      So what do you do if you are ugly, this stuff is always told by good looking white people

    • @hiinsanity
      @hiinsanity 11 месяцев назад +21

      practice loving yourself, some people are just “ugly”, we can blame that on beauty standards but you still have to accept yourself as beautiful at least to YOU. stay on top of self care, skin care, smell good, teeth care, hair care, neat clothes, if u are presentable people will over look your features. then you can practice confidence because it will just radiate off of u once u become content when being ugly!

    Being an introvert i always tried to follow all these guides on how to be more extrovert, get what you want, etc. I think the hard work is accepting yourself and not trying to change to be a person you are not. Once you embrace yourself you will feel so much relieved. This tips might be great in certain situations you need to "sell" your work but really, if you don't feel like talking in a party just be you 💛💛

    This is so good!! People don't realize that social anxiety is directly related to not practicing enough! I use to have "social anxiety" but after I started pushing myself to be more focused on getting out there, not focusing on myself and just trying to be about making others feel seen and accepted, my social anxiety went away... for the most part... some days I feel like being a recluse but I never let myself fall back into that.

      I have no social skills and so much social anxiety that I analysis every movement feeling devistated that they don't like me 😞

    • @allthingsaremadenew236
      @allthingsaremadenew236 9 месяцев назад +10

      @@Ifidreamitidoit3566 That is hard! BUT if this helps, it takes consistent practicting(putting yourself in the hard situations) and literally not allowing yourself to think those thoughts THEN after being consistent (it'll take awhile) you will notice a change and it'll be encouraging to help you keep going.
      It never fully goes away but you CAN learn to control your thoughts. The bible says "Take every thought captive" and it applies very well to social anxiety situations.
      Hope this was helpful, even if just in a small way. :)

    When I start to become un-confident I just say to myself "You know what, it doesn't matter if they like you, if they don't like you who cares you have friends and many things to look forward to throughout the day" I also remind myself that if I make any mistakes or embarrass myself it makes me better.

    i felt like this on my early 20's, before knowing myself. now i know me and i know why i'm like this and i can deal with myself, life and people a lot better because i don't force myself on anything / with something anymore, neither with someone. i'm introvert and i always got manipulated about what people said to me like "you're shy" "you're insecure" but i always felt like "no, i don't" and then someone just come to me and said "you're not shy, you're just don't like being with that person, you don't think they're interesting. don't force yourself on doing something you don't like. you're still be a good person even if you realize that people suck for you and don't talk to them" and that started to change me. because i heard so much that i was shy that i putted on my head that i was without realizing i actually just don't like it. and then i discover i was introvert and not depressed. i just feel exhausted socializing and prefer being at home than going outside.

    What you said on the importance of social skills is so true. Even though many people aren't naturally outgoing and extroverted, this world kind of requires you to be and you're better off improving the skill in order to be successful. As someone who's very likely on the spectrum, it can be so so hard to constantly mask and try to act expressive, excited and engaged. Still, it's an important measure of surviving. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and methods!

    This episode is truly amazing. I love how you talked about this and the flow and pace is great. I'm glad I clicked on this video, girl you are a blessing!
    Although I don't want to have a negative mindset I still end up comparing myself to others, even if they're my friends/the people around me. I sometimes catch myself doing this and I try to challenge those thoughts but at the end of the day I'm still thinking that I'm not as good as I feel I should be. (I do always try to catch myself when I start thinking I'm not good enough and just tell It no😁).
    For example: job interviews. My friend and I are complete opposites haha. They're pretty good at articulating their thoughts and can answer questions in a short amount of time. I, on the other hand, tend to completely blank when I'm asked a question which starts the cycle of anxious thoughts/feelings. I thought about this and I told myself that I shouldn't compare myself to others. They have their strengths and I have mine. I shouldn't try to be more like them because it adds to my insecurities I guess. So what I've been telling myself is my strengths are different. I've found that mine is to prepare and practice in front of a mirror or to a friend before an interview (what I mean by this is I become a little bit of a perfectionist but point is I work really hard on it). Being prepared helps me so when the time of the job interview comes all I'd have to focus on is breathing and grounding myself (to stay calm). I'm still not the best at being out there but the important thing is I'm trying. If you read this entire thing lol thank you for your time and I believe in you! You got this 💜

    Here's a few tips that I took from this video
    (They're mostly the ones that I find that will work for myself)
    - Network!!!! Its not about what you know, its about WHO you know
    - Sell yourself to others - know who you are, how you can help other people, persuade, show your value
    - Show authenticity
    - Being good in social interactions is like a muscle, you need to keep training it.
    - When you are thinking to much, being too much in your head, you need to ground yourself. Be present. Do something that makes you present.
    - Be playful
    - Set goals when you go out, for social interactions
    - Say affirmations before going out
    - Go out and practice your social skills with new people, they dont know you and never met you, so it doesn't matter if they will like you or not!
    - Listen actively - show genuine excitement - ask questions even if you already know the answer
    - Introduce yourself to new people! - Step out of your comfort zone
    - If theres anyone you want to talk to in a social gathering: make strong eye contact, introduce yourself, compliment something that they are wearing or if you already know something about them.. ask something about them that you like, ask questions, be agreeable, show it off your personality, be confortable in your own skin, have positive body language, smile, cultivate inner sense of confidence, show emotion in how you speak, be an interesting individual (stay curious and learn continuously; know what's going on around the world, have a list of things you have knowledge on), be open to learn new ideas, ask questions that they are passionate about, be able to relate to other people and show empathy, storytelling, engaging communication, be expressive with your stories, positive attitude and energy, be an enthusiastic person, spread positivity, match others people energy, influence the room, be able to find something in common with that person, know when to exit the conversation, follow up with them (dm them about how good it was that you met them, ask to go out together)
    - Dress to impress, feminine energy, to mostly feel good about yourself and have confidence in how you look like
    (Read books and articles about things you wanna learn)
    - Self awareness
    - Be aware of other people energy

    I know you said in the beginning bit that you aren't a medical professional and can't help with diagnosed social anxiety, however for me at least this is still very helpful! I got diagnosed at 16 and in in my experience it causes a lot of the issues you discussed, such as feeling to scared to talk to people due too traumatic experiences and overall being shy and awkward. Sometimes it can be really beneficial just hearing someone explain that if you mess up, people will just forget about it. Because so often for me, no matter how much I tell myself that, its hard to believe it until someone else says it.

    thank u for this video! goals of "talking to five new people" "three people three personal questioon" oooooooof really putting it out the level of anxiety are we talking bout here for me personally bc when u said it i was just like - wow thats a freaking WILD suggestion. i must say that im glad im not avoiding these situations as much as i could, since i always kind of forget how bad it gets and then my squirrel brain just goes out again and again, but whow............. its a lot, a lot of times.

    I naturally have confidence and charisma but sometimes when things change in my life or someone gives me bad energy I felt insecure and wasn’t as confident . I’m want to always be the bright light I am I’m super fun and a lot of ppl love me for it but I have a very introverted and shy side I don’t want to dim my light for anyone
