- So this is what I've been doing during quarantine. This arm is just a proof of concept, there is a crazy amount of room for improvement, I made a super basic setup to see how tricky this project would be.

“The power of the sun, in the palm of my hand”
That's the step 2
I've always loved that line!
In 10 years we gon see this dude swinging across cities and beating robbers’ asses
Or making a thing that's like the sun that fits in the palm of his hand.
Or robbing the bank
Or letting claws that cannot talk tell him what to do
It reminds me of that “knife wielding tentacle” video.
Combine this with the same technology used for robotic prosthetics, and you have fully functioning doc ock arms
Yes
Let’s just make sure he doesn’t make a neural interface for it...
@@futabafanclub865 Emotiv headset?
@@Rayzorbladez would that be possible?
I wold rather use metal than a 3d printer but use something very light insted like magnesium based alloy or aluminium
It’ll stabilize.
Lmao good job though man! This is probably one of your most complex builds. Don’t rob any banks now.
Very, _very_ nice! Doc Ock is a favorite villain of mine so it's great to see a bit of his arsenal come to life!
Quick question have you ever tried using flex glue for web fluid
This is a valid question that I also want answered
LegacyOf Marvel well no duh this is just a fun project
Ofcouse everyone know spidey is not real but spiderment equipment could be
From the makers of flex glue
Flex web fluid
Wtf this needs more likes! This is amazing
I got some serious nerd chills
With all the things you've created you can become the ultimate villain in real life
Dude your work is just fantastic. U should continue going straight forward.
I love these villain videos
Sick!!!!!!!! So awesome
I refuse to accept you only have 31k subs and 83 bucks a month Patreon. C'mon folks! Share this guy's stuff everywhere!
Guag that is awsome dude, you are so smart
wow this actually looks fucking awesome
Woah!!
Also this is the first video I ever saw in my life with zero dislikes, 1 up for that ma boy
Excellent idea bro
Ah Rosie I love this channel!
this is really cool pls make more videos on this
He will be the reason why marvel even exists.
"work out some bugs" lol
looks awesome!!
Okay, this is cool
Impressive technology 👍🙂👍
ur a freaking God
btw I appreciate the cost of that filament
*I believe you're control problem comes due to axial rotation between the ball and cup of every segment. If you incorporate a four nub design on each ball that is set in an intersecting pattern, and a corresponding set of grooves in each cup it could allow for movement only on the x and y axis and prevent rotation through its core.*
Put some small weights in the box to keep it from flopping around. This is a really cool concept, definitely keep working on it
Nice!
Now to make 3 more and put it in a backpack...
Epic!!!
Nice dude,I wish i could make some stuff like that.
When you improve on it you gotta articulate the ends of the claws that'd be cool as shit
the real enigineer arises....
Nice
That should be your little helper for projects
imagine hooking this up to the power pack!
fucking amazing
Epic
This is one of your most impressive builds yet! You might be able to get more points of articulation if you used more than 3 strings; maybe like a circular design instead of a triangular?
TomTheBomb I got lazy lol there’s so much you can do with this concept. Brain devices did something neat with muscle control and a robotic arm once
The Human Spider I’d call this far from lazy but I get what you mean. It’s only the first prototype after all. I watched that brain devices video, that’s so cool, I hadn’t seen that before.
Cool.
this would be so sick to have in my room
I love how somebody has the same passion of me. I would love to make something like this, but can retract and expand into/out of a backpack, so it has some more realism, but i am only 12 and will most likely need a degree in something in college for something like this, but this is my dream, to make it a reality. I am also in a poor family, which will make it very difficult.
You can do it....poor or rich your it doesn't matters.....you can do it....have a leap of faith🙂
Cool shit
You should make a hydroman based high pressure wrist mounted water gun
Amazing work and I'm amazed by your craft! The mere fact that you build it from scrath is incredible. I know very little about this stuff but where are you majoring in? These kinds of stuff in your videos requires knowledge and skill in electrical engineering, chemistry, and some programming am I right?
ваааау, круто, продолжай этот проект
We need to make them stronger
If/When Both The MCU & Sony recruit Doc Ock to lead the Sinister Six, they should take cues from this.
brooooo its amazing
i didnt expect this when i clicked
if you can combine this tech with prostethis tech i think yu will have a functioning prop of the movie
(edit)
yu can control it with muscle contraptions or even custom sound controlled arduino
I think the problem lies with the control u get from having 3 wires only, that's 3 points of force, and u need more for precision and maintaining a stable motion. Id add smaller circular disks in between the parts u have, that have holes all around with wires running through, so u dont lose ur design aesthetics.
Awesome job! Did you post the files for this project on github? I'd like to help try to improve the coding.
+1
This + 1.000.000$ + neuralink = dr.ock
On a serious note. I see what is causing it to look a little funny, the cables can tighten and loosen, but there is no way to push the arm in a direction, only pull and let gravity do some work. Their might be a way to simulate a a push by using the other two motors. I am not sure how those old telescopic antennas work on old cars but there might be a clue in that too. Maybe possibly springs around each cable wit
Ll give it that push for more stability ?
Not that bad. 🙂👍
cool
That’s awesome! Have you considered using some kind or rubber internal structure to keep it up right? That way when the string isn’t pulled taught it will return to an upright position due to an elastic center.
Haha just you wait. Something might surprise you
Looks awesome. What do you think about using vr controller as an input?
I am pretty sure you really need universal joints instead of ballsockets to restrict the rotation of the individual pieces
Listen to me now... LISTEN TO ME!!!
Dr. auto Octavius arm but still in building
In the presence of God-like justice, villains will propagate.
I pray you don't create your nemesis.
Now we need three more and a way to control them with are hands and a way to put them on are back
Soon octavius industries will be real but we would need to make it stable enough to hold a human body up on one of them I say one because the arms can grab people in the comics, films and PS4 game
Add 3 more arms, length should be like 3 meters and build them stronger so they are not crashing and falling down, then try to make them moveable with something that is connected with ur brain so you can control them nearly perfectly, thennnn... idk
4:02 this is only the beginning...
Meanwhile, a kid with a design giving it to a million-dollar team.....
Look for "OC Robotics - Introducing the Series 2 - X125 system" and "Snake Robot Mechanism"
I'd like to know the motors you used for this build so I have a baseline to work from when choosing my motor
Doc ock will come and steal it from you
Try to make the scorpion tail!
Perhaps a small, magnetic solenoid on each flange of each segment could offer more strength and control~?
What do you think~?
Great. Now I want 3 more, and I want them to be able to hold up to 50 tons. I also want them bigger
I know your joking but fore it to be able to hold that much it would need to be made out of a stronger material but that means it would be heavier and if you want it longer that’s even more weight not only for you but for that first little motor of the arm
been looking for ways to make said concept but , its hard to control in general. i have nothing online since i only make it on paper, you think more pivot wires would help strentgh and articulation? ive been thinking on if i ever get to the point your at. at looking at a learning algo, that maybe learns best combinations of pulling certain wires to get a certain shape, but i have no clue where to start coding wise
How has this project been coming along? Do you have a link to any of the files? I'd love to pitch in, get these up and running before the movie release.
If I may ask, are there any stl files for these Doc Ock tentacles?
dude imma do one of these but longer and out of aluminum in my engineering class.
why not carbon fiber/graphite? its lighter, stronger, and a hell of a lot more malleable
Do you have to program all the motors
Whats the settings on the inhibitor chip? Just looking out for you bro lol.
*THE FASTEST CLICK IN THE WEST*
is there a way to make it be controlled by a wireless controller and also is it possible to make it portable?
I need to get back into the. Amazing discord server can sombody help mr
amazing work
just needs some motor control with some sort of feedback
I might implement some kind of rotary encoder. The original plan was to use steppers, unfortunately I don’t have money to upgrade it right now.
For the arm did you use a stepper motor.
Can you please tell something about codes
Day number 16 of quarantine, I made the Doc Ock arm, ¿Now what?
Question. How are you controlling it?
looks to me like he's using arduino
what is the 3d printer in the video?
Oh no.
With the price of filament at it is now would it be more feasible to make a full Doc ock harness as opposed to what it was last year also what kind of material are you using to "actuate" the arms?
as soon as i get paid im subscribing to your patreon for the stl files and for a larger build would you recommend modifying the thickness of your "plates" in the arm?
Also if you are creating another design have you thought about a classic doc ock tentacle. Im just a beginner with CAD work and created an svg design that possibly could work on being a classic dock ock tentacle basis, could i send you the file and get your ideas on it?
STL?
Please villain tech - scorpion tail
Could you make electro gloves to shoot electricity out of your hands?
BRO DO U HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT MAKING ELECTRO'S SUIT?
This thing can move... shit
OmG😍
I wanna make
Music?
Would you be willing to share that stl file??
It is under his name just click See More
Op
Do you respond ?
