Think of Lous history here. He was our 4th choice as DC for Zac and none of us wanted him. Then we all fell in love 21-22 praying he wouldn't get HC job somewhere...now hes hated again. Dude knows how to coach but hes not been provided the horses to compete. A new voice will be a new voice if the ears listening are the same ones currently.
He’s been very good with all pro players. We need a coach who can coach bad players to be average because that’s how this organization works. Lou just can’t do that.
@@jharp08 I wouldn’t say it’s easier said than done, there are plenty of teams with way less talent on defense than the bengals that are still not playing as bad as they are. Lous scheme is too hard for non all pro players. We need someone who’s gonna just run a defense so basic they get the most out of everyone. Lou is not doing that right now. He’s asking way too much out of below average players and it’s burning him constantly.
Lou has been out coached all year, his great players have regressed, and he refuses to play rookies when certain position players are ranking the lowest at their position. Him making those choices is why he needs to go. Is he good with All Pro players? Yeah, maybe. But he's only had 1 good defensive year (2021 is skewed because of the playoffs). It took him until week 10-11 to give battle more reps. Myles Murphy has the second highest pressure percentage behind trey, and yet Lou still limits his snaps. Not to mention Lou uses soft zone coverage, even after man coverage was shown to be working.
Do play calls mean anything? They must...why? If they don't matter why are some coaches better than others? Taylor has chosen to have too much on his plate...he refuses to give up play calling. It's arrogant...he pretends to be better than almost every other coach in the NFL.
Well, we should not assume that we will get a deal with Chase. He is very mad and his price has got to be going up and the contract is probably getting a lot more complex, with escape hatches.
My Bengals fandom started in 2001 when Carson Palmer was drafted and Marvin Lewis was hired. I'm tired of this dysfunctional organization with owners who cosplay as GM's and scouts instead of just being owners and I'm pretty close to retiring my fandom. Anytime something good happens to the Bengals, the ownership figures out a bunch of ways to screw it up.
Jay, you say all of these games are different but what has been consistent about all of the losses this year?… Joe Burrow running for his life because of that putrid offensive line and the defense realizing they were bad and playing like it.
Totally misses the point: 1) Total absence of a finger pointing at the guy who built the team - Duke Tobin. This is the guy who picked Nick Scott, Geno Stone, Sheldon Rankins, Von Bell (again), Irv Smith, Zach Moss, Hayden Hursts, & Trent Brown as FAs and drafted Ossai, Sample, Chris Evens, Murphy, Volson, Malik Jefferson, Nick Vigil, Chase Coffman, Marcus Hunt, Taylor-Britt, and numerous DLs and LBs. On any other team, he’s gone. 2) With the best QB in the league, you are 13-15 the last two years and not beating any good team. We went thru 16 years of Marvin Lewis who won just enough to get into many playoffs, but lose because he couldn’t beat a good team and loses to many bad ones. The Bengals never fire people so we go thru the same crap every year. Bill Belichik did it right - better to let a guy loose a year early, then let him get old. KC and especially Buffalo retooled on the fly when everyone thought they’d get worse. We stayed pat with the Hubbard, Pratts, Wilson’s, Karas’, and Cappas of the world. Lastly, the failure of the coaches in scouting should put a dagger in the short-staffed scouting department. Unfortunately, it won’t.
paused at 0:02 just stopped in to give you the view, the like and the comment for engangement but i'm done with this team, keep joe and ja'marr and hendrickson, get rid of everyone else including coaching staff and front office. ✌
The Lou thing is interesting tbh. Lou has had all the say on the defense and tbh was the reason why we went to the Super Bowl. But at the same time it doesn’t seem like he develops guys. Dax was given one season at free safety and thrown to the side and none of the defensive draft picks has done well with the exception of CTB and he’s drastically regressed. While this is all true he had 7/10 of his dline injured with the rest of the roster filled with guys who are no longer on a NFL roster. If we had the defense that we have now the first four weeks, we are at 2-2 making us 6-5 rn. So idk tbh. If we are all keeping it real here, Zac Taylor doesn’t have a job without Lou. Edit: I’m criticizing Lou developing players while this has been our defense class yet with both dt and Josh Newton contributing and looking solid😂
The problem then isn't Lou anarumo in his defense. It's the fact that these guys keep missing on their draft picks which is a Duke Tobin and a free agency Cersei Blackburn Mike Brown problem
Lou is absolutely the problem. He continues to play his worst players at the position (Geno, Bell, etc). Instead of playing newer guys and developing them, because they can't be any worse than what we have on the field, he just stays where he's at. Myles Murphy has the second highest pressure rate behind trey, and yet Lou keeps giving him limited snaps. Lou has only had 1 good (above 15) defense in his 6 years. Even 2021 was below average, but the end numbers were skewed due to the playoffs
It isn't play calling that caused Mike Hilton to drop a pick-six at the end Sunday, or Rehkow to drop the hold against Baltimore, or the officials to miss all those penalties at the end in Baltimore. It takes a team effort to lose close games like that.
It will be easy to dub in Simpsons animation during our games. Just repeat..DOH..DOH..DOH DOH over and over. Missed Fgs..Joe getting hit...3rd and long conversions.. blowing a lead at the end. Matt Groening never had it so easy. Tree House of Horrors!
None of it matters. They will get rid of Lou and give the job to some unknown coach with no real resume. They don't spend money on coaches or go out and get the best.
I think you guys missed the mark by giving Zac credit for the offense being top 5. They produce because their superstars play hero ball. Soooo many of Burrows big plays come from him creating out of structure after the original play has completely broken down. Do you really not see that?
The defense is terrible.Losing Reader and Bates, has made them bad. Also,McPhearson, has missed too many field goals, that should have been made,.Time to find another kicker.
Has there been a single player on this bengals defense that we can legitimately say Lou developed? Scheme wise he may be the cream of the crop but when absolutely nobody has performed well for you that wasn’t inherited from last coordinators or brought in via free agency there’s clearly a big issue with the way you do things.
We’ve been talking about play calling for YEARS! Even in the playoff runs, Zac is a terrible game manager & play caller. He’s over his head in those areas, AND players are losing respect and he’s a rah rah guy… that’s not a good sign either because that’s all he’s got
If if if they relieve Lou...the next DC will likely be Rob Livingston brought back from Colorado. Not sure exactly what Burks and Hobby have contributed to the overall good so they seem like perfect Brown-Blackburn sacrifices to fool paying public into thinking ..CHANGE!!
Man hope Katie stuffs your stockings full with some of these takes. The bottom line is Katie and Company run the team like a Poverty Franchise looking for handouts & Zac Taylor will never be good enough to get back to a Superbowl let alone win one. His trash offense was 1-6 in the AFC North last year and probably ends up if 2-4 this year. That means he has been figured out.. The "Sack Attack" only works because they are letting a generational QB take to many hits. Which is shortening his career.

That’s easier said than done. We are also in the division with possibly two HOF coaches

I'd fire Pollack twice just because how bad he SUCKS!!!!

Jamar dropped at least 2 passes that could have made difference and Joe missed several targets
Will Joe and Ja’Marr strong arm ownership for new coaches?

It’s pretty bad when you can say the Reds develop talent better than the Bengals can.
Go get Robert Salah for DC. I believe he can coach defense but he's not a good HC. He's young, energetic. He had the Jets D playing well last year.
How about Belichick for DC next year?
PAIN
As bad as defense has performed, the defense gave the offense the chance to win every game
They keep drafting young defensive talent and then just let it sit on the bench for vets that were let go by other teams.
Fire Duke Tobin!!! Terrible defensive roster. Light a fire under Zac Taylor to get next years team to be ready to go the day after preseason. Who Dey!
If they don't make playoffs I dont see Zac Taylor as head coach next season
I think you guys missed the mark by giving Zac credit for the offense being top 5. They produce because their superstars play hero ball. Soooo many of Burrows big plays come from him creating out of structure after the original play has completely broken down. Do you really not see that?
Paul really on here carrying ZT’s water.
Lou will be the DC of a team with a new HC. Meanwhile our guy will be Rob Livingston yes.
Joe reminds me of a sulky teenager at his post game presser. Why does no one point this out
The defense is terrible.Losing Reader and Bates, has made them bad. Also,McPhearson, has missed too many field goals, that should have been made,.Time to find another kicker.

Where the blame going? Lack of talent of the young defensive guys or lack of coaching?
WHO DEY!

Get rid of Rankins
and geno stoner along with cam taylor britt and every defensive end except hendrickson. Fire that p.o.s Frank pollock along with dukie Tobin
@ 100%
If if if they relieve Lou...the next DC will likely be Rob Livingston brought back from Colorado. Not sure exactly what Burks and Hobby have contributed to the overall good so they seem like perfect Brown-Blackburn sacrifices to fool paying public into thinking ..CHANGE!!
Shane Waldron will be brought in too...Zac loves him
Lou got 6wks to prove it , gonna fire Simmons after money Mac missed fg? Development looks like a Lou issue.

Robert saleh
Overthrow Joe choked again.
Zac is 🗑
I’d consider Mike Zimmer for DC.
Nah
