If we're looking at a rebuild next season with numerous players leaving i think it's time for a coaching change. Time to address the fundamentals. This pass 1st offense and coverage focused defense was fine when he had great skill players on rookie contracts. We need someone to finally fix the trenches and establish a running game. The fact we haven't found a way to run for 1 yard on 3rd down for 5 years is embarrassing.
play calling aint the best ill admit but the reason we are losing is because we draft the wrong guys got the wrong guys in free agency no coach can help these pick up...we need new front office new scouts
@@DarkDefender1024that’s what I’m saying too!! People are mad we are losing and want to fire him, but firing him would only ensure that we definitely have lost all of any stability that’s left. Then we really would lose out for years to come. Zach Taylor is no saint, but these losses are not on him.
I just don't see why a top coaching prospect with options would choose Cincinnati over other franchises given how the front office operates here. Who wants to constantly have to rebuild their roster or coach lesser players because the FO is too cheap to give your best players extensions or too cheap to go after top tier free agents?
The 2021 & 2022 teams were flawed and both offense and defense were inconsistent but stuck together and believed and played so well together in the most important time of the year and most important games of the year. Never heard any 2021/2022 Bengals player say "we don't have enough talent on this team"... but heard lots of outsiders/media say that about the 2021 & 2022 teams tho To a large extent, saying this team doesn't have enough talent is a cop out. No team has enough talent. Mahomes could have been saying that all year and so could most teams like the Bills, Ravens, ...
If the Bengals lose another game, they should bench Burrow, Chase, Higgins and Trey. It’s not worth risking injury if we’re not making the playoffs, and they’ve sacrificed enough this season.
I’ll take Rex Ryan, Vrabel, it’s clear the defense needs a tough guy holding them accountable. Saleh would be a nice DC, but in a dream world, you guys remember Joe Brady? An instrumental key to help Burrow transcend college football, open the bank to get him from Buffalo to be HC
And some defensive tackles and another couple of defensive ends and some slot defensive backs and a couple of decent cornerbacks and a couple of safeties and a couple of line backers and another offensive tackle or two and a couple of better offensive guards and another decent running back. If they can just get that they will be just fine.
I'm incredibly worried about the future of this team, there is so many needs. Having Burrow and Chase is supposed to make you a contender every season. Seems like some dark seasons ahead for us Bengals fans, might be in for a 2-3 year rebuild. I really don't want Burrow to be Dan Marino and never reach a SB again but if he doesn't get off this team, that might be the case unless their are serious changes within this organization.
@ i think the organization is disgraceful. But I love the team. My problem starts at the top. All these players putting their best foot forward. I respect it. I’ll never pick another team. Eff u casual.
I would put most of the blame on management: drafting and being very tight with money. Secondly defensive coaching--coordinator and position coaches. I don't blame Taylor that much in terms of play calling. They have been able to score points.
Any coach would score points with our QB and WRs. Taylor is to blame for bad play calls and clock mismanagement, and losing 11 of 12 in the first 2 games of every season he's been here. Besides that, the Super Bowl run was our defense back then, and he didn't score many points in the Super Bowl.
To be fair, I think going into this season we all had Super Bowl hopes which means we believed the roster was Super Bowl talented. It’s not necessarily front offices fault multiple players have regressed and just outright disappointed. I AM concerned with Murphy and the development of the rookies/second year players though.
Here is thing --Evan makes that kick against the Ravens and 1 of those 2 last night, & the Refs call the missed hit to head penalty last week -- and this Team is most likely 7-4 and no one is having this conversation. Or if Hilton doesn’t drop that pick six or Burrow hits a wide open Chase. I think sitting around and blaming coaching is a lazy narrative. These are not coaching issues and it’s not even a front office issue. The only front office major criticism is perhaps not signing Jessie Bates and thinking Nick Scott or Gino Stone is the replacement. But in all honesty, I didn’t criticize that move too much in the moment because you hoped for Tee and Chase signings. So that criticism is more deserved on not finding a way to extend Chase or Tee before this season. As for this season, why aren’t we talking more about how The kicker has to make the field goals to win the game sometimes, and you have to get lucky and get the actual opportunity calls you and crunch time. This is just very unfortunate I’ve never experienced anything like this and so many games in the same season, but I’m not gonna sit here and just be reactive and blame wherever I can because I do see this team as not far off a 7-4 team. Most teams you can judge them by their record. I don’t think this team is that.
I blame Burrow partly for not being able to resign bates and tee. He said he would "take less" to keep this team together; then signed the biggest contract in history....yes of course there are others to blame as well, bit no one mentions Joe
Bottom line is Zac couldn’t motivate Kindergarteners to the cafeteria for free ice cream. Duke Tobin can’t find talent, though you ask him he says “we had a great draft…” On top of that our CB’s SUCK….. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST…… we hold onto “relics” WAY too long….. Hubbard is a backup now. Pratt only tries to strip the ball, and not tackling allows 3-4 extra yards instead. Vonn Bell needs a headset and clipboard…. He’s old and two steps slower, AND he can’t make the hits he used to. And back to Tobin and letting players leave…. Stone is a Bell…. He needs a Bates. We done have a Bates anymore.
Stephon Gilmore, Patrick Queen, and Haason Reddick were available….and why does it seem like the Steelers get good defensive players from Ohio State, and the Bengals defensive picks never pan out….Kyle Hamilton, those rookie DBs on the chargers , wtf is going on???
What crazy is that the fans really do have all the control, just not easy to rally. 5000 show up rest of the games all with bags on their heads something would get done
Mid-season assessment: Joe Burrow amazing Jamarr Chase amazing Offense decent Special teams good Defense bad Coaching bad Front office/ organization horse sh## terrible, horrendous, so bad it feels like the "despicable me" minions are up there making the decisions
It is a fact there are some team owners who are content with NOT winning. They are making their money, living their comfortable life. That would be Bengals ownership. Sad, and a disservice to the players and fans.
Sorry to hear about DJ Turner, but the defense has been horrible all year it's not about how many points we put up but how many points we are allowing that makes our defense suck so bad.
Zac is 17-33-1 in one score games. He’s won one them only because he gave up a 13 point lead. We need to trade for pass rush, I’d be interested in making CTB a free safety. And we need to address both guard spot
Darrin Simmons broke McPherson.. Dude has gotten worse each year he has been in the NFL. He could un-cap a bottle in the upper deck, now can't hit a FG.
Mike Brown is the tightwad penny-pincher, he got it honest and other negative traits from his shit father Paul Brown. The Bengals front office is Nepotismville and they mirror the owners values. There is no real GM effectively, yeah Duke Tobin LMAO, been there since the 90s. Mike Brown calls the shots in that organization, and he regurgitates his dad's values and overly conservative/anti-progress football values in running a professional franchise.
You know, David Bell was recently fired by the Reds because he kept losing close games; Zac needs to start figuring this out, or he can follow David out the door!
Zac was 1-5 in the AFC North last season (only win against browns backups in week 18) and is on pace to be 1-5 again. Has a career AFC North record of .300. This alone should be a firable offense. Can’t win anything if you can’t even compete in your division. Mike Brown don’t care about winning though, so I guess it works out for him at the end of the day. As long as he’s pocketing money
Great show guys. The roster in 25 is a 4 win disaster looming. No hill..no hilton..no bell...no gesicki...no tee. Decisions on Hubbard,Rankins,Stone, Moss? Think about how bad it could get??
I just watched Rod Woodson say how he played safety for ys an switches too CB his defensive coach russ challenge him too B more than a athlete too really learn the game & position and coach russ taught Woodson how 2 B A hall of fame player amazing what a good coach can do for a player than I look at Cin's who's the leaders where's the veterans 2 teach these young players if not the coaches
There is an issue with the training and support. For example, Evan and CBT are clearly struggling with mental blocks atm. Saying “well they’ll figure it out”. Doesn’t really help them to actually do that and it impacts the team. I don’t mean to single them out as I feel most of the defense and even the offense at times are having this. It’s the coaches job to recognise and support these things early. Secondly, young players aren’t getting enough snaps or time on the field until the team are desperate and need cover - also not helpful. Younger players will inevitably need to make mistakes and learn from them. Best they’re not in critical situations when there’s no support available. Training seems very slow. I mean several years for Dax or Joseph for example. At some point, it’s not the draft picks, it’s the training and support provided and recognition of how best to develop the player for the Bengals scheme. Not to mention of course, all these contract situations have directly impacted games. Ja’marr’s annoyance at the possible hip drop at Kansas was due to lack of guarantees around his health with his contract no doubt. Similar, I’m sure for Tee. And the lack of early season practice for some of these players have affected outcomes certainly. Additionally, not keeping those players with the right mindset (not just talent) has cost the bengals dearly. DJ this year, but also Jessie and Joe Mix, however you feel about whether they fit the scheme or not. Tbh the replacements, no offence to them, have been a poor shadow of the original player they’re replacing and their skills.
I remember like a year ago when duke was asked about contract structure and he was absolutely shocked that fans cared about the details of contracts and the cap. Also remember when Zac put this coaching staff together nobody wanted those jobs, nobody and they had to go way down the list to hire Cally and Lou. Burrow got Cally a hc job and he looks way in over his head. This coaching staff was put together of guys with very little experience and low salaries
People who think a football is made of aluminum realized months ago didn't have a DB room to go 17 weeks. It was obvious from day one but we did NOTHING as the fire was smoldering. Now thats its crisis its burned to the ground. Not shocking given where it started .
On a NFL team, each phase of the game has to compliment the other. The offense has to compliment the defense. If you know the defense is your weakness, THEN YOU CANT THROW THE BALL 50 TIMES A GAME! You can't trot your struggling kicker out to attempt 55+ field goals and give your opponent the ball at mid field! You can't keep trying to run the ball on short yardage out of the shotgun! You can't keep exposing your injury maligned QB to hit after hit! LAY ALL THIS ON TAYLOR! They are a finesse team in a smash mouth division!!!! Not a successful formula!
Everyone wanted on the Bengals a couple of years ago because of Joe B, what now, who wants to play with current coaches and questionable ownership. Back to wearing bags on our heads next year?
Welcome to Josh Allen’s world 2021-2023 where you have Stefon Diggs as your #1 and then Gabe Gavis as your #2, Isaiah McKenzie as your #3, with Devin Singletary as your lead back. Oh and your offensive coordinator is Ken Dorsey, who now coordinates the Browns.
I think the biggest issue with the front office and the coaching staff. Is they are to stuck in the old ways of how things are done If they can flip it and do things the way other organizations do them bigger scout teams be willing to spend more money get with the fact that the NFL is based on more guaranteed money now. We can be okay with who we have zack Taylor is a good head coach. He is not good at play calling, so let's get a good solid play caller in here front office needs to be willing to retain the solid player. S, we do have spend the money they may be losing more money, but they will get it back in the end if we have winning seasons.
The blocking scheme they use is a better fit for Mixons running style. Pollack only teaches our line how to fail. You could bring in 5 pro bowlers and he'd have them blocking themselves and letting the defender walk right by. I wish he'd go to Pittsburgh
They need to play like they did in the 2nd half v LA in all games. Why can’t that same physicality and intensity show up 60 minutes of a game? Where’s the toughness? The competitive fire?
DJ Turner out but it s not like the guy was lighting it up at CB. Where to start. The O line has never gotten any better other than reduced numbers of sacks. Burrow still gets hit way too much. The run game is bad. The RB talent is there. See Mixon at Houston tearing it up. Brown would be a 1200 yard plus rusher with a real O line. The guards and center are now below average. We need a new O line coach. We need better drafts. We drafted Burrow , Chase and Mims (i hope he's a stud just too soon to say yet with our awful line coach) duh. Higgins was a good pick. Jackson Carmine bust (we traded down to get him and passed on other stud linemen like Creed Humphrey). Defensive line draft, who is good? We let BOTH safeties walk a couple years ago, how did that turn out for the secondary. The biggest issue is that Zac Taylor is not a good playcaller. He was hired as coach but was never a playcaller. His teams have starter 1-11 the first 2 games of the year (0-3 this year). He should be FIRED FOR THAT ALONE.
Not re-signing guys is a problem, but the poor drafting is their #1 problem. If you're not re-signing somebody (letting them go to free agency) you have to replace that guy with similar or better talent - in the draft or free agency. Jesse Bates is a great example. They franchise tagged him knowing they weren't going to sign him to a long-term deal, but over multiple drafts they somehow could never find one similar prospect to replace him? What kind of planning is that? Doing mock drafts is mostly a waste of time with the Bengals, because on draft day they are paralyzed and they freeze and are undecided about what to do or how to proceed when a player they want comes off the board. We've all done mock drafts to fill needs, but then draft day comes and goes and you're just left shaking your head in disbelief at some of the dumb picks, and their failure to address positions of need and their inability to properly rank priorities given the draft board in front of them.
Some of our players just don't seem to know the plays. You can teach all day but if they don't get it..they won't play it. Football IQ is low on this team..full of physical talent which will only take you so far...need the brains too!
When you don't re-sign players it's usually because a change in coaches are coming. Signing players is also investing into the coaching staff you have so I believe change is coming after the season.
@@justinengland9449 I've been a Bengals fan since the early 70's so I think I know them pretty well. Like the back of my hand ? No, I wouldn't go that far. I think the Bengals FO see a system breaking down and a couple players not aging well on the interior O-Line but changing Cappa from starting right guard effects Mims so they won't make a change during the year and you can also see Karras has been slipping for a while. I'm not bashing either player but they hit that age where the arrow is pointing down. I think the defense is simply terribly coach and players out of natural positions and a lack of leadership doesn't help. I can go on to how Logan Wilson is misused for example having him sprint back 15 to 20 yards at the snap of the ball where the safeties play and Herbert seen that during a play and Herbert ran up the middle and juked Logan Wilson for a huge gain. Sam Hubbard would've been better missing the year having surgery rather than after 10 games tell the fans he's been playing with a tear in his hammy. The interior D-Line, I think Lou Anarumo keep them in check not allowing them to attack so the protect run lanes from QB's who are a threat to running the ball. Zac Taylor and the system is just too plain and simple and he still can't call in plays without having to waste a timeout for not calling a play in on time. One play all year where a receiver was wipe open by design was actually from TE Eric All. The rest are contested or extended back yard plays. No doubt the front office can see there's problems and may need a new coaching staff before investing players into this system.
evidence Zac Taylor and his coaching staff don't know what they're doing, Joe Mixon leaves the bengals team and has the best season of his career under a new system.
After 30 +yrs of being a Bengal fan i can say it’s just more of the same. Cheap, poorly prepared, bad decisions, from the top down! Letting bates, reader, zeitler, mixon, witworth, and soon Higgins, all shit decisions. And it’s a trend… Zach Taylor and pollack aren’t elite at really anything. Playcalling is really predictable and Joe runs for his life every season. HOW is NOBODY is accountable! The front office has a terrible scouting department, duke tobin isn’t a great draft czar. The aren’t dedicated to being great, and that’s the main problem!
Panthers....Browns....Giants....Jags....Saints....Jets. I get your point tho we could do better. Even if they don't get fired the least they can do is learn from their mistakes
Zac is the reason we got Burrow and Chase to begin with. His success is due to them and Lou when he had more than one good player. Front office went cheap and now those guys can't bail Taylor out any longer. He was along for the ride on the super bowl run. Might have actually been a liability. There's a lot of people in an organization like this. Are you pulling the cart or just a passenger making it heavier?
Look man. It’s bad to say but the Bengals won’t be successful until the “old man” passes away, Duke Tobin is fired and a TOTAL “new” coaching staff is initiated. Unfortunately, Burrow/Chase will be long gone before any of this all takes place.
I just feel so bad for Joe burrow, Jamar chase, and Trey Hendrickson all are balling out leading or top 3 in stats and we are 4-7 I hate this front office so much I know we’re small market but you won’t have talent like this for years to come
Don't cry now, i warned everybody here in all those post and pre draft videos you made here about Drafting/needing to pick up players for that bad defense they were missing. And yall kept talking about "We got Good picks, Good pick" on repeat.

We are now officially Marvin Lewis 2.0
Worse. Lewis made the playoffs 5 years in a row with Andy freaking Dalton. Zac Taylor could never make a single playoff appearance with Dalton at QB
Why is Zach Taylor still the coach?
He’s cheap
What would firing him now accomplish?
@@DarkDefender1024that’s what I’m saying too!! People are mad we are losing and want to fire him, but firing him would only ensure that we definitely have lost all of any stability that’s left. Then we really would lose out for years to come. Zach Taylor is no saint, but these losses are not on him.
Because it’s the BUNGAL way
@@TheyCallMeRabbit98if it’s not on the coach to get his players going who fault is it?….the qb ?the gm ?…..all the players ?….no accountability here
Zac is not an NFL caliber head coach and his scheme and play calling is suspect. Zac is incompetent.
I just don't see why a top coaching prospect with options would choose Cincinnati over other franchises given how the front office operates here. Who wants to constantly have to rebuild their roster or coach lesser players because the FO is too cheap to give your best players extensions or too cheap to go after top tier free agents?
Sad but true. A coach in Cincy has to do two jobs, coach and scout. Fkng embarrassment
I'd love to coach this team, but I'd want some say on draft picks and player moves. And before you ask, yes I am a coach
@@jp27whodey31 You a top NFL coaching candidate?
@Ovanite33 no, but I'm cheap 😂 😂
@jp27whodey31 😂😂😂
Thank God for you guys! Never miss an Episode (or your spot on assessments!) 👍🐯
The 2021 & 2022 teams were flawed and both offense and defense were inconsistent but stuck together and believed and played so well together in the most important time of the year and most important games of the year. Never heard any 2021/2022 Bengals player say "we don't have enough talent on this team"... but heard lots of outsiders/media say that about the 2021 & 2022 teams tho
To a large extent, saying this team doesn't have enough talent is a cop out. No team has enough talent. Mahomes could have been saying that all year and so could most teams like the Bills, Ravens, ...
Excellent point
Very true
If the Bengals lose another game, they should bench Burrow, Chase, Higgins and Trey. It’s not worth risking injury if we’re not making the playoffs, and they’ve sacrificed enough this season.
make's sense but mike brown and taylor will not do that
I agree, but it will never happen..fans paying to see all those guys play..and those guys would never accept sitting on the bench.
Get real. Mike Brown ain't gonna pay millions for bench warmers.
they still have to play the Steelers twice. they will most definitely be losing more games.
@ I know they won’t. I said they should.
Time to get Vrabel and maybe a new kicker.
And 2 new guards and a Safety and an edge rusher or two
Nobody of that caliber is willing to work for the Brown family. Ain't happening
Go all in on LSU go hire coach O as at least an offense coordinator
And some defensive tackles and another couple of defensive ends and some slot defensive backs and a couple of decent cornerbacks and a couple of safeties and a couple of line backers and another offensive tackle or two and a couple of better offensive guards and another decent running back. If they can just get that they will be just fine.
Love your show!
This organization is disgraceful

Pick a new team
@@flunder50let him be frustrated. As if you’re the most loyal fan. This shit is exhausting
@@Muzzlecrowe-li9kt same to you. Pick a new team. It's not that serious. All you guys thought this was a contender. Now they're disgraceful?
@ i think the organization is disgraceful. But I love the team. My problem starts at the top. All these players putting their best foot forward. I respect it. I’ll never pick another team. Eff u casual.
Fire the whole staff start fresh let's be 100 percent honest. Also the rookie punter shouldn't be handling field goals at this point
We as fans need to revolt like never before!!!
no thanks
To be fair, I think going into this season we all had Super Bowl hopes which means we believed the roster was Super Bowl talented. It’s not necessarily front offices fault multiple players have regressed and just outright disappointed. I AM concerned with Murphy and the development of the rookies/second year players though.
0-3 in Super Bowl Games!
@ and you lost in life if you feel the need and have the time to come into other teams comments and talk nonsense.
As for this season, why aren’t we talking more about how
The kicker has to make the field goals to win the game sometimes, and you have to get lucky and get the actual opportunity calls you and crunch time.
You're 💯 right tho, they aren't far off from being 7-4
Wild idea what about getting the coach from LSU and grab joe Brady 🤷🏿♂️
Jake, 100%. Thank you.
At this point... idgaf I they win out... they should have never been in this situation period... how much more of a sample size do you need... smdh

I told myself I’d be done watching Bengals news and videos… and maybe be done watching the games.. but here we all are😂. Let’s win out baby
It is a fact there are some team owners who are content with NOT winning. They are making their money, living their comfortable life. That would be Bengals ownership. Sad, and a disservice to the players and fans.
Who’s ready for the Draft? Lol
And we need to address both guard spot
remember when the bengals was once a hot destination where players wanted to come play for?
Yes. Just a few years ago.
No!
Never and I’ve been a fan 40 years
Yeah, then they got low balled and signed somewhere else.
No, I don’t recall the time where the Bengals were destination
I think the Philadelphia model is the way to go. Our biggest problem is lou anaroumou and frank pollock
Darrin Simmons broke McPherson.. Dude has gotten worse each year he has been in the NFL. He could un-cap a bottle in the upper deck, now can't hit a FG.
Front office being tight wads has bit them in the ass. I’m loving it. Boo Dey!!!!
Dax Hill? He will still be here. But yeah losing tee & Hilton will be bad
They need to get out of stones contract mid-season
Been going through this for decades with this organization! Still here 🤦♂️
I just watched Rod Woodson say how he played safety for ys an switches too CB his defensive coach russ challenge him too B more than a athlete too really learn the game & position and coach russ taught Woodson how 2 B A hall of fame player amazing what a good coach can do for a player than I look at Cin's who's the leaders where's the veterans 2 teach these young players if not the coaches
It’s the d line with any team…especially this team
This week or so let's go back to the last 4ish drafts and do grades
Meanwhile.....joe mixon having a career year.
Who dey!!!! The Brown Family Dey!!!!
Good luck signing Jamar now, wtf...good luck keeping Tee, f*ing good luck keeping Burrow after the rest leave...WTF front office
Lou's defence shut down the Chargers offense in the second half
Chargers still put up 34 points on Bengals though. One half does not make a game.
I would argue that the Chargers let off the gas, and yes we got some life and made some plays, but they missed some easy passes as well
Pollack still being employed by this team is insane
I think the biggest issue with the front office and the coaching staff. Is they are to stuck in the old ways of how things are done If they can flip it and do things the way other organizations do them bigger scout teams be willing to spend more money get with the fact that the NFL is based on more guaranteed money now. We can be okay with who we have zack Taylor is a good head coach. He is not good at play calling, so let's get a good solid play caller in here front office needs to be willing to retain the solid player. S, we do have spend the money they may be losing more money, but they will get it back in the end if we have winning seasons.
You see what Joe Mixon is doing?! While cincy has no running game
The blocking scheme they use is a better fit for Mixons running style. Pollack only teaches our line how to fail. You could bring in 5 pro bowlers and he'd have them blocking themselves and letting the defender walk right by. I wish he'd go to Pittsburgh
They have the line to donso
@ Houston has a bad offensive line, clearly you don’t watch any Texans football. Look at PFF offensive line rankings too
They need to play like they did in the 2nd half v LA in all games.
Without Joe and Jamar this is a 2 win team
You really don’t know the Bungals buddy
And it’s a trend…
Zach Taylor and pollack aren’t elite at really anything. Playcalling is really predictable and Joe runs for his life every season. HOW is NOBODY is accountable!
The front office has a terrible scouting department, duke tobin isn’t a great draft czar.
The aren’t dedicated to being great, and that’s the main problem!
They need toughness.
We also have a history of not paying our players we let the good ones go Corey Dillon went to New England and won a super bowl
Whoever decides to let Joe Mixon go should be fired along with Zach
Duke Tobin

Raise your hand if u noticed Tarir Tartt made plays snf!!
Very disappointed Sheldon didn't play I would assume he went to the hospital if hes too sick to play ball I had hi hopes for him unfortunately
His backup is better anyway.
One of the worst, if not THE worst front offices in the league. So sad.
15:35 firing Pollack woulda fixed thongs if they had done it 2 years ago. And it is step 1 right now.
Look man. It’s bad to say but the Bengals won’t be successful until the “old man” passes away, Duke Tobin is fired and a TOTAL “new” coaching staff is initiated.
Unfortunately, Burrow/Chase will be long gone before any of this all takes place.
