- I mellowed out on this one, my favorite version was Nat King Cole's.
I thought I'd close mic my vintage 280 (pre-war plates) to let all that great reed sound come through, as well as some air...I really tried to channel Ben Webster on this one.
The Actress Morph video was shamelessly grabbed from youtube, I thought it fit the tune better than my usual stuff.
I hope you enjoy it!
Sonorité magnifique et impros très mélodiques SUPER!!!!!
Lovely actresses in their youth, along with your expressive, lovely performance, thanks !
Beautiful, talented ladies, and jazz standards. Who can argue with your tastes, or talent?
Gorgeous song, wonderful musicianship and stunningly beautiful women, three minutes of heaven for all! Thanks !
Timeless beauties, esp. the earlier ones. Well done! What key chromatic please?
I REALLY like the way you work the low notes on that 16 hole. They never sound like a display, your style renders them essential to the mood of the song.
Extraordinary video and playing of one of my all time favorite tunes. Thanks
Had to come back and watch again.
PS just got your CDs I ordered..
I'll play them tomorrow.
Very well done. You picked all the best from days gone by just far enough forward.
GOOD
Awesome playing and video. Amazing.
BRAVO Jason !
Beautiful video also.
Regards.
Christian.
Beautiful ! :-)
Jason your choice of notes and expression have made this classic tune a masterpiece and the video is a perfect touch. Very nice touch with your breath control.. what a pleasure to watch and listen to you.
Love it!!
Great rendition, as usual :)
Très beau son et belle utilisation du régistre grave du 16 trous
One of my favorite ballads. Everybody's favorite I guess. I never even thought about trying to get that subtone sound on harp. It's hard enough to get it on tenor! Great job!
Sweet
Magnifique !
Im new to harmonicas and I love the darker tones (more similar to sax tenor). Your videos and your softness on playing jazz on harps are driving me to buy a 64 or 56 harp. Would love to see you playing tenderly on a 64 harp!! please! :)
In fact, this was done on an older 64...
+Bluesbop Nice. So thats explain the amazing sound. Do you anything about Hering harmonicas? Here in Brazil the equivalent version of Suzuki Chromatix SCX64 is half the price. As a newbie Im considering the Hering for the price but Im scared about the tone. I really want a more mellow and velvet tone as your harp. Thanks!
+Bluesbop Okay, as long as we're talking about tone and sound, 90% comes from the player. A good Hering will sound just as "mellow" as a Hohner, I've owned them all. Most of the differences are in the way it responds to the way you blow, and how comfy the slider is. I used to have a Deluxe Hering 64 that I really loved, unfortunately they're not easily available in The U.S. I do have a Stan Harper Hering, 56, but it's pretty leaky...
+Bluesbop Yep, tone and sound. Im totally new to harmonicas but not to music theory, I play other instruments. Glad to hear from you about the Hering Deluxe 64, is exactly the one Im talking about. Im sure 90% is the player but sometimes I think some harmonicas are too bright and high. I prefer the lower tones and those 64s are beautiful to play some jazz ballads with the calmness and softness of Ben Webster and Sonny Rollins with the touch of harmonica tone. So, as I never played harmonicas before I looking for 64s that are not so crazy difficult to blow/draw. I dont mind being difficult but Im surely dont want to be defeatead by the harp. The Herings are very easy to find here but Hohner and Suzuki are very difficult. Is Hering Deluxe 64 the one to begin? I've found great reviews about the easeness to play of suzuki SCX64 but zero for the Hering ones. Thanks for helping me.
Beautiful ! BYW, where can I found the background track?
Where did you get that actor morph video?! Why does it only show white women as if they are the only actresses worthy?! I thought perhaps it was showing actresses from the age of black and white but then Michelle Pfeiffer came in!!!
mambojazz1 I just grabbed it off of RUclips. You’re absolutely right- there should be women of color represented.
@@Bluesbop lol. yea.
@@Bluesbopvery truth GKC VS EUGENICS LEON

Great tune that really does the chromatic justice. What key of harp are you playing in? I tried to play along with my C chromatic, but it is not right. Awesome video as well.
Tongue block or pucker ~ which is your technique ?
Nice, btw- is your band gigging anywhere?
Will you make up your mind lefty or righty
More pretty girls please!
The video was too interesting - I forgot to listen to the music ;-) (the first time)
No Halle Berry??
AH, I was hoping you had done the video yourself, as it needs a few changes. Unfortunately, since doing this video, Joan Fontaine, Maureen O'Hara and Lauren Bacall have all passed away.
