- Fishing Trip with my Aqua Marina Aircat at Delaware Bay near Nelson for Gurnard and Kahawai in the beginning of Winter. I'm exploring this new fishing spot for the first time. Fishing with salted baits and fresh baits.
I have also modified my Deeper Pro Fishfinder with an external battery and I'm trying this for the first time today out in the field.

Thanks, Mark. As I said last week, I'm enjoying the longer videos. Keep 'em coming! Cheers.
Thanks mate, appreciate the feedback. I'm always not so sure if my babbling gets perhaps a bit boring if I don't cut it, haha. But glad to hear that you enjoy it.
Congrats on the weekly content
Loving it
cheers mate, appreciate it. Almost did't manage to publish anything this week because we were running out of time and were a bit slow with the editing, haha.
It's a cool spot around there. I used to love fishing at Cable bay. Got to get that boat for summer!😊
haha, yeah. Definitely a good little boat, except when you try to try to launch or land in some breaking waves.
Hi Mark. I really enjoy your content. A warning. I was given a written warning from MAF in the Marlborough sounds for cutting the fishes throat the same as you did. They claimed it interfered with them measuring it. My fish were way over legal limit. They claimed I should have removed gills only.
Thanks for the warning. Another bullshit rule. Pretty hard to remove the guts and gills without cutting through the throat.
Hi Mark, Nice couple of carrots. Shame the fish finder didn't work.
I've looked at those and wondered weather they're any good.
Perhaps in another video we can see it in action.
Regards Kevin
Hi Kevin, yeah the deeper has been pretty good. I used mine frequently over the last 7 years and I love it. Just that the battery was getting a bit weak. Since I hardly every use it for casting and usually just drop it over the side of my boat, kayak or paddle board I thought it be cool to have it run on an external battery for extended runtime. Funny enough when I got back home it worked again. I think just the connector that I used was crap. I will give it another try in the field next week. But I also made a review of the deeper pro a while back, if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/ZQOCBNBl3B4/видео.html
Nothing like a running red nose and a couple of fresh carrots for tea mate. 😊
haha, so true :)
Great stuff Mark, awesome video
Thanks Craig, I wasn't sure if less editing and my babbling would go down well. Glad you enjoyed it.
Babbles good..your not far to Hori bay in your little boat, good landbased there for your drones.
You made a release for the Roku drone?
@@craigwheaton2506 I might give Hori Bay a go, looks pretty good. Yeah I tried the Ruko with a bait release and it works surprisingly good. It's not the best drone for filming to be honest, but using it as a fishing drone turns it's weakness into it's strength. The motors are quite powerful and I did a couple 300 meter drops with my two hook dropper rig and 3 ounce sinker. It didn't even flinch a bit. I'm actually quite excited about it because I've been looking for a fishing drone that is very cheap, small and yet powerful. This might be it. Easy to stuff into a backpack when going for a hike, compared to the bigger fishing drones. I'll be making a video about this soon.
@@Fishingreminder I’d be very keen on it for slidebaiting for the same reasons, fit nicely in my kayak.
It's a great spot mark I used to launch my figlass there when I had my 4x4 gurnard on the left side of bay ,right side you get blue ,cod mate ,and yes flounder there as well in estuary , cheers , shaneo, Nelson, 🍺👍
Awesome mate, next time I'll check out the right side. Looks like some good reefs and rocks out there. I bet there's also some good squid fishing in spring.
Try the third rock out from pepin island bud or go over to right side near cliffs
cheers mate, will next time :)
Sounds like someone trying to make it their own private beach abd area.
They will pay off the council then put a gate in up the road
Yeah I really hope it won't be gated up. There are not a lot of good and safe spots to launch small boats and kayaks in this area. Places like this should be accessible to the public.
If you want some good 18650 lithium batterers I have stacks you can have for free
cheers mate, wish I had known that before I bought mine, haha. Thanks for the offer, I'll keep that in mind should I need more.
