I am a new subscriber to your channel and I appreciate traveling with you on your journeys. The ups and downs of the travel with the Defender as well as the people. I am 70 years old and have been a 4X4 fan since I grew up on the farm. I was a Search and Rescue member for 8 years and still get the itch. Your travels and your relationships are allowing me to travel. Keep it up!!

lots of "shit" in the video. Yes feeling extremely lucky. The car will be fixed in no time and we made the most of the situation by exploring more of Kyrgyzstan and it's amazing. truly
The beast is awaken (not talking about me one day late). A tip against moisture: Grounded coffee or Rice on a sock or pantyhose. Sandals on the snow....nice. Very Bear-man. Looking now at what happened.. it came from nowhere. Hope you are fine. Poor Bear2 having some claws problems. And even with this accident, it is really cool to see you devouring miles (Maybe that is why Bear got weak, you stopped feeding him). Pura Vida!!!!!
Berny ... Not the first , we were worried (jajaja) Yes the rice is a good tip . I did it in the past but not this time . Well hopefully we don't need to put Grizzly into storage anymore. Bear broke down so we could spend more time exploring Kyrgyzstan and we are very pleased. We would of miss out a lot .
That episode had a bit of everything - wow. Everything was looking so great until the end there.

Après 3 ans de voyage, j'ai appris que l'aventure on ne la rencontre plus beaucoup aujourd'hui, moyens de communication internet, gps, etc.....sauf helas lorsque l'on est en panne ou que l'on a un accident.....bon courage, ce n'est que de la ferraille et vous savez que tout s'arrange..... vivement la semaine prochaine que l'on sache la suite....en fait c'est fait exprès, on coupe la vidéo au moment le plus fort, l'intrigue et le suspens....aussi bien que les réalisateurs de séries.....bissss
Et oui comme la coupure pub dans les films à la TV .... haha On est bien d'accord, de nos jours tout est vraiment facile avec les portables, on a accès à toutes les infos. Et là encore le portable nous a sorti d'affaire. ;)
Be cautious when you head through the Zorkul National Park south of Murghab. We tried to do that route 4 weeks ago in the reverse direction and failed. We got stuck a few times in deep mud from the melting snow, although we were told it's no problem as long as you take the path furthest away from the lakes. Later on we found guides that told us they don't drive that path before July/August.

Hi Richard. yes the swivel ball ... Apparently it was a defect part. As a mechanic you will be very interested on the rebuilt at our now very good friend Nikolay ( The one who modified our new shocks before Australia)
@@GrizzlyNbearOverland if you need any technical tips, please ask. Have rebuilt several Landrover axles. You need to per load the top bearing. Hope you can get a genuine parts without to much delay. Great news your friend can help. Will send you a link of for two good Landrover RUclips mechanics.

That expedition truck is some beast isn't it 😮
They are really impressive to look at and I'm sure very cosy but they are actually very impractical.
Maybe ok for Australia and USA but in Europe and Asia they are just way too big...
That particular truck was bogged for 3 days in a river in Kazakhstan until 3 trucks big enough could be organised to pull him out.
We were very very lucky that the car incident happened where it did and not more remote or on a corner.
All sorted now and looking forward to the next adventure.

@@GrizzlyNbearOverland oh yes I know those roads in Kyrgyzstan n Uzbekistan. I used to live in fergana city Uzbekistan, actually I'm from fergana. Also my youngest brother right now lives in Bishkek Area, I think he is in sukuluk city.

Oh that was tough to watch!!!!! Its the worst feeling breaking something on your home tracks.....but up on a pass miles from town in central Asia:( You wouldnt think you would have to brace the diff/axle housing on an overland vehicle
We were very lucky it happened went it did, we were on our way to a very remote and challenging track in Tajikistan.

Hello , Yes the swivel ball housing snapped. But the car is going to a very good 'master' as they call him over here. And the repairs will be hopefully very interesting.

We found out later it was a defective part and should of been replaced many years ago by previous owner...

Luckily wasn't the axle . but the swivel ball housing and half shaft snapped obviously.
Still an absolute pain, haven't seen that happening often on a LR really. Good luck with the repair. Loving your videos btw, doing such an amazing job. We are planning to go to the Stans in a few months, so much looking forward to it!
