There's so much story telling to be told between season 2 and the movie. They could definitely do an entire season. Basically do what the Japanese tried here with Scramble City
Yea if there ever was a hand drawn cartoon series again, it should be the period between Season 2 and the movie. So many different great stories could be told, including the origins of the Matrix
i personally enjoyed this montage very much from splitting up japanese anime (originals) to the transformers the movie bits. As a story line (if this would be real), it really flows well in the way that the story is told (and thus bridging the gap between season 2 till the transformers the movie). I love how you guys did your research on this, and tell a story that would fit a void (even while there are different season 2 sources out there from... I dare not to mention the Headmasters series ;)). I also would complent on the voice acting job. It was done consistent and balls on, and fits the story pretty well. Even with in mind the limited resources that go with it (I love that part how creative you guys can become on that note) In other words, awesome job!
This was...FANTASTIC!!!! At 19:55 to 19:58 nice cameos of Sureshot, Brainstorm, Hot Rod, Chromedome, Crosshairs, Pointblank, Blurr, and Highbrow as the background Autobots leaving with Optimus Prime, Jazz, and Cliffjumper.
This was my favourite chapter ever, and last time I saw it I was 12yo. So happy to see it again. I will show it to my 5yo son LOL, he loves Optimus and has it as a toy.
@@archmage7813Maybe he saw what it was sourced from? That existed. I used to watch Japanese Transformers on Spanish TV in the late 80's and early 90's. Saturday and Sunday mornings before Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, Ranma 1/2 and Sailor Moon.
I don't remember ever seeing this episode on TV. This must be the finale right before the movie. I've always wondered why Metroplex was dormant and Triptacon was absent. Now I know.
The second half is really cool, since it bridges the gap between Scramble City and the movie, with like why Metroplex and Trypticon aren't there but in the following season.
Never really understood what the purpose of the combiners switching modes for. Sure with the Combaticons/Bruticus, it makes more sense, as shown by their Robots In Disguise 2001 counterparts (with Ruination swapping between modes), but Superion and Menasor (and I assume Defensor) it makes no sense. Like with Superion switching to "air assault mode". The thing is made up of 5 jets, pretty sure air assault mode was a thing from the get-go.
I think the producers of the show in Japan who wrote the original "Scramble city" were trying to justify the gimmick of the toy. While in Bruticus' case one assumes which component part goes where could allow him to deploy different weapons, I think we have to assume that for the rest of the combiners it was an attempt to draw upon tropes that were present in the earliest episodes of the G1 show(which I think we can assume had stronger anime influences). Back then, pretty much every character had some kind of unique superhero power. This was widely seen in various Japanese mecha animes, as well. As the show went on and the character roster expanded, this idea was gradually discarded, and I think the writing became lazier and more westernized, particularly in the use of the combiner teams. It's probably also safe to assume that sometimes this stuff was just cut for time as well. As Scramble City was the first story to be produced without any direct western influence, the superhero power idea permeated back in. It is clear to me that they wanted to give each combiner different abilities depending on the combination layout. In Superion's case, in one layout he can fly, in another he is perhaps stronger. It is not always explained well, once again due to time constraints probably, but it does justify the gimmick and encourages anyone who has/had the toys to experiment. I kinda like the idea. I also liked the idea of a member of a decepticon team linking to an autobot combiner to immobilize them and make them vulnerable to attack. This also justifies all the Scramble city combiner teams being interchangeable.
I love megatons voice so much, looking at this they really took kids seriously back then. It wasn't movie grade but serious no wonder they built a billion dollar property with this stuff
That was really well done. The voice work was excellent and the characterizations varied from pretty passable to spot on. Creative use of editing to make it fit in continuity better. Amazing job.
This storyline should have been a three-part miniseries. For the movie, I think Prowl should have been at Autobot City, alongside Ultra Magnus, as head of security forces there. Also, let him survive to help rebuild Autobot City.
Originally done in Japanese and never released to a US audience. Hasbro were dummies and decided not to introduce these characters until the movie and season 3 was released
It's a fan made, edit and creation. They took parts of a Japanese episode and redub them and rewrote them and spliced another thing. So you've never seen this episode because it didn't exist
It turns out that my "Mandela Effect memory" of Ultra Magnus being in Season 3 of The Transformers was something that actually occurred. When I saw the movie on the big screen in 1986, I thought Ultra Magnus was too modest when he told Optimus that he was just a soldier, not worthy of receiving the Matrix and leading the Autobots, considering that Ultra Magnus had been part of the team for nearly 20 years. Then I looked at the past episodes of the cartoons, and Ultra Magnus was missing from Season 3, because "Scramble City" never made it to the U.S. American kids got jipped! We totally deserved to see Ultra Magnus before he appeared in the movie.
Over the summer of this year I watched Transformers G1 cartoon and movie from Hasbros channel, but don’t remember this episode. However I like how this episode connects with the movie and explaining how Optimus, Jazz, Bumblebee and others went to Cybertron.
Love the edits; make so much sense now. Love the conclusion of the metroplex vs trypticon fight. And the best part is that the whole thing is English, thank you 🙏🙏🙏
This is really good. Some of the voices were okay, but some were great! Definitely the best English voice over. Also, the original music and sound effects were fantastic! Well done.
Very well done voices! I'm assuming it was a direct translation of the Japanese dialogue, and the second half was based on the TV Magazine manga that finished it off? One complaint: All Season 1 music? I really missed the Season 2 music in this.
@@AwesomeRandomVidz Dude this felt like the actual show, I love this and it was awesome how we got every character in it for one last clash before the big war in the movie.

Well spotted, they buried it under other sounds and I missed it first time! Honestly nothing wrecks TV for me more than sounds. When I hear that scream I'm reminded I'm watching a show/movie and my immersion is instantly broken. I go from enjoying something to thinking about sound effects like that (Snaps fingers) and it's very hard to re-immerse myself back into the show after that. Another one that triggers me is Bear Growl #2... Every single show/movie uses the same sound effects for bears and other large animals, it absolutely destroys any immersion I had at the time of hearing it.

this was perfect.. I wish other you tubers would do what you did and make a slot like they use to do back in the day for commercials .. truly brilliant.. thank you for sharing this with us..
@@arbbo1675 Hell 2 tha yes
A conic book series, set between Season 2 and The Movie would be cool. "Transformers: Scramble City"
Gotta love the originals
Grew up watching these straight after school
I rushed home made my toast, cereals tea.. and sat and watched. Good times
i personally enjoyed this montage very much from splitting up japanese anime (originals) to the transformers the movie bits.
Even with in mind the limited resources that go with it (I love that part how creative you guys can become on that note)
In other words, awesome job!
This is a fan-made episode, it isn't real so you've never seen this.
Now I know.
This is a fan creation and edit. That's why you never saw it on television. That being said, it was f***ing awesome! 👌
This was a japanese release only originally. The ending was modified by the people who dubbed this. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers:_Scramble_City
The second half is really cool, since it bridges the gap between Scramble City and the movie, with like why Metroplex and Trypticon aren't there but in the following season.
Not bad, man. I'm impressed. I'm building a Transformers story of my own, still in development at the moment.
Never seen this before. I'm almost 50 and thought I'd seen all the episodes.
This is a fantastic made episode so this isn't an actual episode
This is not a real episode. This is a fan-made episode.
I love megatons voice so much, looking at this they really took kids seriously back then. It wasn't movie grade but serious no wonder they built a billion dollar property with this stuff
I cant stop rewatching this. The voice acting and screen edits are so well done. I've said it before this is the best cut I've ever seen.
That was really well done. The voice work was excellent and the characterizations varied from pretty passable to spot on. Creative use of editing to make it fit in continuity better. Amazing job.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
I wish the original voice actors were able to do this. Unfortunately, now more than half of them have passed away.
the music is so well placed
Great work, guys, I really enjoyed this video, and I hope to see more of your work!
Nicely done. So authentic & good quality
This storyline should have been a three-part miniseries. For the movie, I think Prowl should have been at Autobot City, alongside Ultra Magnus, as head of security forces there. Also, let him survive to help rebuild Autobot City.
Man, what an incredible episode, cant believe I never saw this one!
I remember watching this when I was 11 .
This is brand new. It's a fan-made Creation. You couldn't have remembered seeing this because it didn't exist until 6 months ago.
I can't believe it took two years for me to discover this gem
this is awesome, great work, voices are like 99% spot on!
The voice acting for this was really good!
It seems like this episode is the direct predecessor of the Transformers movie from 1986.
Damn, finally I can really enjoy the episode
Enjoy mate!
This feels like a long, lost episode. All the plotholes, flimsy animation sequences, and toy dumping. Brilliant :D
Absolutely incredible! I have Scramble City on dvd from the Japanese series. Very well done!!
He cant deal with that now
I have all these on dvds
Voices sound good. Nice work!
The voice acting was remarkable, especially considering how distinctive the original voices were.
Over the summer of this year I watched Transformers G1 cartoon and movie from Hasbros channel, but don’t remember this episode. However I like how this episode connects with the movie and explaining how Optimus, Jazz, Bumblebee and others went to Cybertron.
This is an era I would relive again, fr
Love the edits; make so much sense now. Love the conclusion of the metroplex vs trypticon fight. And the best part is that the whole thing is English, thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Glad you enjoyed!
Wow, this was well done. Voice acting is on point.👍
Hey thanks for posting this brings back great childhood memories watched it everyday after school
Now THIS is the fandub episode before Transformers: The Movie & it's the best PERIOD!!!!!
born in 82 in france and i watched that in 88/89 the best cartoons clearly the animate of 80's years
This brings back great memories. Thanks
I wish I could have made the narrations, I can voice similarly to Victor Caroli
This is really good. Some of the voices were okay, but some were great! Definitely the best English voice over. Also, the original music and sound effects were fantastic! Well done.
Nice presentation for this classic.
Very well done voices! I'm assuming it was a direct translation of the Japanese dialogue, and the second half was based on the TV Magazine manga that finished it off?
One complaint: All Season 1 music? I really missed the Season 2 music in this.
Thanks Man!
@@AwesomeRandomVidz Dude this felt like the actual show, I love this and it was awesome how we got every character in it for one last clash before the big war in the movie.
So, I've never seen this dubbed in english so well, and by that I mean by whatever means you voiced changed it was just enough to slip through my G1 memories as "Sort of believable" in terms of sounding like the originals, Kudo's man, I'd love to see you do the Headmaster's next!
Spectacular. The good ol' days.
Liked! Wow, that was great! Well done guys.
Great job! The ending setting up the movie was brilliant
thanks!
This deserves far more info in the description. It's totally bad ass but I feel there's a lot of fan made/based stuff in this that should be explained. Some of the scenes looks so crisp I thought they were OC or redrawn and upscaled or something.
11:15 Roflmao The Wilhelm scream >< I'm not keen on the Japanese writing, it's usually silly, but because this is not a plot-heavy episode, thanks to the voiceworks and completely redesigned and westernised sound, you guys made this watchable! Thank you and well done!
The Combiner's swapping of limbs was really silly.
