    for his first day on the job, Kayshon really shows exemplary work as a security chief. I love how he pushes Tendi out of danger without a second thought, just like any officer should do to those serving under him.

    tbh mariners got the right idea here they have no idea if those escape pods can be locked in which in turn trapped them and well you know gets collected however shutting off the engines could shutdown or even reboot the security allowing for an escape to happen

      The Tamarians speak through metaphor, by citing examples from their mythic history. "Rapunki, when he joined the Seven," is expressing gratefulness at being included.
      In other words, it translates the words just fine, but his culture's typical sentence structure and grammar is atypical from most Federation-aligned planets.

      His species has a full language and it translates fine, but his species speaks entirely through reference to past historical events, and metaphor, the meaning of which is not translated, by this point in lower decks, thanks to cooperation and study, the metaphors are now largely translatable, and he is backing it up with federation standard as a bilingual, it's a wonderful development of the world and setting,
