Cause he doesn't perceive himself as villain - he perceives all the other Universes as copies that his was sacrificed to keep alive. Hence he is not really a villain - he just doesn't believe that the people inhabiting those Unverses are real.
Oh but he does - his goal is to revive HIS Universe. The Prime Universe. Where everyone and everything he loved used to exist. So it's a righteous goal - his execution of this goal is not. You see his Universe was sacrificed so the others could live - living him locked in a place outside reality for a long period of time. With Lex as companion to poison his mind. He made that sacrifice, cause he wanted to be a Hero, with help from other Superman. And then he saw what the other Universes were doing with that second chance they were given - heroes refusing to help, constant confilct etc. So he then decided they didn't deserve that sacrifice. In his mind he is still a hero, a hero searching for a way to revive his Universe. He saw the people in those Universes as bland copies. So he didn't see destroying one as killing people - he saw it as removing copies so the original can exist one more...Again in his mind he was still a Hero.
I think the tale of Superboy-Prime is a cautionary one: Never meet your heroes, literally. We all want to hang with the Justice League and have superpowers, but we must first consider the cost. What are we willing to lose to have those chances?
@@frohawk8465 Dude lost not just his family and love, but his entire universe, and the heroes didn't give a single, solitary fuck, then said heroes went full edge. I would go full "None of these heroes are heroes, or even real, may as well tear through them until I get my own real world back.
@@denkerbosu3551You know, that's a good metaphor for Prime's situation, I mean, when they had the opportunity to stop him, the best thing Superman could do was give him a life lesson, which he didn't need at that moment, something that can refer to when You read a comic and you think you're there, everything looks nice and easy, but the reality is that applying it is terribly hard, especially when you're young, you have traumas, confusing feelings that you want to get rid of at any price, and the only thing you find is It's that you deceived yourself without realizing it, you lived in a world of superheroes who don't really act like human beings, your family left never to return and everything seemed as if you had to solve it alone and suddenly, sad, Even more when you don't what is real anymore, the heroes or yourself
Infinite crisis should remind people nostalgia can be a posion that wiil make you toxic and never make you move on superboy prime is a good example he hasn't move on from crisis on infinite earths and he became no better than the anti monitor
