    As someone who has never done anything like this before & has no clue how to make it up to code without burning my house down, I GREATLY appreciated this video!!
    My brain felt like mush, & my anxiety was through the freaking roof trying to figure all this out by myself!
    I live too far for a professional to come do it for me, & I feel like there isn't enough detailed information from these manufacturing companies to really give you the reassurance you need when you're doing it on your own!
    Your literal step by step video made a MASSIVE world of a difference for me!
    I can't thank you enough!! 🙏🙏🙏

      @@ChanelleDeVore well I really appreciate your comment. I have to tell you that I truly understand exactly where you’re coming from. I felt the exact same way before I started this project and almost all the way through it. Lol. I couldn’t find anything that laid it out like you and I both needed it done. looking back at it now. I certainly could’ve done better but did my best to provide you guys with all of the information that you might need to at least start from. I will say this, by the end of the project it was absolutely satisfying! There’s nothing like tackling something that is bigger than you’ve done and seeing it through. All the best to you and yours and a very merry Christmas!

    Thank you for posting this video. I must admit, I've done a lot of research for our wood stove installation. I ordered from numerous online stores to get all of the double wall pipes and thru the wall kit. I ordered the 6DVL-ADT chimney adapter as well. I went with the telescoping pipe for the interior double walled pipe. Again, many thanks for the video. Lol, in your comment section, a gentleman commented that females are incapable of such tasks. I researched, ordered all the parts, and will be helping my husband install our stove. I even researched and ordered the stove. I hope you and your wife enjoy your off grid home. Many blessings to you both!

      @TheLovelyPlace Thank you so much for your kind words. I could tell you did a lot of research as well. I have probably watched every RUclips video out there about thru the wall installation. Each time, at the end, I was discouraged and sickened that the people installing the wood stove had to cut thru their roof soffit or roof overhang. We only have a small 20×10 amish made cabin at our farm. We live across the street from our farm, but we just wanted to be able to have a small cabin on that side of the road. I have made this my mission to be our off grid safe place. Thanks a bunch!

    Hello, Great Video! I enjoyed watching and learning.
    According to my manual, "The Joints of any and all connections for any ventilation systems (combustion exhaust and optional inlet air duct) MUST BE SEALED WITH HIGH TEMPERATURE SILICONE" What are your thoughts on this? I didn't see you use silicone on the pipe joints, but I did notice you mentioned using silicone on the "Through the wall kit". Can anyone shed some light on this? Much appreciated. Thanks

    Hi,
    I enjoy your video on through the wall chimney exhaust. When you had the tee through the outside hole, it called for 8 penny nails. Did you follow that instruction and how to keep them position is confusing. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

      I do recall the 8 penny nail instruction but I can't remember how I handled that. I wish I could tell ya but I'm not sure where that was in the process exactly. I feel like that was mentioned to keep it in place while you work. If it is what I think, I may have used smaller bolts there. Sorry, just don't know for sure. I wish you the best of luck! My kit, (super vent) did not have the section of pipe to go through the wall/thimble. We were sitting here thinking wtf, no way the single wall pipe is to somehow free float in there and attach to the T. We did come to the conclusion that we are Missing the through the wall, double walled pipe. What kind of stupid "through the wall" kit does not come with the darn "through the wall" pipe? The one I bought I guess. Argh. Feel like I bit off a tad more than I can chew on this one. But I need wood heat in my off grid place. Hate propane. Wet and weak heat. Come home to a cold place due to not wanting to run the propane heater while not home. Your video is very helpful. The kit I bought should be called a "thimble kit" if they did not want to include the darn "through the wall" pipe. A 9" section of it at least. 4k including the $600 lil stove. I expected everything to be there.

      @TheLovelyPlace I bought a tent stove 😩.
      Thankfully I didn't go full dummy and I bought the biggest one available that's still actually usable and I found that there isn't a kit for it but there are options to either buy each piece individually or use a 5" to 6" increaser at the stove's inlet, but there's some junk about possible cooling down when the heat suddenly transfers into a larger cavity that could be a potential problem since 5" diameters struggle with proper air current draws from the outside, a way to get around this is to hyperextend a super expensive double walled 8' chimney pipe straight up, the taller on smaller diameters the better. (In case anyone stumbles on this very specific problem in the future, if you bought a tent stove by mistake depending on how much you spent it may be cheaper to buy a standard 6" than to spend $2000 on the accessories you'll need to install it) Thanks for the calvary call BTW✋I learned that I challenged myself awhile ago as I unnecessarily tend to do.

    No need for a damper "on the pipe" for a wood stove. It's used much more on a coal stove. The wood stove has an air "open and close." There's no point to the damper on the pipe.
