I wish Dillon the best of luck at Oregon.
Really liked Dillon, class act. Wishing Dillon all the very best.
100%. Was arguably the biggest piece to BVs first two years.
Was a scrub.
Should've been let go after 2022 and Jackson Arnold in since we're not in a National Championship window. That full year of experience is more important than sitting on the bench.
DG was so limited and we saw that our ceiling was always 10-2 with him.
@@christophershannon8734To be fair Lebby didn’t even give Gabriel a chance in the Kansas game.
I can’t remember having so much depth. Our two deep are all starters. We even have a three deep that would start most places. Unbelievable. BV is a genius.
Such a great recruiter and this is going to continue.
The last time I remember when we were that deep was during the Berry Switzer errands that's been a long time
🤘🏼
Gabriel is definitely in the same echelon as Landry Jones. Both program guys that were a benefit to the team if not superstars.
No way!!
Landry Jones just happened to coincidence when Alabama went to 3 National Championships in 4 years. Landry Jones is better than DG.
Can't even believe you typed this.
Almost 17.000 yards passing , 4 year starter, 4-0 bowl games ...give Landry his dues ..dang it
what you said about O-Line. I trust coach B to get those guys ready. They are hungry, and want to show what they can do. They hear all the doubts, so it will be in their minds to prove themselves, and hopefully pay attention to detail.
Absolutely. Theres a reason so many of his guys end up in the league
Haven't had a good line since 2019
Tennessee gonna T off on the o line it's gonna be ugly
@@CoryA77 It’s gonna be a huge test, no doubt.
@@BranDZ7 they haven’t had a great line, but they’ve had good lines.
I truly believe what DG mom said. I feel like he is just that type of dude who puts others first.
The 3 guys from the portal could or should start. Plus, Sexton is a starter. So, if anyone steps up or a True Freshman we will have a solid line.
I don’t remember them darting in the backfield during the Alamo bowl, lol…Miz.
If that’s a true story I have much respect for Gabriel. Even if it wasn’t I do. But I would have even more respect now.
If we went in with a real 2 year starter at QB I would feel more comfortable. Still we will see what happens.
8-4 incoming
These coaches obviously aren’t versed regarding what OU actually has done on the portal. The next bad O Line for Bedinbough will be his first
To be fair, this was done during media days, it is all for a print magazine, so this information is dated before we get it.
No hard feelings toward Dillion. Don’t blame him. They are putting all their hopes on a guy that has proven absolutely nothing. Oregon will be fun to watch. I hope that Jackson will pan to be everything he’s supposed to be.
The o-line is going to be just fine, their going to take everything that’s being said about them and use that as fuel to fight and make a name for himself
Ty
Sooner fan for 46 years, very optimistic! Really looking forward to this new chapter and continuing the legendary Oklahoma Sooners football history! Boomer 💙💯
You shouldnt be. This isnt the little 12. Wake Up call incoming.
The first law of the offensive line is recruiting and Bedenbaugh has recruited well. The second law of the offensive line is linemen drills which is what Bedenbaugh will drill you into the ground, and the third law of the offensive line is the weight room and attitude. Offensive linemen must be powerful in terms of strength and play nasty, angrily, and with physicality.
If you want to evaluate how important Dillon Gabriel was as a transitional piece, look at the 2022 Texas game. The kid was worth his weight in gold, I appreciate his service to my Oklahoma Sooner. We must move on to our immediate future and Gabriel must secure his future.
Creed was an undersized wrestler down year (Line)
Allpro
Parents let your kids start off as wrestlers.
Smart move for Dillon, I just hope we don't have to play against him in the expanded playoffs.
Most returning talent on D in all the SEC baby best D in decades n I'm loving being a D first team again we've always been at our best when we have a top tier D
🤘🏼
Down.
Oklahoma being in the SEC will only improve the brand.
Gabriel,it’s about the pub.
Cant wait to get OU in Oxford. They arent ready at all.
What makes you say that?
@@LockedOnSooners New coordinators, first year QB in the SEC, default adjustment period, lets be real OU wasnt doing great against the SEC the last 10 years and that was with elite teams just playing 1 or 2 SEC games. 1 or 2 is alot different than an entire SEC schedule. I feel like Arnold is really gonna struggle to begin the year. But as far as the game against OM, OM is just the better program RN. Better staff, better roster at every position, home game, etc....If y'all still had Dillon I wouldnt be this confident.
No way did Gabriel leave because “he wanted what was best for the program”. The only reasons for transferring are: wasn’t likely to start, more money, better opportunity to win, disagreement with coaching, moving closer to home, conflict with teammates in the locker room, and/or off-field issues (girlfriend, classes, grades, etc.). I know some of these probably don’t apply to Gabriel, but others surely do, no matter how much honey is dripped to the media.
My opinion is that we will hide our OL by short passes to replace the run. Then when team crowd the line of scrimmage to stop the short passes. Max protection and throw for a touchdown. Our defense should average 20 points per game. 3-4 td and we win in the mighty sec. Everything will rest on our young QB ability to scramble and hit the long pass.
You can't spell "douche" without OU. 😂
Glad to see today's youth are still interested in college football.
Pretty obvious y DG left. JA is our guy.
True, your Pokes won the last 2 of 3, but I will take
91-20-7...Boomer Sooner!
It's all good...would love to see you/Cole play Dalke/Kwon in a Bedlam Grudge Match...you could even play at Karsten Creek.
OU gonna struggle being consistent on offense woth the O line Tennessee has a great d line and are probably gonna have their way with this o line it may get ugly with coach H wanting to beat up on this team
So excited about the upcoming season. The narrative is Oklahoma is an unknown, I think that's a great story going into the season. The OL is going to be fine, they will be motivated by the lack of respect.
Talking about this team and what they should or shouldbt be is pointless.
When you look at the schedule, they are an 8 win team at best and a 6 win team at worst.
I think this team will be good but naming a bunch of names does not make the offense line good. Defense will be. If you're being realisting this team is 4-4 in conference. Ranked in top 25.
Anonymous coaches ?
They don't have the balls
to say whats up or what they think.
Athlon always asks coaches what they think of the other schools under anonymity. The SEC is many things, but quiet isn't one of them.
Tennessee may put up 50 on OU
Nah dawg.
That's what Bama said 2 years ago too welcome to big boy football 52- 17 Vols
@@LockedOnSooners I agree. This team is going to surprise a lot of doubters. They want this and they will do it.I Think that because, these teams have it in their minds that they are going to run over O.U. (So sure of themselves)That is going to cost them.O.U. has sneaky moves when they need it.I love that.
BV is right, its a privilege to play at Oklahoma. We don’t want 5 stars that are not appreciated of Oklahoma. We can win with less. We are family and if that isn’t important to the player then we don’t want them.
OU sucks? I thought that was what most believe. The last time OU won the Big XII, the new freshman were in Middle School. Venables is an average coach, but a nice man.
Lol... 😝....!!!!!!
How many SEC defenses are top 20 against the Run...im sick of hearing about the SEC
3 that's how many
How many top 25 pass defense...2 that's how many
You're welcome to be sick of it, but it doesn't mean we aren't going to continue dominating everyone else. Also of note, Texas is an SEC team, so 4 of the top 20 rush defenses are SEC, or literally 20% of the best belong to this one conference. And that's playing against other SEC teams, unlike James Madison's schedule.
@@nathanstruble2177 more like 1 in top 10 and two barely holding on to top 20 spots...Texas isn't there yet so leaving them stats in the Big12 where they earned them is more fitting... Georgia A/M and Kentucky top 20 against run...now how many of them powerhouse SEC teams are top 20 pass defense..lol
@@nathanstruble2177 Dominating besides Alabama and Georgia who dominates anybody lol
Half the voices and 2x the quality
Dillion was scared
Was not scared. He left due to the possibility of J.A. leaving and hurting the program for the future.
No way he was scared. Unlike you!
Ridiculous!
Gabriel wasn't afraid of shit! Wish him luck.
No great QB wants to go to OU and stay there after seeing the culture and the fans
False
So I guess heisman winners Jason White, Sam Bradford, Baker Mayfield, and Kyler Murray wanted no part of the Sooners. Runner ups Josh Huepel and Jalen Hurts as well. People reacted negatively to Rattler because he was cocky as hell and was making stupid mistakes repetitively
@@user-oo7uv8xt2b Vince Young had a better career than all those bums combined
@@user-pk6dl8dt8h 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
Yea Vince was just Dumb
No matter what, OU will carry texASS just as they did from 2000 on.
DG left OU because he wanted to play 😂. Lebby wasn’t gonna be able to save him this season. JFA is just better in every way outside of experience
