in another video. I did find the year from the year code you had shown in your video which is EZ. Thanks
Tom, I am thinking of just putting a ash bucket under the grill to catch the ashes rather than me trying to take the legs off and mess something up. Do you think that would work or do you have any suggestions. I appreciate that you have taken the time to respond to me.
Hello. Thank you for your videos. In the background of this video, towards the beginning, you have a table / cart that is holding a Red Weber kettle. Could you please tell me who makes it and where I could get one of those from please? Thank you.
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Hi. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I was watching some of your other videos since posting the questions and found you had a video about it - a Weber One Touch Platinum. I didn't realise it was a complete unit - I thought it was some aftermarket cart / table. Oh well, never mind. Thanks again, Matthew
Yup, sorry about that Matthew, totally slipped my mind, you can find those occasionally on FF marketplace, they are super cool! Thanks again for Watching and commenting
SnS Tom!! I research everything I buy over 100$.. I bought my kamado after 2 years of saving and research.. but soon as I buy mine out comes the gravity feed charcoal GRILL!! I love that 1 ,but it's a little pricey ,I'm on a budget.. I BBQ every weekend on my off days n usually I'm slow cooking min 4-6 hour's, I did my first brisket flat!! Been watching the vids for awhile ,I pulled the trigger.. on my kamander it was so good!!? It came out perfect, Myron Mixon couldn't complain!!!👍
Sorry to comment on a year old video but I have a question as I consider a new kettle. I did your leg extension on my Weber and I don't think I can live without the added height. I want to pass my Weber on to my son and I am leaning towards the SNS to replace it. Do you see any reason why the leg extension would not work? Did you compare the legs and sockets of the SNS to the Weber? Do you think the 4 leg configuration changes the geometry? Thanks Tom.
I don't think SnS are available in the UK as far as i know but if anyone knows different please let me know. Personally my modified 22" WSM can do all the stuff these models can so i won't need to fork out for any of them. If i was in the market for a kettle i would also consider the Napoleon PRO Charcoal Kettle BBQ - 57 cm - PRO22K-LEG-2
You need to get one of those BBQ dragon wing side shelves for the 22”. Great video. I’d go with the SNS but I got a 22 and 26 kettles so wife would not approve. You should add the new RecTeq Bullseye to your collection. 😜. Keep the vids coming, Tom. Great stuff.
Tom, you’re the best! Great vid. I definitely like what the SNS crew is doing, small startups are what lead to large corporations. I’m a Weber man, and I’d go Weber here. But, I may add the SNS to switch it up. I’ll never ditch Weber though
Thanks for the great comparison. someone should buy a bunch of both and mod them together to make the ultimate patio grill. You know me I am a Weber diehard but can not stand the 3 leg wobble -come on Weber -step it up.
I want the SnS, but its made in China, I own a Weber 22", w/rotisserie. If the weber rotisserie will work on the sns I'll probably go that way. If not I'll buy just the original slow n sear insert for the my Weber. Any idea if the Weer 2290 accessory will fit on a SnS?
I would choose the SNS grill because I enjoy both grilling and smoking and I already own a SNS 2.0 setup. Weber has really laid the way for the SNS folks, but the SNS grill is superior. Both are made from "globally sourced" parts, but only the SNS grill is designed with features that allow versatility.
Great review! Thanks for sharing, I also think the SNS is better, still I own a Weber... as you said, they are worldwide, and I didn't know about the SNS until I saw a picture from Guga Foods todas with an SNS, which took my attention
I just bought a Master Touch 22" and in there is hinge on it, nor the thermometer support. :( And having known SnS 22" Kettle Grill I would have bought one instead of the Weber since I transformed it into a Slow 'n Sear grill.
You wanted to know which one I'd buy.......... Hell I already modded my Weber Kettle with everything the SNS did, Except the 4th leg of course. Took out the worthless Weber gauge and added a vent, added a true temp. Hinge by unknown, added a Ultra Q hole,WSM charcoal ring, 20" pizza pan, rotisserie ring, should have went with Cajun bandit ring but wth. Probe port. Bbq dragon shelf, And finally got the SNS. She's all black and her name is Betty. So I'm keeping her.
Hey Tom nice comparison. I’d have to go with the SNS too. Not being able to rotate the lid vent is a deal breaker but I also like the stability and probe hole. And it’s cheaper! Thanks for sharing!
Last year's Mastertouch had the same closed-smoke-open setting on the basket. I have last year's model. I do hope that Weber will eventually offer the smoke briquette basket and heat deflector for other Weber kettle owners since there is nothing keeping those devices being used in older kettles. You shouldn't have to buy a new grill for those features, especially if Weber is trying to compete against the Slow & Sear accessory.
I would go with the Weber because it's what my family has used since the 1960's. I have two Weber Kettles, a Smokey Joe and a Smokey Jumbo Joe. I wouldn't trade them for anything.
Thanks for Watching! If you are referring to the SS diffuser plate on the Weber Mater-touch Premium the answer is no, Weber won’t sell it separately, however I did make one. Check it out on my channel
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ thanks.... I'll check it out....however what I was referring to was the grill grate with the center hole that you can drop in the grittle, wok, searing plate....all of which I was wondering if those Weber Items can be used on the SnS Kettle
I'd choose the SnS kettle for the much easier to remove ash basket (I hate how hard it is to remove the one on the Weber), shelf, probe port, smoke hole, and temp probe being where you put your meat (instead of over the coals in the Weber, which is useless), but I have an SnS Kamado and a Weber kettle already so I can't justify the purchase.
I would choose my Weber master Touch original with my SnS Slow n Sear , I question the SnS kettle, I know my Weber will last forever. Thanks great movie
If I was going to buy a stand alone grill like these I would probably get the sns. But I like the performer with the side table like I have. But the competition with Webber Is good From sns to make Webber step it up. Until now I don’t thing anyone has come close to competing with them. Awesome video 👍🏻 thanks

Thanks for Watching! Good luck with your decision! Both Will work just fine!
Thanks for watching!
I’m looking to buy my first kettle atm and really leaning towards the SnS tbh
Thanks for Watching Sam! Enjoy!
If I am not mistaken, the SNS does not come with the slow and sear basket which changes the price comparison. For me it’s Weber all day. I have had a great experience with all the Weber products I have owned.
Thanks for watching!
Probably the best video on this topic.
Thanks for Watching!
Loved this comparison, both look like awesome grills. You bring up great points, Tom! Love the shelf on the SnS, too!
Thanks again for watching! I am humbled that you watched. Thank you!
I wouldn't trade my SnS for any other grill. Love not having to drill my grill. Plus, four legs are better than three. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback
Thanks for Watching! I agree!
Thanks for Watching! Thanks for sharing the tip!
Thanks for the comment! I appreciate you watching!
I’ve tried both the Weber 22” Premium and the SNS with original slow n sear and my choice is: Slow ‘n Sear Kettle Grill!
Thanks for watching!
I have a weber and like it for what it is. I think I would prefer the SnS though mostly for the more stable stand. If possible though I would move the wheels opposite the shelf, then I would use the shelf as a handle to move it around. Using the actual handle is really awkward when moving it around.
Thanks for Watching Brian! I like your idea!
Love my Weber, but when it wears out i would go with slow n sear. That being said, I think my Weber will out last me. I have the performer series so I don't worry about legs, and has a nice big work surface.
Thanks for watching! The Weber’s do last a long time!
I'd be interested in a 26" SNS...depending on the cost. Just not sure the "upgrades" are worth the extra money. Each to his own....looks nice though.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review Tom. I’ll stick with Weber but I’m not sure if I like the hinge over the bail on the side.
Thanks for watching Bill!
Always great videos Tom!
Thanks for watching Dave!
Great video, Tom! I’ve been on the fence about upgrading to the Master Touch Premium. I wish they’d just sell the charcoal ring and diffuser plate separately.
Me too! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for Watching! I appreciate the feedback! Thank you!
The Slow and Sear 22” Kettle can be found at snsgrills.com
Great video as always...the legs on my Weber crapped out. I have always been a Weber guy but after watching your video I can’t decide. Can I just come pick one of yours? Haha. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for watching David! Lol!
Regarding legs, price, & other things. To be apples to apples.... shouldn’t the SNE be compared to the basic performer not the MSP?
Thanks for watching Rick! You can if you wish, although I believe that it’s a step up
I’ve been drooling over a Master Touch for months but haven’t pulled the trigger. I noticed in the video there’s A hinge on the lid but all websites I’ve seen, even on Weber’s site, there isn’t a hinge on the lid. Ideas?
Thanks for Watching! They don’t offer the model with the hinge anymore
Tom. I will NEVER have another grill that is NOT Table mounted... Do you think both these can be mounted on a SS table with out much problem? Thanks for doing this video, great job...
Thanks for watching! Yes! Keep on watching to find out how
I like them both and will probably get the sns one. I have 10 webers already. I love the probe port and the included table..
As do I! Thanks for watching!
My webber kettle fell apart on me so it's time to upgrade and get the sns kettle
Nice! Thanks for watching Taylor!
Ok,,, thanks for watching!
Weber.... I just got my 22inch kettle premium and I love it!!! I would really love that hinge thou
Me too! Thanks for watching!
I tell ya Tom I have a 22 Weber kettle I have gotten a SNS for it plus the SNS grate. It's an awesome cooker for sure. As you say the legs so have some wobble. If I didn't already have this I would most likely go with the SNS grill. Thanks for the comparison
Thanks Mike! I appreciate you Watching and commenting!
I just don’t know what my new kettle will be
Thanks for Watching John! The choice is yours
Last year I needed to buy a new one. From your previous reviews I was sold on the S&S. Price was not a problem. When I When to S&S their website said 2month till in-stock. I bought the Weber and I'm not sorry! I really wanted the S&S!
Thanks for Watching Jim! Both grills are awesome! Glad you are liking the Weber!
Awesome comparison Tom. I'm looking forward to the Master-Touch!
Thanks Tommy!
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ thank you.
Thanks for watching Pete! Enjoy!
Good video. But you should have compared like items; the SNS and the Peeformer. Both are more similar and the same price. The gap widens, agree?
Thanks for Watching! I agree
Will a weber rotisserie fit on this grill Slow 'N Sear® Original Kettle Grill
Thanks for watching David!
I like both of them but would favor the Weber because I know they will be around to backup the warranty. That said, my ideal grill would be a 26 inch Performer.
The 26” is cool! Thanks for watching!
@Harry Warren Agreed! I love my 22” Performer, but I wish it had more real estate. A 26” Performer would fit the bill.
Yes it would!
You didn't mention that the SnS Grill grate is made from stainless steel, I believe the weber is chrome over steel, pretty big difference. Also, the ash catcher is all stainless, I believe the weber isn't. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks for Watching Herb! Correct on the grate, but I believe the ash catcher is aluminum
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I was going to say this as well but Herb beat me to it. It should be 409 Stainless steel on the SNS ash catcher.
Great review, Tom.
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I can't tell you but on another RUclips they stated it was stainless.
Ok.. I stand corrected, Thanks for the info Justin! I appreciate you Watching!
I’ve been corrected. Thanks Herb!
Hey Tom, buying a BBQ Dragon Wing Self solves the problem for the Weber. If you use the difusor plate that comes with the Weber, I don't think the position of the top vent doesn't matter, but I agree with you that Weber doesn't want people to use the Slow 'n Sear products
Thanks for Watching Eddie! I appreciate your comments
Thank you.
Thanks for watching David! I have before and it is about 1/2” shorter than the weber
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ thank you very much. You'd think that after all these years, Weber would comprehend indirect cooking and not place the thermometer over the fire. SNS has. Like David P. says, "We didn't invent the kettle, we perfected it".
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I just realized that I asked you this exact question before, and you already answered it. Thank you for your patience.
You are correct! Thanks again for watching
Anything with 3 legs won't rock on uneven surfaces. I have no idea if that is the reason behind the 3 legged grill.
Thanks for Watching George! Yes it is..
I have the Weber with SnS accessories which made the grill even better 😊
Thanks for watching!
Thanks Tim! I appreciate you Watching and commenting!
Unknown BBQ makes a hinge for the Kettle
@@randalltaylor3700 Thanks Randall. I do have that hinge on my WSM. But it would lift the lid up too much on my Kettle, also the lid Handel would interfere with the back of the Cart. The premium appears to not lift the lid up as much and there is not a handle on the top.
i think the s&s comes with a ss grill?
There several different packages, Thanks for Watching!
Tom
I want to restore my 1998 22 1/2 Weber classic with flat pan with 3 clips.
Thanks
Thanks for watching! The legs are easier to remove with the wheels off. However it can be done carefully one at a time without removing the wheels
Tom, I am thinking of just putting a ash bucket under the grill to catch the ashes rather than me trying to take the legs off and mess something up. Do you think that would work or do you have any suggestions. I appreciate that you have taken the time to respond to me.
That will work
Hello. Thank you for your videos. In the background of this video, towards the beginning, you have a table / cart that is holding a Red Weber kettle. Could you please tell me who makes it and where I could get one of those from please? Thank you.
Thanks for Watching Matthew! I do have a red Weber kettle, but it’s not on any special cart
Thanks again,
Matthew
Nice! Thanks for watching!
Thanks Tom.
Thanks for watching! My thought is that the height of the SNS doesn’t require the leg extension mod. But if you think you need it it should still work
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ ok thanks.
Thanks for watching!
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ your welcome Tom, great in-depth review as always very informative
I don’t understand why Weber haven’t added the little hole for temp probes. Makes me so mad having to run the wire under the lid.
I agree, seems like a simple thing to do... Thanks for Watching!
I just purchased the SnS
Thanks for Watching Eric!
Thanks for Watching! I appreciate the feedback!
Tom, you’re the best! Great vid. I definitely like what the SNS crew is doing, small startups are what lead to large corporations. I’m a Weber man, and I’d go Weber here. But, I may add the SNS to switch it up. I’ll never ditch Weber though
I agree, neither would I. Thanks for Watching!
Thanks for the great comparison. someone should buy a bunch of both and mod them together to make the ultimate patio grill. You know me I am a Weber diehard but can not stand the 3 leg wobble -come on Weber -step it up.
I agree Louis! Thanks for Watching!
Thanks for Watching! The Weber rotisserie ring does not fit on the SNS
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Thank you for the reply. much appreciated.
Fantastic comparison. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
It’s Weber for me for one reason only. I’ve been cooking on Weber kettles for decades and to me Im comfortable with and loyal to the brand.
Good to know! Thanks for Watching
Great video! I would choose the Weber for the versatility. There are many more compatible accessories, and it can be used as a make-shift WSM.
Yes it can, Thanks for watching!
Thanks for Watching Justin! I agree!
Another great video Tom!!! Super detailed and objective. My question to you is, have you cooked on the SNS anything other than the ribs?
Thanks for watching 305!! Yes I have, Meatloaf and other things
Is that lid hinge adjustable? Some recipes like pizza call for the lid to be slightly open.
Thanks for watching! No the lid cannot be adjusted
Great review! Thanks for sharing, I also think the SNS is better, still I own a Weber... as you said, they are worldwide, and I didn't know about the SNS until I saw a picture from Guga Foods todas with an SNS, which took my attention
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback
I would probably get the SNS between the two but I like using the slow n sear.
Me too! Thanks for Watching!
I just bought a Master Touch 22" and in there is hinge on it, nor the thermometer support. :( And having known SnS 22" Kettle Grill I would have bought one instead of the Weber since I transformed it into a Slow 'n Sear grill.
Thanks for Watching! Enjoy!
Thanks for watching! Love all the mods! Thats a tricked out Kettle! Thanks for sharing!
I just bought the sns...supposed to be here tomorrow... gr 8 review! Thnx!
Thanks for Watching Chris! Congrats!
I might have missed this but is the total overall height the same? The sns lid looks a flatter to me .
Thanks for Watching! The Weber is 1/2” higher
Hey Tom nice comparison. I’d have to go with the SNS too. Not being able to rotate the lid vent is a deal breaker but I also like the stability and probe hole. And it’s cheaper! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Gary! I agree!
This years kettle premiums got the upgrade too :)
Thanks for Watching! I agree!
I would go with the Weber because it's what my family has used since the 1960's. I have two Weber Kettles, a Smokey Joe and a Smokey Jumbo Joe. I wouldn't trade them for anything.
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback
Can you get the Weber Master Touch grill grate accessories and use them on the SnS Kettle?
Thanks for Watching! If you are referring to the SS diffuser plate on the Weber Mater-touch Premium the answer is no, Weber won’t sell it separately, however I did make one. Check it out on my channel
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ thanks.... I'll check it out....however what I was referring to was the grill grate with the center hole that you can drop in the grittle, wok, searing plate....all of which I was wondering if those Weber Items can be used on the SnS Kettle
Ahhh, sorry about that, yes those will work
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ lol...yah.....if I can manage to get them separately....lol
Thanks for watching! I appreciate the feedback!
I would choose my Weber master Touch original with my SnS Slow n Sear , I question the SnS kettle, I know my Weber will last forever.
Thanks great movie
Thanks for watching!
I already have a web 22in. So I'm really excited to get ahold of the sNs
You'll love it! Thanks for Watching!
If I was going to buy a stand alone grill like these I would probably get the sns. But I like the performer with the side table like I have. But the competition with Webber Is good From sns to make Webber step it up. Until now I don’t thing anyone has come close to competing with them. Awesome video 👍🏻 thanks
I agree! Thanks for Watching!
Will Weber rottisierie fit in sns grill? If so, sns
Unfortunately it does not, The SNS is little larger in diameter. Thanks for Watching!
hello mr. horseman, do you think that the unknown hinge would work on the sns grill? thanks
Thanks for Watching! Yes, Ive put on 22" Weber Kettle
The Weber lid doesn't go high enough in my opinion. Tough to add fuel and it forces the vent position to a terrible place for smoking.
Thanks for watching Warren! I agree!
I love your collection 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Thank you! I appreciate you Watching!
I have a 26” weber. Fricking awesome. Let’s see if Dave comes out with that, then I’ll decide 🤔
Ok, that would be awesome! Thanks for Watching!
Agreed. The 26"is the perfect kettle IMHO. It's only downside as far as I am concerned is the lack of mods for it.
Thanks for watching Bill!
I just bought that weber. I will unbox it today.
Nice! Congrats on the new Grill! Thanks for Watching!
