As a Latina and black woman, we love some good seasoned meat😂 my daughter is 14 and so picky, I don’t know how it’s gonna work. However, she’s not really a meat or fish person. Thanks! You can purchase spirulina online. Amazon has tons of awesome options. Sprinkle in your smoothies. Tempeh at most grocery stores. And yes! The professor was eating peas 🫛 😊

Lupin Beans are 4.83 for 60 grams of protein and 50% protein by calorie (basically protein powder). You can buy them either pre soaked at like the Cento store or you can buy them unsoaked (much cheaper but you have to soak out a lot of poison which makes your house smell)
Mung bean or moong green gram is high in protein. I soak overnight grind and make crepes. East indians pair it with Ginger chutney. Heavenly food. I like the professor entertainment.😊
do you ever listen to dr. mcdougall who says your don't need to worry about protein and you could be fine just eating a starch and veggies even if you don't like beans he says you'd be fine.....is this not true? I"m hearing so many conflicting things in the plant based world. Some people are even raw vegans an say it is the best? I also keep hearing to not eat fat b/c fat with carbs makes insulin issues! so confusing would love your help
I don't know who McDougall is. However, your body needs the three macronutrients (carbs, protein, fats). Your protein needs are determined by various factors including your gender, height, weight and activity level. Ask your own doctor and registered dietician about your individual needs.
@@ChoosingMyHealth yes just hard finding low carb options for me that’s not soy base ; I may just settle on whole food plant - base ( pescatarian) 80% plants 20% wild seafood until I can get a better handle on finding things that will work for my body ; I figured it would be better than giving up completely
I get it! It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Do what you can. Non starchy veggies, legumes, nuts and seeds can give you a hand on the journey, too. Keep thriving 💜
Only 16.2 g protein per cup of your lentils? Is that already cooked and filled up with water? Dry, its closer to 55g protein per cup in the lentils I buy in Colombia and Ecuador. BTW, a cup would have 52g of fiber (a number that can be MUCH less depending on the brand) which might create a large problem for some people.
