Yup, it lacks the feeling of dread and personality of the first game because the little people aren't walking through chest deep snow to gather resources.
Capable of great pain and suffering, or being a hero (people can take there pick if they want to be evil or good that's if it doesn't get them murdered by the people)
you forgot to upgrade your generator to be able to use the steam as warmth/fuel. there was a research for it which you unlocked but didn't actually place on the generator
An interesting option for an alternative take on Frostpunk, would be, not just Heatpunk or Droughtpunk (although those might also perhaps be interesting), but a setting where the weather/season swings between the two extremes. We already have summer and winter obviously, but if every winter was a Frostpunk whiteout, and every summer was the opposite extreme, and you had to build a city that could adapt to both...

I found it best to build industrial district late as possible. You can get by with low materials for a while. Its best to use extract district early to soak all the prefab nodes on the map first as they use a lot less heat and mats.
3:04:44 The automated workforce factory produces workforce (automatons) not goods, the upgrade was the goods factory, and the prefabs factory, I think.
The reason you were so scatterbrained and forgetful probably had something to do with how you kept speeding up time to the max. You'd want to do something, then you'd go do something else, and next thing you know 50 weeks have gone by. Case in point: 2:20:30. I was tearing my hair out that you just needed to read the option below that to repair the furnaces.

Whiteout are not nearly as bad as they were in the first game, in the first game it's the final test, it's existential, in this game it's more like a natural disaster, still bad but probably won't kill you
There was a point when I was watching around before the whiteout began at 2:10:55, and I noticed you didn't have any fuel stockpile in your materials colony. This may be my lack of experience, but that had me stressed
I dunno man, I feel like your saying 'I forgot' for every single demand every single faction in every single Frostpunk 1/2 run ever. Doesn't help when there is a compilation of all your runs.
You always forget to expand both logistics bays then you complain about not having teams to go find resources gotta make you expand both and research the logistics bays if your bot expanding everything there's really no point to expanding everything to meet the rise in demand your causing
