Ross you are by far the best journalist I've ever seen. Always in on the action risking your life just as much as the men and women in uniform (not forgetting about your crew either). You let the words and actions of the men and women in ISAF do all the talking. There are only facts (Who, what, where, when, and why). Simply the best.
Wouldn’t say he’s risking his life anywhere near as much as the soldiers (not saying he’s not risking his life) he doesn’t have to clear rooms, lead the patrol where your at the greatest risk of IED Strikes and when they do get in a contact he just has to keep his head down he doesn’t have expose himself to shoot back also he probably went for a month or two, not 6-12 month deployment
Hes probably dead today hate to say it but most the time when a dog is taken back from they're tour of duty un like soldiers they are put to death if they have even bit one person they are deemed a risk even though they're so highly trained you can tell that dog would never bite unless told too..

I served in the British Army for 7 years (1989 - 1996) and had the pleasure of serving in Belfast, Northern Ireland for a 6 month operational tour during the troubles, nice to get a little shout out that what we did there laid the foundations to how terrorism is dealt with all these years later. Hands down the most extreme & on the line reporting in the world I would say
Its always a good thing to do, you can join the reserves if you don't have time to serve as a full time job. You will only be deployed once fully trained and when you have time to take off work/school and most employers will be fine with you taking time away if its for the military.
