At first I was expecting another Plantoids (which you'd usually just get for the cool wooden-looking ships and so you can roleplay as Groot) but alas, especially when combined with Apocalypse (my second favorite!) its new ocean paradise origin creates a complex, OP ascension path that ends up producing huge food surpluses that can be sold en masse to quickly get more alloys for megastructures late-game, incentivizes pursuing water worlds (which can eventually even have their size increased up to three times) over just terraforming everything to expensive endgame meta worlds (Gaia for xenophiles/slavers, Ecu for megacorps or Hive for hiveminds), and best of all giving you a unique colossus weapon that would make RTGame proud and insta-terraforms worlds, the psychopaths are always happy for new ways to devastate entire xeno planets. It's perfect.
This song is beautiful, I shall now have this trailer on repeat for the next ten hours.
PARADOX! Please release the full version of that song, it's amazing!
This song is on my pay list because it is AWESOME!!!
Hope we get a dlc that goes over religion soon
OH THIS SLAPS WHAT THE HELL?!
Oh god, I love this sea shanty! Please release a full version!
I love the idea of this being sung as a battle chant leading up to dealing with an end game crisis.
Only 1 fucking criticism that has carried over from all of these trailers
PUT THESE MIND MELTING TRACKS IN THE GAME!
Y'all have licensing issues with the Apocalypse trailer...but I'd hoped it had been resolved by now to start seeing these wonderful works from your music department into the game experience itself, where it definitely belongs
MY GOD, SO GOOOOOOOOD!
We can close the Internet, perfection has been achieved👌
Aquatics: is here
Me who plays the cat race: fish is back on the menu lads....
*"Cycle 32. We're starting to get near Hegemony territory... And the humans started to sing... I have a bad feeling about this mission..."*
We need this song on Spotify or something
Now THIS is different! I like it! The ship designs are fantastic!
Two of my favorite things I never thought would mix, Space and sea shanty's. I love this game.
Not enough people talk about the new ships even though they're amazing. One little nitpick I always had about the ships is all of them looking like long, metallic baguettes. Unlike, the fallen empire battlecruiers or the contingency's fleets. There are very few ships that look truly unique (like the fallen empire battlecruiers, the scourge or the contingency) and it's great to see that I can add the new ships to this list.
Come all you young spacefarers, listen to me.
I'll sing you a song of our fish from the sea.
And it's windy weather, boys, stormy weather.
When the wind blows, then we're all together.
Boys blow ye winds fringeward, HEY! Blow ye winds, blow.
Out to the galaxy, steady she goes.
Up comes the Great Dragon in search of our home.
Through space to a place that's beneath waves and foam.
And it's windy weather, boys, stormy weather.
When the wind blows, then we're all together.
Boys blow ye winds fringeward, HEY! Blow ye winds, blow.
Out to the galaxy, steady she goes.
Up comes the solar winds, taking us far.
All through the space lanes and out to the stars.
And it's windy weather, boys, stormy weather.
When the wind blows, then we're all together.
Boys blow ye winds fringeward, HEY! Blow ye winds, blow.
Out to the galaxy, steady she goes.
Whose idea it was to make this a sea shanty, give that man a fucking raise!
I’ve always wanted my Water World, now I can have a Water Galaxy.
This one and the vampire coast sea shanty are amazing
COME ALL YOU YOUNG SPACEFARERS, LISTEN TO ME.
I'LL SING YOU A SONG OF OUR FISH FROM THE SEA!
AND IT'S WINDY WEATHER, BOYS, STORMY WEATHER!
WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, THEN WE'RE ALL TOGETHER.
BOYS BLOW YE WINDS FRINGEWARD,
HEY!
BLOW YE WINDS BLOW!
OUT TO THE GALAXY, STEADY SHE GOES!
UP COMES THE GREAT DRAGON
IN SEARCH OF OUR HOME
THROUGH SPACE TO A PLACE THAT'S BENEATH WAVES AND FOAM!
AND IT'S WINDY WEATHER, BOYS, STORMY WEATHER.
WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, THEN WE'RE ALL TOGETHER
BOYS BLOW YE WINDS FRINGEWARD,
HEY!
BLOW YE WINDS BLOW!
OUT TO THE GALAXY, STEADY SHE GOES!
UP COME THE SOLAR WINDS, TAKING US FAR
ALL THROUGH THE SPACELANES AND OUT TO THE STARS
IT'S WINDY WEATHER, BOYS, STORMY WEATHER
WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, THEN WE'RE ALL TOGETHER.
BOYS BLOW YE WINDS FRINGEWARD
HEY!
BLOW YE WINDS BLOW!
OUT TO THE GALAXY, STEADY SHE GOES!
I've had a soft spot for Aquatic scifi races ever since the Liirians in Sword of the Stars.
I hope someone commissions a full version of the song altered for space.
This shanty is amazing
Paradox Interactive We must have a version of this released on spotify or something!!
You better make this shanty into a standalone soundtrack or I’m calling *the end of the cycle*
Best Trailer I've seen
I like the little twists they put on the original melody
Ngl bought this almost solely because of the song
First we had Sleeping In The Cold Below, now we have this. This may be the start of a new trend of space shanties.
Half the comments on this video are about the music and I absolutely agree, its amazing
If in the future we will be have proper space forces this should be their anthem
i love the shot of the fleet with dragon following behind
