Awesome guide, as usual. I especially like how you added a general tank mit plan for the busters. Most guides completely leave out mit planning for whatever reason. Just wanted to say that there is actually an even easier way of solving Limitless Desolation than yoloing it. After your initial explosion goes off, you can run to one of two tile intersections to drop off your puddle: the + directly across from where tank 2 is in your video if you are explosions 1/3, or the + directly across from healer 1 if you're 2/4. You'll always be within range to take your tower, and your puddle will never completely overlap another player or their tower. This is how it's outlined in Battle Litany's toolbox on Primal, anyway (I've seen some Aether groups adopt this strat as well). In the end, it doesn't really matter how you solve it so long as you don't block other people from getting to their towers. Desolation is odd; it's the kind of mechanic I would expect out of a Heavensward EX, not a present-day Savage. Something else to note is that some groups these days use static spread spots for NA2, meaning that everyone will always go to their assigned spread spot regardless of whether they have sigil or not. It seems a little scary at first, but the spread explosions are actually quite small. Plus, this makes healing everyone up much easier! And on the off-chance that both healers get purple, they won't struggle to keep both themselves and the team topped off. Just something to keep in mind if your healers are struggling there. By the way, I'm so glad you noted where A + B and Y + Unused mix for HC2. Rinon's guide neglected to mention that these players can mix at the same spots every single time, and it kept throwing people off in PF for weeks because one person in the group had learned to mix N/S with their old static or whatever. One last thing: for any healers progging the fight, try not to overmitigate Dominion 2. That final Aion *hurts like hell* with 5 damage buff stacks. Yes, Dom 2 is scary, but you should have a Rep and a Feint here at the bare minimum (and probably a phys ranged mit as well). All you'll usually have for that final Aion is an Addle and your own healing. I've seen more than a few reclears die to enrage because someone didn't get topped off before the last Aion.

Small note: Leftover Short Alpha, Beta, Gamma do not have to take a 2nd hit and can just chill NW corner. It reduces some damage taken but some people might be more comfortable seeing that person in their corner still to resolve the mechanic.
For learning I'm against this, lets people find their spot faster for the 2/3 stcks to go to proper corner. (Like the mechanic is already easy enough as is but for people learning theres no point.) Healers use the same gcds here as always and you don't target the boss.
@@vaderglenn Yeah the big thing is sure you don't take damage... but the healers have to heal 3 people anyway so AoEing is the GCD efficient for them; you aren't saving your healers any healing. It's healer neutral but can increases the chances of an accidental wipe, especially if you're alpha or gamma.

When it's spread supports always go to static spread spots, moving within 1 square. DPS would move W wall if they're marked. Everyone is within heal range. Bad thing about NA center is sometimes people whose spread spots are W/E wall can't make it to stack or aoe snapshot NA. Awkward camera angling to check for safe row as well.
So do long alpha and long beta always meet up for the second towers in HC2? Or does that change depending on what’s unused from the first set and if it’s water and wind instead of lighting and wind?
Always, because Gamma is Blue/Purple, which will always work regardless of what's leftover from first towers in HC2. And Alpha/Beta both have Green, which always appear in 2nd towers.
I was able to find it after searching for quite a while. Kyoya Hashimoto - Necro Fantasy Cradle - Touhou SEPR-0001 is the album. However, I haven't been able to find any of the songs that you can actually LISTEN to :c
Man I've watched a fair bit of guides for fights I have no intention on clearing( just thi k the mechanics are neat to view) This has to be one of the hardest fights in the game yeah? Even amoung the other hardest this fight stands out like woo
@@rithli ah okay. Perhaps my brain is a tad too small. It took me watching you swords guide for emerald ex like 20 times till I had my aha moment 🤣 cheers. Keep up the work. Love the videos!
This is by the far, since I joined this game before endwalker, one of the worst bosses to fight in pf. simply cause phase 1 sucks xD. However this fight is incredibly fun to do.
If you're a tank or melee baiting fire N/S, consider taking one step east or west and creating some additional space between you and the NA players. Occasionally, an W/E baiting player will either be slightly outside the line or their partner will be too close to them. Adding some space helps ensure that you get the third fire bait. The fire AOEs are big and you'll still catch your partner.
DRK can also invuln the 4th TB - you use living dead after Aioniopyr and take the two autos immediately after solo. It's tight but it can last until the tb, and then the next two autos are shared. The drk will need some immediate love for the autos after, but this lets them invuln 1+final too.
5:26 I just want to make a remark here. The person next to long alpha with Water, Wind, Fire is the short alpha that didn't merge from before, here in Chaos we call that the Unused. The Unused has no reason to go back to long alpha and soak a second aoe with the long alpha, if you look at it it still retains the elements needed for a second merging, should the towers call for it. What i do as Unused is, after I realize that i do not merge on the 1st set of towers i dodge the cleave then go to close to 2 and 3 where i don't get cleaved by any aoes, it's basically 1 less person you have to heal after the second set of aoes goes off, and if that same person didn't soak the aoe it's more hp that they have for the tower in case they have to merge for the second set of towers. Might sound confusing but anyone that knows how HC1 works can understand what i said.
It should honestly be up to the player to choose to go back or go to the safe area since healers are always gonna use their aoe heals in this part. It is not an optimization to go to safe zone and not take damage and it doesn't require more healing to take the defamation damage a second time.
1) It's wifely called "Unused" everywhere, not just Chaos. 2) The reason people have the unused person to go back to their corner, it's to help the 2stack and 3stack players to quickly identify which corner was unused so they can know which corner to skip, especially when there's no callouts. I know you could argue that you don't need to do that, "just use your eyes", and I agree too, but for the sake of progging and learning, it helps.
@@SoushinSen Yes that is what everybody tells me^^ But i still think it's something worth thinking about. Specially after many many more attempts in pf.
I love your style but I am pretty disappointed in the strat choice this time. NA2 west is the worst strat as a healer player when both healers get NA the run is basically over unless we do some cursed weave. Static NA 2 is far superior for healing mit and movement and follows the same principle of NA 1. Also the 1 tile fire and ice is better for the same reason. In addition it lets everyone gets 2 minute buffs during NA2 fire and ice.
The strats shown in this video are the ones that Party Finder uses most often, and PF is notorious for refusing to change to better strats over time. Hector had showed 1-tile NA and Static NA2 in his p8 guide, and got a lot of negative backlash for it, so it's understandable why Joonbob decided to show the most popular PF strats instead, even if they're a pain to heal. (Damn, I wonder why there's a healer shortage in PF this tier)
@@trolly1834 I guess it depends of your data center. On chaos healer-friendly Na2 is the most common. I'm a bit afraid people will start doing this strat instead now...
I know it is not the most elegant strat for movement but it is the safest strat that exists in terms of margin of error. Everyone gets a lot of room and you also remove the chances of clipping an Allagan Circle with one of the spreads by making them go west. You also have a lot of time to heal in between spread/stack and when players are stacked, you don't have to stand on the edge of the stage, you can be on the square next to the stack and be ready to dump a heal before damage/before moving out. Doesn't prevent you from doing this strat with your group though!
On LD, you want to have 1/3 bait at the 1st + intersection and 2/4 bait at the 2nd +. When everyone baits this way, it guarantees you don't have any accidents with poor aoe baiting. You have plenty of time to slide cast through 2nd bait to 3rd bait spot as a caster. 1st bait explodes, 3rd slides into that spot while 2nd bait spawns, then wait on bait, then slide into tower. It may look scary if you're 3rd bait standing on top of 2 while 1st bait explodes but there's actually plenty of time between bait 1 going off and bait 2 going off. If we number the 6 tower squares 12-34-56 top to bottom left to right, this protects from a scenario of ST 1st getting square 1, MT 2nd getting 4, and H2 3rd getting 2 where ST could potentially not move, MT takes the 1st + and H2 is just sitting there like WTF bro? Solvable by H2, yes, but when you wipe to LD its frequently something with 1/2 mindlessly baiting where 2/3 want to bait and by using those static bait spots you remove that. On NA2, Purp West is bad. Why? Because if you get double healer purp+stack first, you are maximizing the PTs ability to dodge heals. Specifically, after the stack, you have DPS moving far away from healers and healers(purp) moving far away from DPS. Remember, most AoE heals are 15y. Additionally, the a DPS going to the far east wall is over 30y away from the healers. So if they dodge a heal, the healers can't even spot heal them. There's a tank standing where the healers would need to stand to get in range. An easy way to minimize heal dodging is to not have purps run off to the wall on spread and instead use the Dominion spread. So on stack, stack sits mid while purp TH move 1 square over to the west. Purp DPS move 1 square over to the east. Then, on spread, you simply do your dominion spread regardless if you have purple or not. Tanks are westmost square, then healers, then ranged, then melee. This minimizes movement for casters, keeps everyone relatively close for heals, and is the same positioning you'll be doing later for Dominion. ADDITIONALLY, this THRM setup is better for Dominion than what you have shown specifically because SCH exists. Now if you get healer purps, they can move toward mid after the stack, heal, then move to their spots because where they go on spread is always half a square west of mid. ADDITIONALLY if a far east DPS dodges an aoe heal, if the healers are in the middle of their square and the far east DPS goes all the way to the wall, they are at MOST 27 yalms away from the farther of the 2 healers(TRIGONOMETRY!). So the healers can save a heal dodger, something they can't do if they're far west. Why not purp mid where everyone is always in heal range of at least 1 healer? Because, as currently taught, it has collision risks due to trying to minimize purple movement instead of minimizing PT movement as a whole. Using Stack N as an example, the strat currently has people running from 1st row North mid ALL the way down to 2nd row far SW. There is time to move, yes but it's a short enough time that the far N to far SW/SE can be a bit dicey. Static THRM spreads has minimal caster movement, minimal risk of collision, almost minimal risk of heal dodging(there's a better one but too confusing for PF), and has options for healers to save a heal dodger. Now onto the Dominion point I mentioned earlier. By doing a THRM spread, you are letting the 4 players that are squishiest to physical damage stay in SCH Soil if you have a SCH. Notably, SCH should be hitting all 3 Aionagonia and Dominion 2 with Soil(soil mit lingers for about 4s-5s seconds for those who don't know. It's linger is longer than the next dot tick and soil can be placed so you can give the squishy phys players that extra 10% mit on the initial Dominion 2 hit, which can protect against someone else dropping their mit.
West na2 is the worst strat because if a healer or even 2 healers get NA the dps on the east side won’t catch heals from one or even both the healers. Static spreads is much better imo.
What a messy guide. I cleared the fight back in September and I can guarantee you that some of the "strats" here were already outdated by then. The only reason I'm watching this is because I keep hearing sprouts who wipe and die because they're trying to follow this trap guide. You'll get better prog following Hector or Rinon, or even just checking your DC's raiding discord server for strats. Sorry, Joon, but all the time you spend on fancy editing doesn't make your guides better.
To add onto this, just a few details that you completely neglected to mention... Tyrant's 1 and 3 ALWAYS have two autos afterwards, while 2 and 4 ALWAYS have 1 after. Considering the tanks are using invuls, this is a wee bit important for everyone but DRK so they dont invul too early and get floored by the 2nd auto. NA2 should ALWAYS have purples stay mid for stack/spread. You want to shove them off to a corner when it's one or both healers with purples? Are you trying to make them work twice as hard just to heal people in the 5s between hits? This is the #1 reason I see proggers citing Joon end up killing themselves on NA2. LB 1 and 2 do LESS DPS than your normal rotation in the enrage phase, because the damage buff does NOT apply to LB. You're literally losing damage from it. You may as well use a tank LB if anything just to let the healers greed more for the last dom + aion. It would lose you less DPS than any DPS LB there.
Rinon literally has the same NA2 as this guide, of course guides can become “outdated” when new strats are developed this is still a good guide to learn what the mechanics do
@@trustytrest We are following this guide but as soon as we got to NA 2, as the raid leader and a healer I was straight away like "HELL no, I am NOT sitting in Narnia whilst my group is out of range of my heals." There is literally no reason for me to be chilling at West for that mechanic when the group can stay together in mid for most of the mechanic, in heal range. Why make it even harder to heal with so many AoEs in succession... ;_;
Meet me at West if you wanna make a tree🥂

Welp. I'm still gonna try, but I don't see any way PF gets past NA2 or either HC, both seem like they hard require voice and an exceptional shotcaller
I think the only thing i disagree with is second na should be center with static spots. Makes it easier on healers
Which version of Necrofantasia is this? It's so good.
from an old cover album compilation called Crade
@@rithli Thank you!
I was able to find it after searching for quite a while.
Kyoya Hashimoto - Necro Fantasy
Cradle - Touhou SEPR-0001 is the album. However, I haven't been able to find any of the songs that you can actually LISTEN to :c
@@goofballteddy1786 That's what I was able to find too! Looks like it's not uploaded to RUclips at all.

Man i already forgot how to do this fight despite being a week 1 andy lmao
Would you happen to have the phase 1 guide as well?
no plans for a p1 guide as of right now but we'll see
Man
I've watched a fair bit of guides for fights I have no intention on clearing( just thi k the mechanics are neat to view)
This has to be one of the hardest fights in the game yeah? Even amoung the other hardest this fight stands out like woo
this one's not too bad for a final fight
phase 1 is def harder compared to this one
@@rithli ah okay. Perhaps my brain is a tad too small. It took me watching you swords guide for emerald ex like 20 times till I had my aha moment 🤣 cheers. Keep up the work. Love the videos!
thank you!
all it takes is repetition and practice, brain size doesn't matter in the end :P
not necro fantasia during the HC2 explanation 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For the life of me I cannot find the correct verison of Necro-Fantasy. Can you please direct me towards it, please my children are starving.
I also can't find it I would like to know as well

Honestly limitless desolation is the only mech on this fight that is semi hard lol
I always find it interesting how different groups perceive mechs, that is the one mechanic we immediately passed in two pulls compared to the others!
got my first clear 2 days ago with people getting mad at me lol
so far there has not been a single fight with the difficulty that of e8s
This is by the far, since I joined this game before endwalker, one of the worst bosses to fight in pf. simply cause phase 1 sucks xD.
However this fight is incredibly fun to do.
Can he conceptualize me into a creature that can actually do this fight please god bless
@@zydeox1221 point being, The healers are going to do the same heals anyways so it literally does not matter if they go back or not.
@@RikyuMntRl this is related to aether pf as joonbob plays on aether and ran into him in reclears.(his main atleast.)
@@trolly1834 Chaos and Light have been swapping over to healer friendly NA2 especially because how hard it is to find healers in PF
As a healer I hate that NA2 strat :(
West na2 is the worst strat because if a healer or even 2 healers get NA the dps on the east side won’t catch heals from one or even both the healers. Static spreads is much better imo.
the loud music is a bit distracting and the guide feels like it goes a bit fast for all the text on screen
Yeah I agree I like Hectors more but he doesn't have an updated version
I'm sure this is a good guide but I can't follow it with that music
Rinon literally has the same NA2 as this guide, of course guides can become “outdated” when new strats are developed this is still a good guide to learn what the mechanics do
@@trustytrest We are following this guide but as soon as we got to NA 2, as the raid leader and a healer I was straight away like "HELL no, I am NOT sitting in Narnia whilst my group is out of range of my heals." There is literally no reason for me to be chilling at West for that mechanic when the group can stay together in mid for most of the mechanic, in heal range. Why make it even harder to heal with so many AoEs in succession... ;_;
Refilling the unused element in hc1 seems uneccesary because Maca Rons was unused but they instead stayed at north west
