    Hey liked your video on these new tech and the forward thinking, of applications for the platforms. Have you heard of "melon" it was left out of your video, is it not powerful enough? I would be interested what you think of "melon"? Also don't know what has held this tech back so long, I've been waiting for a good product since 2011?? (Didn't know there were so many options before your vid).
    Also, I saw and fell in love with this tech in a Ted talk by Ariel Garten on Ted for Interaxon in2011. Interestingly i think there was some connection between "melon" and Interaxon? But Interaxon and ms.garten produce "muse"?? Do you know anything on the who's who in this industry.

    Bio or Neurofeedback only works as good as the person using it, I lowered my Blood pressure from High to low, and it seems to be permanent now, it took years of practice, but its now 90/50 on a daily basis, but I could never afford a good EEG machine, but that if finally going to change.
    Like Isaac Newton and Nicola Tesla, I believe we are the Light, so the key to understanding who we are is understanding what we are and how we are made, and this is one way to explore that.
    As a Computer Programmer I look forward to writing apps for such devices.

    Thanks for the reviews, this looks interesting. I'm a migraine sufferer and my left side becomes numb. I'd like to actually see what happens in my brain when this happens. I like Emotiv's EPOC it looks like it will give a lot of detail but the Insight seems much more practical as I would normally get a migraine when I am out and away from a computer and not in a position to apply the wet sensors. I don't have each of these devices available to try so I hope I'm choosing wisely

    • @krisatkinson1524
      @krisatkinson1524 9 лет назад +1

      Omar Ortiz I think Muse-- specifically designed for your condition, less expensive, and not too daunting technology (which could make you even more anxious!). I want Epoc for controlling and training concentration. Soon, I hope.

    • @omih25
      @omih25 9 лет назад

      Thanks both of you! I got the Muse. But I think (anyway) , will get (in the future) the Emotiv. I currently own Transparent Corp - Mind Workstation software, and the Emotiv can be connected (and can be used as an EEG device while using brainwave entrainment in the software).

    • @krisatkinson1524
      @krisatkinson1524 9 лет назад

      Omar Ortiz Good plan! Immediate self-help, then the expanded functionality/data later for business development. And the experience with both systems should be useful for R&D in your technology. We'll be interested to hear of your experience...

    Which one is more accurate in wave recording between Muse, Emotiv and Neurosky?

    • @CodyRallMD
      @CodyRallMD  8 лет назад

      I don't think anyone has done a rigorous study comparing them against each other. From my understanding, Muse actually uses sensors that were developed by Neurosky. Emotiv has their own sensors. There have been research studies that show accuracy of these devices being comparable to medical-grade. I think accuracy of the wave recordings is probably less of a concern at this point, than the associated software capabilities of the products.

    • @MikeKleinsteuber
      @MikeKleinsteuber 7 лет назад +1

      I found the Emotiv to be totally useless as a combination of artifacts and noise made the output valueless. Electrodes need to be still, in one position and have very good skin contact. Movement as you get with the Emotiv destroys any EEG data you may pick up.

    • @CodyRallMD
      @CodyRallMD  7 лет назад

      ***** Curious, which emotiv device were you using?

    • @grafixen
      @grafixen 7 лет назад

      After watching this video, I told myself I'd try looking into Emotiv since I already have Muse in hand. My main consideration is software, as I'm mainly doing development work. But after 1 week of trying to get pieces of information out of Emotiv, I noticed, their pure incompetency in answering any type of question. And after browsing their forum and looking into the developers section, it just confirmed they have a hard time keeping up with their software and sdk... making most customers unhappy and thus returning their products.
      I think it's fair to say, if you're looking to dive more into these devices, better to go with one, where their community is much more active, and the help desk is smart enough to provide you with the necessary information. Unfortunately Emotiv is not that one. Despite me thinking they have a beautiful product.
      I guess I'll stick with Muse at this point despite the very low batter life.

    hey :-)
    1st of all congrats for ur great work reviewing all those devices and providing very useful and scientific information about them...
    watched quite a few videos about this topic and u stand out BY FAR from all the others i watched!!
    so since u r the person with the best info i would like 2 ask u some things...
    i have been avoiding those devices for many years coz i thought 'so u can have results like EEGs??!yeaaah,right!' lol
    thought it was all some kind of scam...
    but a few days ago i read a review by 'coincidence' about someone using the muse for 1000 days 2 improve his meditations,and suddenly i thought 'hmmm,it looks like its really legit'...
    i have been meditating for ca 19 years now for 2.5 hrs per day on average,and i always wanted 2 check my brainwaves 2 c how the inner state translates into scientific data about my brain...so i like the thing muse does with the neurofeedback about those 3 states - active/neutral/calm - but i want more detailed info about the exact brainwaves,wrote them an email but they didnt answer yet,and watched somewhere a video where a guy said he called them but they told him its a secret lol
    since the ultimate goal of meditation is 2 withdraw completely from this world and this body in order 2 transcend physical body consciousness and enter regions above this 1,the brainwave i m interested in is obviously delta,since it goes along with the loss of bodily awareness...
    a few times over the years i managed 2 disconnect from my body but its not a state i can consciously control yet,so while watching all those videos i thought ' wow,thats exactly what i need,a device 2 measure my brainwaves and give me feedback while i m meditating so i know where i m in brainwaves,and then train myself this way 2 enter delta faster and also stay there longer,and also c when i drift away etc...
    so something like the muse does but without the constant sounds since its counterproductive 2 the meditation since it keeps ur attention on 1 of the senses,hearing...
    i found on their website the 'muse direct for ios'...r u familiar with that? is it recording all brainwaves and showing it in graphs?
    also heard u mentioning the muse monitor,which also seems like it could give me what i want,which is recording of the different brainwaves combined with the option of giving me neurofeedback through small sounds i can choose from or even 2 record my own voice saying beta/alpha/theta/delta etc
    also another thing i wanted 2 ask u...in ur muse review video u mentioned that the max time u can choose for a session is 45 minutes...is that true? coz i thought since the muse has battery life of 5hrs it could also record sessions up 2 5hrs,which is the max i put my timer when meditating...coz when i was able 2 disconnect from my body it was usually between 2.5 and 3.5hrs,so i need a device that records session of that length,and even more,til 5hrs...
    so with this in mind,what device would u recommend,and what app that gives me the options i want?

    I think a paralyzed person ..c4 quadriplegic. . And pacemaker dependant person such as myself has many issues ..questions about your presentation here. Muscles ..neurons blocked still have wacky signals that affect below the injury..ie c4 .. I know what over stimuli does and muscle and nerve warfare results .. but...also know the body has pathways always firing . Including in the heart which I have too many of in the atrium ..heart block doesn't erase it just as my spinal cord injury doesn't block wacky neurons trying to regenerate ..break through .. and not perceived by the brain correctly so spasticity. .hypertone. .Clonis exist.
    Things all normal spines have going on the spine fixed protects them to a limit. Look up on utube
    The Unfixed spine. A lady shows the spine .. in detail.

      Actually, it appears you are the one saying unsupported/negative things on the internet. You are calling the products junk and the discussion about it complete nonsense, yet you provide not even the tiniest amount of evidence to support your claim. Your claim of being a neurobiologist is another unsubstantiated claim.
