Thank you for posting this video. I must admit, I've done a lot of research for our wood stove installation. I ordered from numerous online stores to get all of the double wall pipes and thru the wall kit. I ordered the 6DVL-ADT chimney adapter as well. I went with the telescoping pipe for the interior double walled pipe. Again, many thanks for the video. Lol, in your comment section, a gentleman commented that females are incapable of such tasks. I researched, ordered all the parts, and will be helping my husband install our stove. I even researched and ordered the stove. I hope you and your wife enjoy your off grid home. Many blessings to you both!
Many blessings to you and your husband too. Any man who really knows women understands that they have strengths that we men can’t match. God knew what He was doing when He made y’all girls! I am happy the video was helpful. Thanks for watching!
@TheLovelyPlace Thank you so much for your kind words. I could tell you did a lot of research as well. I have probably watched every RUclips video out there about thru the wall installation. Each time, at the end, I was discouraged and sickened that the people installing the wood stove had to cut thru their roof soffit or roof overhang. We only have a small 20×10 amish made cabin at our farm. We live across the street from our farm, but we just wanted to be able to have a small cabin on that side of the road. I have made this my mission to be our off grid safe place. Thanks a bunch!
oh and btw, the smoke was caused by the oscillating tool running too fast, there are certain speeds recommended for certain materials and blades :). slow and steady keeps the temp down.
Yup real good job recording, the only thing I didn’t really like was that you had to retrofit the chimney cap. The manufacturer needs to do more work there.👍🏽
Hello, Great Video! I enjoyed watching and learning. According to my manual, "The Joints of any and all connections for any ventilation systems (combustion exhaust and optional inlet air duct) MUST BE SEALED WITH HIGH TEMPERATURE SILICONE" What are your thoughts on this? I didn't see you use silicone on the pipe joints, but I did notice you mentioned using silicone on the "Through the wall kit". Can anyone shed some light on this? Much appreciated. Thanks
Adding two 90 degree elbow and most your chimney will be outside is already a tough application for draft. That damper in your connector pipe will make it harder… I hope you’re burning fir that’s under 15% moisture
No need for a damper "on the pipe" for a wood stove. It's used much more on a coal stove. The wood stove has an air "open and close." There's no point to the damper on the pipe.
Can I ask why you didn't go straight up through the roof? Easier to clean and you don't need this odd cleanout box on the outside wall? Just curious is all before I install mine. Thanks for the vid!
Hi ! I having questions I’m installing the same thing and I’m noticing I have space between my dura tech pipe and thimble in side and out side like almost quarter of inch , how a can seal that ?
@@vladkuchma196 I am trying to remember and picture this. Don’t hold me to it and do some research but I believe I first purchased some steel rivits and I riveted that area and then I used an RTV sealant. It is high temperature. But I’m not sure if we’re talking about the same area. Feel free to send me more info.
Maybe you should do a video for people that don't have a couple Thousand dollars to spend on a stove install ! For that price you could have hired it out . 😕
@catman19 Sweetie, I not only have a Comp Sci engineering degree, but I am in the last stages of building my own house. Too many women have been trained in childhood to think they are helpless. (Too many men, too.) If you can throw off that programming, you can pretty much do anything, regardless of what gonads you carry. Edit: by building, I actually do mean with my own hands.
@regwatson2017 I know. And it is so sad. People, in general, are babies. Whatever happened to that pioneering spirit? Our ancestors were total superheroes.
Nice to see such a genuine presentation. My hats off to you sir😊

Thanks so much, doing an install on my own tiny cabin and this is very helpful!

Awesome video Sean! Thank you for sharing! Perseverance pays off my friend!
Great work! This is by far the best explanation video on RUclips. Definitely the most comprehensive. Thanks for posting. You’re a great teacher.

Is there any kind of issue having a woodstove so close to window glass?
Great work down to the screws

Hey, I have a loft above the stove that I could not go through. The ceiling is probably a better plan. Thank you!!!
Heights could be issue, easier for woman to clean out box.

A air tight stove does not need or want a damper
Looks good. What size screws did u use to attach the tee wall support with
16"
Just turn the top of that 30 degree piece to line up straight
Part number for 30 degree angle plz
I don’t remember th part number but think I show it on the previous video in the series. It may be the next video. It is definitely in one of them.

When your checking for straight up and down vertical its plumb not level
THE HIGHER YOU MOUNT THE STOVE THE LESS HEAT YOULL GET FOR HEATING BECAUSE HEAT RISES...JUST SAYING...
I absolutely agree but that little stove is going to bake us in that tiny place. Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas!
