I was expecting that the second game would be different. Story wise it makes a lot of sense. You are ruling over large city of tens of thousands of people, not a survivors camp. I like it.
It does feel like the natural evolutionary step. While I loved the individual human impact of the first game - I don't think they could have just done the same thing but more modern. They had to go bigger, or very different - and they've done both.
they should've made it more personal but with more detail mechanics, let the player be a person living in the city of the frostpunk universe, this war of mine in frostpunk, with conflicts, problem solving, missions, management, assigning tasks, survival, etc
@@ginxtv imagine pre made characters evolving from their pre set traits, applying for jobs, scavenging, battle with the elements, beast, other survivors, recruiting, and lots lots more, i think a spin off game is in order
@@tahnadana5435 well that could be a frostpunk spinoff prequel but that woudl a completely different game compared to frostpunk 2 except for the resource management part
Basically Manor Lords but in a Frostpunk setting? That would be an interesting thing as it would somehow give you that personal interaction with the people that you had in frostpunk 1
When i first got glimpsws of what frostpunk 2 will be like i was sceptical but seing game release i can say its frostpunking time and there was no better way of making a sequel storywise.
First time i finished the first campaign in FP1 i dreamt of building a big city and retaking the frozen wastes, now the sequel delivers 🙏. Shame they didnt keep the oily popups with the ice cracking sound from the first gsme but ah well
I'm so curious what they will add for the DLC's. I'm curious if that will escalate even more of what we can do and story wise. I think it has a chance to really become an insane game (which it pretty much already is lol)
I love the faction systems, and would be so happy with more of them being added, as well as seeing their importance on the game world at large. We're definitely glimpsing into a much deeper world, and I can't wait to explore it further.
Yes - there are several difficulties (for both campaign and utopia mode). Utopia can be customised by picking the main objective, map, difficulty, and starting communities - though objective and starting communities can both be randomised
Game length is definitely longer. You do have a final goal in Utopia Builder - though I didn't reach it in the time I played 'cos I kept dooming my people. Even if the game 'stops' after reaching that goal, the game launches with mod support so I doubt it'll take long before any restrictions are lifted and you can continue forever. (You might run out of materials, but the reserves in your colonies are pretty massive so they'll keep you going for a while. Again, a mod will probably come along to make them endless)
@@ginxtv ALright, that's definitely a huge improvement. I got given frostpunk 1 as a gift and didn't enjoy it too much because the campaign was so short that it became stressful and fell into a "there is only one viable way to play" hole, while Endless mode felt a bit shallow. This sounds like it'll actually be worthwhile for me :)
I 've seen many Frostpunk 2 reviews at this point, most of them from big and respected channels. Some were really professional, but yours is the best so far, congratulations, and you gained sub.
That means a lot - thank you! We have some more reviews coming out next week all in the strategy vein - and if city builders are your jam we've got a series where we play and rank city builders one by one (Frostpunk 1 will be making an appearance there in the next few weeks)

800 views is criminal, this is some proper studio level shit, bravo 👏👏

That’s the equivalent of an automaton in frostpunk 2

This War of Mine in a Frostpunk setting would actually be insane - and would probably turn me into an emotional wreck.

*Me looking at the public excecutions law*
You're as beautiful as the day I lost you.
Great video and editing! I don’t typically play these types of games. But I’m excited for this one.
This review is awesome
How grim could it be? Yearlong snowball fights!
Got to look for those silver linings
No time for childhood. Back to the mines

'It's Frostpunking time' is my new favourite saying
Very well produced review!
Got 30 hours in it already, and love it

I could hear that exact popup sound in my head as I read your comment
very cool review 👏🏻👏🏻

VaatiVidya making Frostpunk video? WHOA!!!
That fella has a nice voice
very good review
I can't wait to play FP2!
I didn't play either yet , Imperium romanum I did only
as of today, you can
Are there difficulty or scenario customization settings?
Yes - there are several difficulties (for both campaign and utopia mode).
Utopia can be customised by picking the main objective, map, difficulty, and starting communities - though objective and starting communities can both be randomised
Does it have a short time limit like the first game, or can you theoretically continue forever as long as you don't die?

@@ginxtv No problem. Defo will check your future work. Take care. :)
I swear this is a reupload. Also I loved/hated this game. I could not get the hang of it at all but was very compelled about the story.
Not a reupload, maybe déjà vu from the first Frostpunk?
But yeah, story and worldbuilding side of things, there's nothing quite like it
Just need the money to buy it. 😢
I believe it's available on Game Pass if you want a lower cost of entry
@@ginxtv ye thanks, I did just realise this and do have it now.
Is FP2 F2P?
No
Nah it’s like 40 dollars
???
