I teach using just one of many accents in the world. Please only learn it if you like it and if you are interested in learning it. I do not believe there is one “correct” accent or manner of pronunciation and I fully encourage EFL/ESL learners to expose themselves to as many varieties of English around the world to become accustomed to the beautiful variations of this world language. I focus mostly on teaching “Modern RP” (I may just say “RP” in my older videos, but to clarify, I do specifically mean “Modern RP”), however, you will hear a lovely little Yorkshire twang to my accent from time to time too. Please LOVE and BE PROUD of your accent. After all, it is part of your identity and makes you unique. 💚

You're one of best teacher in You Tube at pronunciation. Pronunciation is very important when we learn English.
I'm brazilian and I'm trying improve my pronunciation in English. Yours videos are help me a lot! Thanks 😊
I have seen so many teachers but@ Emma you are exceptionally too good and talented. Thanks for being there to help us.
I understand perfectly Emma's English, even she speaks British English and I'm studying American English.
Pronunciation and connective speech are definitely the keys. And for this reason your channel is crucial for an upper intermediate-advanced learner.
Dear Emma. I loved your suggestions. Thanks so much. I believe that the most difficult part for all english learners is the understanding/ listening. I'll try these method in my daily english learn routine.
By the way, I'm originally from Brazil to be exactly from a small town about 1 hour from Rio de Janeiro. I've been living since 1996 in Germay. English is my favourite language and I love the british accent. I'm so delighted finding you on youtube.
Greetings from Germany🙂.
Yes,I 'm going to try to improve my listening skill completely in a year with your three tips, thank you, teacher.Be healthy in this pandemic.
You’re amazing! Thank you for your encouragement. I agree with you that learning language is a lifelong process.
Thank you so much, teacher. You really have helped in so many differents way and i don't even know how to express my gratitude, all i want to say is thank you. Abraços do Brasil.
Your teaching capability is very high ❤.
Another inspiring, challenging and AWESOME class! Thank you soooooo much 🙋🏻♀️
You're spot on this subject I got to the same conclusions after 14 years of watching films with subtitles. At some point you just have to turn them off and accept a bit of frustration for sometime but that will soon pay off. For me listening to the Archers really helped me as there is no video just audio which made it a bit harder to understand at first but after a couple of weeks my listening skills improved big time. The fact that you know other languages not just English gives you a better understanding of the whole learning process and potential obstacles the learners of english can face and that is something that not every English native speaker is aware of. Very good video Cheers.👍
I like to watch your videos, for me it’s clear because I put focus how your pronounce and understand the context of your conversation, it’s great for me.
The first time I see an easy way of speaking and I can understand it. Frankly, I liked your style because I would love to learn English Greetings to you from Morocco 🇲🇦❤️❤️❤️❤️🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Emma, one of my strategies for improving my English is to shadow the native like you. I have been doing this for several weeks and I think It is getting more and more comfortable in mimicking. When I listen to other youtube such as deep learning, AI, etc I am interested in I found myself that It is easier to understand more clearly. Thanks for being a target speaker I shadow.
Hello Emma! I'm new here on the channel and I'm loving it. I am Brazilian and speak twelve languages! I'm improving my British accent. Thank you very much for your help. I really like to use BBC apps, I listen to radio, podcasts and etc.
I really love the last part of this video to motivate English learners. Thank you, Emma.
It's great! May God bless you and your family and your service now and forever. Stay blessed 🙏 Amen
Your voice shows passion i appreciate teachers who go indepth in learning
Surely, the first tip is pivotal. In my experience, I had to dedicate the abundance of time to language. However, if I learn language via something I have passion for, I’m gonna improve my listening skills profusely and quickly.
I'm impressed. You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work
Thank you so much! The item 3 is what important for me and nobody told me that!!!
I will try...
You are so enthusiastic!
Hey Emma that's a good while that I'm learning English and i was only focus on American English but i do find your British accent so interesting...So inspiring!
There was a teacher I remembered SabirRehman, one day he gave a lecture in the class in English, and I am not able to understand, going above my head but I got interested into his British Accent, because
He has done his education from UK. After then I started getting interest in English, leads me to start
Looking English Movies makes me too interested In English foreign accent.
I had been working on BritishAccent for last 10 years its the hard work of 10 years that I can speak in their accent.
People used to ask me that am I a foreign native, but I always reply them that one should adopt the habit of hard work. After that you can change yourself. All of you are requested to practice this language, do not think of the people, otherwise you will not be able to achieve anything in life.
Hi Emma! Thank you very much for all your tips. This always happens to me when I'm watching films on Netflix, if the subtitles are on I can understand otherwise it's just very difficult for me. I'll have a go from today and see how it goes but I'm pretty sure the beginning of this will be really hard but I hope I'll get used to it and start to understand everything very well. Also, many thanks for your tips about connected speeches, stress, contraction, and ellipses. I'll definitely work hard on it. Cheers!!!
Hi Emma!! Tks for this amazing video... I totally agree with you because I’ve been doing some changes in my learning process, like your advices, for a few months and my English is better now. Anyway your videos always are great! Tks again 💕

Good evening Emma !! Each your lesson makes me really happy to learning English 😊!! Bye and thanks 👏🏻
Have been following the tips for a few years, and now feel awesome.
I started watching Game of Thrones with subtitles, and without them I used to fail to understand anything at all.
Now I enjoy even Scottish or Irish comedy sometimes. Not always thought. And not Glaswegian. And not Welsh...
I came here to learn more about the tips for improving Listening skills. Thank you Emma!
Thank you so much, Emma.
You're well qualified and professional. In fact, I've long been looking forward to learning from a teacher like you as my focus on language learning and teaching is on the things like connected speech and word stress, sentence stress that you always emphasize in your videos.
Many thanks, again.
Full of energy.many thanks to motivate us to keep on learning english in LOCKDOWN

Omg Emma this video is an eye opener. I've been working in Manchester for 5 year now in a executive position and it's still embarrassing when i don't understand what people say in meetings. It's affecting my self-esteem but I now know I should focus in norther accent connected speeche. Thanks so much.

Excellent tips for non native English Speakers like me, who wants to improve their listening skills and speaking fluency. I just started following your great channel!! Congratulation for it!!
I'm so glad to see this video you shared today. They are such good, useful, and easy-to-do suggestions. I found this video because I searched for "how to speak on the phone". It's really frustrating to speak via phone which is harder to understand what people are saying because of the accent, and the quality of the connection, it made things more difficult. Anyway, thank you for sharing!
Thanks teacher, your English is fascinating and I can understand almost everything you say. Regarding the tips, I think they are very useful. Thanks again.
I prefer the British pronunciation, more beautiful, and easier to pronounce. ;-)
If you listen to cockney and how brits speak on the streets you gonna change your mind.

Hi Emma! Your classes are great! I loved watching one of them. I prefer the British accent, as I think it sounds better for us Brazilians. Thank you very much! But here we are very used to hearing the American accent. But I study both.
Thank you for your tremendous suggestion
Emma, I'm brasilian and I liked so much of way of your pronunciation, because it's very clear and you are very beautiful. I learned a lot to you in this video. Thank you so much!.
Thank you Emma, you are wonderful.
I wish you a great day. 🌸
I think yours advices are great and I try to practice it
I agree with you... especially the third part, it is the most important advice 👌
Woow, I find it amazing that you’re able to tell sotaque paulista from sotaque carioca. I’ve been to Lisbon and PORTUGUESE people there said they couldn’t quite hear differences between my accent (from São Paulo) and a friend’s (from Salvador), which are wildly different (we both have fairly stereotypical/thick accents from our birthplaces)
They are very different! : ) My husband is from São Paulo so the Rio accent is noticeably different to me, but I like them both!
Hello, Emma, you give really good advice, thank you. I can understand you well, almost everithing.
Yes Emma I have a problem to listening fast speaking people's in English but, after watching your video this problem was immediately gone . And I think horrah ! My problem was gone . ☺️☺️ Thank you so much Emma. And now I can understand fast Speech .
