All you “sims professionals” out here saying it looks trash but you’re forgetting 1. He’s never used the game so he doesn’t know the capabilities and 2. He’s building realistically and using architectural norms they use in proper blueprints.. such as drawing out cupboards, using the windows as doors, clear open areas etc.
Where did he use windows as doors? I saw him use real doors. He just didn’t understand the program and the build is really awful
I see the germ of an awesome home here! It wasn't that long of a video, and while I'm by no means adept at building, I do know he would have needed more time to make something more specific!
@Taylor Mante he used Windows to represent sliding doors, and it was actually a good build if it was real. Hes trying to build keeping stuff like physics, architectural stability, engineering and useability in mind. Half the stuff we build in the sims actually isnt realistic. Try build your real house in the sims as a replica and you'll get what i mean. Stuff that looks good irl usually looks trash in the sims bc we subconsciously build unrealistically to make it look good

Okay, y'all saying it looks bad but it looks hella good for somebody who never had played the game before. If you guys see my builds right now you would pick that he was better in a heartbeat lmao.
The expectations were obviously high because he's a *professional architect* . Can't blame him though, he never played the game before so he never fully maximized the game's capabilities & did not properly realize the vision he probably had.

We don't have functional cars, but he always could have sized up a toy car and used the garage murals from City Living if he had access to a garage. And we also got debug cars in the recent live-edit patch! :)

He was awesome! Although he clearly never played the game he wasn't dumbfounded and clueless. He tried his best to figure out the tools and possibilities and he explained everything that he was doing without sounding arrogant. And he didn't look down on the way building in the sims works. You should bring him again and give him more time to figure things out.
I agree. It was a pleasure to watch even though I kept wanting to let him know there are glass roofs (and floor tiles) in the game for his vision of skylights 😊 He’s pretty cool.

My uncle is also an architect and thanks to him the house I grew up in has huge un-openable windows in the front that we had to hire people to clean. Also it got so hot in the summer that you couldn’t stand to stay on that floor even for ten minutes (he also removed all the walls in that floor so there’s kitchen, livening area and humongous windows that you can’t open to let in some air in one “room”) (edit: without air conditioning because this is Germany where a normal household doesn’t have any ACs bc for some reason they’re expensive af here) (and back then it used to only get really hot here for like, at most 3 weeks a year)

@@boingasmom its fine thou I can only wish they can go in depth with him on the game he could have done better if he gets the general idea on how the game works cc's are pretty but then you realize if you have a bunch of CC's option your have a wide range of options that it gets overwhelming then you can't decide which doors or windows to use .....then a few min pass by your still cycling thru doors and windows lol (jokes aside I don't play sims 4 but I do like the CC's that I've seen but then I also think if that were me I have a bunch of CC to play with I'd probably take hella lot longer than let's say if I had just the base game)

He definitely designed it with realism in mind because IRL that house would look so bomb. For the game, it's apparently empty. But it looks like what you see in architecture magazines that are usually unfurnished. Actually, these are the type of houses I want to see on The Sims Resource, just add more decoration and appliances to it.
