Headphone Jack, battery life, no Notch, Dual Front Facing speakers for gaming, pricepoint, Sd card additional Storage, The Xperia has this one for me, big time. It's by far the best Sony flagship i've seen for years.
And it actually get even better coz.. you forgot: * No hole punch * The fastest android phone ever in pretty much all categories if I'm not mistaken, which includes being faster than the iPhone 11 Pro Max!! (don't know about the 12 yet, but I think Sony will give it a run for its money for sure) * H.S Power control mode, which Sony flunked big time sadly, but it's still very usable and can easily be fixed with a software update! ; ) * 30 levels of volume control instead of 15-23 which most phones have. And this is seemingly something no tech reviewer ever brings up, which is a huge blunder in my opinion, coz it DOES really matter, and quite a lot for me at least! * Much sharper display (not that you would be disappointed with the iPhone, but still!) or if you go for the Xperia 5 mk 2, same display in quality and sharpness as the iPhone (pretty much neck and neck with the ppi) but! you get 120 hz and 10-13 % more battery life than the Xperia 1 mk2, which is already ridiculously good!! * Oh and.. not just front facing, but stereo speakers with some serious quality! Though I'm not 100 % happy here.. coz there's sometimes a bit of a buzz.. like a wu-wu-wu-wu-wu.. barley noticeable though, but still.. shouldn't be there. I'm suspecting that it might be because of how the phone is built. I'm referring to the kind of "hollow space" right behind the back plate glass, that vibrates when you turn that feature on. I think it might vibrate from the speakers slightly even if it's turned off. Anyhow not a huge problem. But, it does bug me a bit, that they made the earpiece speaker opening, smaller than the bottom one. Should be symmetrical, but sounds about equally loud, good and well.. the same in short. But if you want really good speakers, I'd go for the Asus ROG 2 or 3. And the 2 is cheap now, plus it looks better imho and sound just as good and I think even slightly louder than the 3, plus Mr JACK is still around, without having to be attached..😉😏

Sony Xperia 1 ii after android 11 update will suppport recording 4k hdr 120hz slow motion. Therefore, it the second phone supporting after Xperia 5 ii.
I have an Xperia 1 ii & LOVE IT. I've had all the makes of phones & after many many years I decided my favourite phone make was Sony. Mainly as they are made for the pro videographer/photographer market with their Alpha cameras & video Pro stuff. Although I think the iPhone makes beautiful images but it's more of a layman's camera....shoot & point etc, but you can't deny that Apple photos look better out of the box. In my opinion, it all boils down to personal choice & if you're a iOS or Android fanboy. Both phones are brilliant, depending on what your requirements are. 👍👍👍
I love your videos man. I do agree that overall the display on the 1ii is arguably the best on the market, I have to give credit to the colour accuracy of the 12 series. They have super accurate panels and that has to be something! Coming from a proud 1ii owner

The main camera is all about preference Sony camera can't be compared since every user will use different editing in raw. Camera phones have reached it's peak. Some people will prefer different phones.
@@willyvlyminck201 they all sound similar.. Plus it's all preference, some like more bass others like better sound.. Same for camera, it's all preference..
We try to be as objective as possible, when it comes to design or sometimes to the camera system we give our own opinion... other than that yes we compare the facts... our claim is "Let the facts speak."
Final points should've been: Sony 5 or 6 Apple 0 or 1 *DESIGN:* Why? Because the Sony looks way better in pretty much every single way than the iPhone 12 and is way more ergonomic to hold. The front alone and lack of a big ugly *VERY* dated notch, gives the Sony the win in the design category alone! *CAMERA:* And I'd say it arguably wins in the camera department to, since no, the selfie/front facing pics you took and compared clearly gave you a much better result on the Sony. Both sharper, beter colour saturation, better light and just more balanced and way more naturally looking overall. The iPhone does some "beauty smoothing" shit, and so takes away both contrast and dynamics in a face. Plus all iPhones suffer from that strange green/yellowish white balance tone which just ruins most pictures, especially when compared to other phones which don't do that. Pixel, LG and of course Sony phones comes to mind.. iPhone is better when it comes to video, but that's about it. But the comparison here shouldn't be between the iPhone's camera app and the "point and shoot app" on the Sony. No the Sony obviously have that app, and yes, it does lack quite a bit compared to both iPhone and Pixel phones in several ways, but that is because Sony wanted to put their emphasis on the "Pro apps". They are in themselves, a lot more advanced and competent in what they are designed to do and create, than what both iPhone and pretty much any other phone out there can offer. So I'd say it's a win for the Sony or a tie. Because while the iPhone might be more quick shot orientated and better at that, the Sony is more professional and versatile if you want to create more advanced results. And if you use a gimbal, I'd say the Sony becomes the winner in video too. *ALL OTHER THINGS TO CONCIDER:* The Sony has a clean display, no notch, no hole punch, no nothing, while the iPhone has both a huge fat notch that is so wide, that they might as well just extended it all the way across I think. And I absolutely hate those big gently rounded corners, makes watching video feel like you're watching a mini tv from the 1950 or something. Dreadfully looking, truly.. uugh! No displays should have as sharp corners as possible. And the Sony could have done them a lot sharper too, but it's still day and night compared to the iPhone. Best thus far is still the Google Pixel 1 XL (and none XL) It has no curve at all, just razor sharp and one of very few phones that still have a 16:9 aspect ratio. It also has a ppi of around 534, so very high, and pretty much only the Sony Xperia 1 mk2 and maybe the Samsung Galaxy S9 regular with its 570 ppi beats that Pixel score I think. Also, the Sony has the best UI on any Android. It's basically a Pixel with all the stuff that you wish Google would've fixed and improved several Pixels ago! It's right there, and executed to near perfection in most cases! Just a tiny little ting like having 30 levels of volume instead of 17. It makes a huge difference, believe me! And yes, it's really that good, and it's the fastest phone when it comes to operating it, like open webbpages, apps etc. Especially if you get the Xperia 5 mk 2 that has the 120 hz display (though not 4K anymore as a trade off) And both are definitely faster than the iPhone 11 Pro Max! At least in the test that the "Phone battles channel" performed. Check out his review! Don't know about the 12 Pro Max Yet, but I guess we have that result soon enough. But either way, the Sony will at the most be beaten by just a little if I had to guess. My only real gripes with the Sony Xperia 1 and 5 mk 2's, are that even though I really like the 21:9 aspect ratio for everything but streaming video, I don't like it to much when doing the latter. And not because most content is in a 16:9 aspect ratio on YT and other streaming sites/services, because the phone adapts to it. And sure, having pretty hefty black bars on your left and right of the screen is not ideal, but doesn't bother me too much at all since I never really had a problem with bezels. I mean smaller is nicer obviously, but it's not of any real importance. No, what bugs me is that the Xperia 1 mk2, despite of having a massive 6,5 inch display, still won't give you a larger image than the now 4 years old Google Pixel XL that only has a 5.5 inch display. And that's noteworthy! But not unique to Sony, even though their phones are the first and only I think that have the 21:9 aspect ratio. However others are currently at 19:9 and most 20:9 or 20,5:9 so not that much difference. The other thing that's been bugging me thus far, is the very good feature that was one of the main reasons for buying a Sony. And that feature is the H.S. Power control mode. Now the idea is perfect and should've been introduced back in the freakin 90's on anything with a battery, but for some reason very few things had it if any. Now, this mode, shouldn't have been something that Sony could've screwed up one thinks. Especially not since they made it work perfectly. However the easiest and most obvious thing they should have created for it software-wise, they forgot. And it's just beyond me how the hell they managed to do it. A simple fockin on/off switch, which should be the first thing on their minds to create, they skipped out on. Instead what you got is an app, with the ugliest design and chice of colours, of any app, that I've seen thus far. But that I can live with! What I can't though, is accepting that I have to add every app that I want to control with this H.S. power control mode, when you in fact can't even add them all!! LIKE WTAF!?! And no it ain't no unknown suspicious apps we're talking here.. Oh no! It's facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and most importantly, RUclips!!! Oh but don't forget, no browser can be added too! Except for one.. and I'm not sure if that is because I selected it as the default browser for my phone or if it is because I just happen to pick duckduckgo. So yeah, Sony fuck this one up majorly. But you can still use it. You just got to remember that as son as your display turns of, the H.S. mode is also going to turn off, and so your phone will start charging again. SO you got to keep that display on, and if you don't want to constantly go in to your display settings and change the "turn-off-timer" for the screen, I suggest you add the standard Android clock app to this "Game Enhancer app" and then you can just open the clock app and swipe over to the stopwatch and start it. That's the only app I've discovered thus far that never shuts the display off ; ) Oh.. and it got dual front facing speakers which sound good, even great sometimes, and are plenty loud for watching content or gaming on it. They could've been even louder if you want to fill a smaller room with music a bit better, but they still does that job plenty good, just not as good as the Asus ROG phone 2 and 3 from what I've heard, but haven't tried them out myself yet though. Also the quality of the sound should be a lot better on those phones. And that says a lot since it's already good on the Sony. Battery life is also totally amazing on the Sony's, very low drain, especially on the battery saving mode. Not that it's a good example, but I can tell you, that if I don't use it but keep it turn on but with the display off. It will last at least 12-14 days. Last but certainly not least.. Mr Jack, IS BACK!! And I got a feeling.. he's here to stay ; )
Because iOS sucks and I say that as a former blind loyal iSheep of 9 long years. I used to talk crap about Android before I actually tried it and saw its superiority and the freedom that it provides. My $100 Galaxy A10e running Android 9 can do MORE via SOFTWARE than ANY iPhone in existence running iOS 14 and will STILL be able to do MORE than ANY iPhone running iOS 20 in the year 2026. I even converted 2 of my iPhone friends to Android as well. One of them ditched his iPhone XS Max for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The other ditched his iPhone 8 for the Motorola Razr 5G. They're both satisfied.
@@willyvlyminck201 First off, "safety". What does that even really mean? ANY smartphone can be hacked. If you're not a super important person, you have nothing to worry about. No one will target you. Remember the iCloud hack from years ago? That happened to Apple. True 100% privacy doesn't exist on any smartphone. On Android, there are different stores you can install apps from including many different websites. You're not locked down to ONLY the App Store like on iPhones/iPads. Android isn't some dangerous place where you can easily get viruses or anything. Every website you visit on your iPhone, you can visit on Android and not have to worry about "safety". Apple is all about marketing to make people believe that Android is dangerous and iOS is a safe garden where you're "immune" from anything bad happening. Secondly, there's a difference between security updates and feature updates. Old Samsung phones from 4 years ago have gotten security updates in 2020. Like I mentioned earlier, my $100 Galaxy A10e can do more via software than any iPhone. iOS 14 has nothing that Android phones couldn't do 8+ years ago. I stopped believing the MYTH that "Apple does it the best". What I get with only 1 or 2 years of Android FEATURE updates on my phone, iPhone users after 5-6 years of iOS feature updates are STILL behind what Android offers. Too many iPhone users live in their comfort zone without giving Android a real try. Most of them don't even know what they want. They prefer Apple to dictate what they can or can't do on their phones. For YEARS, Apple users talked crap about widgets and any sort of customization and then suddenly when Apple adds it to iOS 14 they praise it like it's the second coming of Christ. Hypocrites..... P.s. I can even use iMessage on any Android phone via an app called AirMessage. It requires an old cheap Mac Mini for like $100 for it to work but it's possible.
I am also going back to Android. Just wanted to see what the hype was about. People are so locked in to their ecosystem that they have to blindly support them and convince themselves in the process that they are getting the best bang for their buck. I am deciding between the 1ii or 5ii. I’m more leaning towards the latter though. I prefer the smaller form factor.
I’ve used android for almost 10 years, including Xperia P, Xperia M, Xperia Z, Galaxy S7Edge, and Galaxy S10, and until couple weeks ago S10 was the best phone I had ever used. I love both iOS and Android because they’re both capable. However I recently upgraded to the S21 and the phone would overheat a lot with the snapdragon version and I decided to return it and got an iPhone 12 Pro and based on UI and interaction, it has been the best phone I’ve ever used. For some reason the apps for iOS just feel better and the UI just seamlessly works. The thing about Apple is that all the companies know that they are quality and try hard to out perform it. Apple is the benchmark when it comes to smartphones, even though they might seem like they are behind on paper, the way their OS interacts with the hardware is just pleasant. That being said I still do love Android, and Samsung Dex is one feature that I absolutely miss on the iPhone.
Xperia's camera here are for people who wants to take theri time to at least learn the basics of photography if they wanna get really good shot, while iphone is for people who just wanna grab their phone and snap a shot. I'd rather go for Xperia.. Learn to at least how to operate manual mode. It's raw is also better tho..

I sow couple of tech reviews that shows the 6g ram of I phone manage to keep the apps in the background running and you can call them back without the need for the app to restart, while most of the apps in the 8g Sony needed to restart after been opened, I advice you to do that and you will change your review about performance.
Sony xperia 👍
Without Sony's (Slow Motion and Water Proofing) IPhone cannot be like this 🙈🙈🙈
Sony Xperia 1 ii after android 11 update will suppport recording 4k hdr 120hz slow motion. Therefore, it the second phone supporting after Xperia 5 ii.
what about xperia 5 ii?
We will do a comparison soon, stay tuned😉!
SONY= Quality

I like Sony
I love your videos man. I do agree that overall the display on the 1ii is arguably the best on the market, I have to give credit to the colour accuracy of the 12 series. They have super accurate panels and that has to be something!

I'd like to have the screen, the battery and form factor of the X1 in a future iPhone.

The problem is that Sony don't advertise. They have a market of professionals that are loyal to Sony & rely on them to buy their products. Videographers, photographers etc who work in Media as I do, but Apple do one hell of a lot of promotion & that's why they dominate. If Sony emulated the promotional power that Apple users on their phones, Apple & Sony would surpass the other brands together. But just concentrating on the small market share Sony aims their products at, doesn't do their amazing phones any justice 😕
The one point I like about Sony I can get it repaired by third party venders. Cn't do that with iPhone.

Thank you! 😃
Final points should've been:
Sony 5 or 6
Apple 0 or 1
*DESIGN:* Why?
That's the only app I've discovered thus far that never shuts the display off ; )
Oh.. and it got dual front facing speakers which sound good, even great sometimes, and are plenty loud for watching content or gaming on it.

If you have that kind of money😉, why not?!
@@PSYCHOV3N0M What about safety and updates?
Impressive Sony's.
Apple paid these RUclipsrs for fake reviews
nope 🙄
I love Sony xperia
I prefer the xperia 5 ii
Haven't had the chance to review it. Would love to though.

IPhone 12 pro vs Xperia 1iii should be the right comparison..... Xperia 1ii is competing against iPhone 11
