so.... is there a video on the wood stove removal and install or is there NOT a video on the wood stove removal and install? was curious.. but now exhausted from trying to find video... lost interest...
Gentlemen, you've outdone yourself, what a great stove. Too much to comment on, my favourite episode so far and a shout out to another cool channel, thank you!
Sean I really enjoy watching you and your dad working together! Never take it for granted! You guys need to sell plans on building wood stoves! Please keep the videos coming!
Ohhh and I also burn my used oil in my DOUBLE BARREL STOVE I ❤love it. Save on wood and Heats really good. Just be sure to get water and antifreeze out of oil and run through a filter also run copper line around chimney of stove once or twice first to superheat oil before dripping it onto wood. WORKS AWESOME
Sean I enjoy Fab Rats. BUT I really like your channel more. You and your Dad do really cool stuff. Keep up the cool videos. Your blessed to have your Dad by your side. P.S. I want the the red and white truck.😊😊
Very cool! I had a general idea as to how to make a stove out of a tank, but y'all showed me a few things I hadn't thought about! Thanks for another great video.
Wow what a challenging project building this stove out of a propane tank was! It was good that Shane had already built one before so that experience helped a lot in the fabrication of Clayton's. Father and Son to the rescue. Good video and content as usual!
Another great video. The wood stove i have in my house Your dad (my brother) made years ago. It's my only source of heat i use and after 40 years it's still cranking out heat. I love it. good job guys and happy Thanksgiving ❤
Love the channel, so awesome to see guys with the ingenuity and skills to create, instead of simply running out to buy like the majority of people do these days! I GUARANTEE that wood stove will last longer and work better than 90% of the stoves you could buy that cost thousands of dollars.
Sitting here enjoying a cup of coffee looking outside with approximately 4 inches of fresh snow ,it's -20 C (-4F) watching another great episode of 89 built . Thanks Sean and Shane 🙏 keep up the creative content 👍
Love the build the old man is one hell of a fabricator I see where Sean gets it from now and thank you so much for letting us know where Hunter is it's great to see him again and once again awesome stove 👍👍
Before you cut into a ny flamavle tank hook the exhaust from a gas engine to the tank and run it. the exhaust is primarily CO2 (carbpm dioxode). just let the engine tun, make the first cuts with a cutoff disc 0.050" +/-. it works nicely and makes the door fit easily. Heads up on your squeeil cage fan, That typw of fan needs a down stream restriction to keep from overloading the electric motor. you can run the fan with an amp meeter on the motor then add restriction till the motor draws about 5 to 10 percent less current. If you don't do this the fan motor will fail, so setting the current will make the fan will last forever. (with an occasional oiling of the motor bushings) Great video! Deffently find some yellow header paint for a minion!
Watching you is an absolute pleasure. Your range of skills and experience reminds me of my father and grandfathers who could turn their hands to anything. Big thumbs up from a friend in the UK
Y'alls knowledge and skills with metal and Clayton's skills with wood just fascinate me to no end. I so enjoy watching you all fabricate and build stuff! I hope Clayton gets some more vids up soon. Have missed him! Thanks for your videos. Look forward to lots more. You guys are so interesting!
I only have fading memories and photographs of my old man. It's cool you will have the videos to go along with the memories when you're the grandpa doing projects with your boys and telling stories.
That was a nice little heater your Dad cooked up. We used ti build them many tears ago...back in the early 70's. Used to work in a shop and built smaller heaters...but we burned coke in them. A little bit more heat...ours were about half your size. They worked really well. Wish I listened more when they welded...I might have learned something. Another great build. You fellas should put you signature on your finished work.
Sean, that was a very cool project...very interesting, entertaining and educational all at the same time. That wood/oil stove is floor space efficient with it's small footprint and it will CRANK THE HEAT OUT with that blower running when the thing gets up to temperature. It would be cool if Clayton were to add a heavy duty rheostat next to the On/Off switch for the blower to be able to control how much air flow comes out of the top to have full adjustability of the heat output with any level of fire going.
Love the videos. I did heat and air conditioning 45 years before I retired. Check the temp next to your roof sometime after your stove has been on for a while. You may be surprised how much heat has gone to the roof. I have mounted fans in several shops to move that heat back to floor. You might wind up chopping less wood.
Growing up in Rural Northern Michigan I am all about Repurpose Recycle and Re-Use..Also when my Father and I built his shop stove we had similar issues with the pipe sealing..We used "Rock Wool" to fill the gap no smoke ever gets through and its fireproof..Also for the doors to seal them we took the extra step and added door seal rope like you would in a indoor wood stove..Not that anyone understands heating your house with wood anymore..lmao!
My brother that got killed several years ago taught me how to weld when I was 10 and we built around 300 stoves over the years for homes and we used the same rope to seal the doors
Morning! I watch your channel mostly on a big screen so I can't comment. Instead, I will "like" every comment hopefully to drive more hits on the algorithm? One item I would need to add for my shop heater would be a shelf for the campfire coffee pot. I drink coffee all day to get my vitamin C, caffeine! Thank you and Dad for the video.
@@89Built Is that an arc droid on the plasma table? If so how do you like it? I was looking at Langmuir for a while until I saw the fb ads for arc droid.
These are the projects I LOVE to watch. I'd rather be doing it but circumstances stand in the way. You guys work so well together. Good to see Hunter again.
Your dad is more than certified to read a level. He is a small town, farm raised, self taught, self-employed, Grandpa, get it done kind of person. No better kinda man for creating stuff out of junk. My dad is the same way, so I know how you grew up. My dad made a wood stove with a coil inside of it to heat water for our home and many other things to make life more simple and handy to live the country life.
That stove is so steam punk and a work of art ,AWESOME. I wish i was closer, you would be building me 1 for sure, just might be a new side gig guys. Stoves R us.lol
I could smell that tank from here. I’ve been away from the propane industry for nearly 25 years but I’ll never forget the “lovely” smell of ethyl mercaptan. We never had a horizontal tank that small but a 420lb cylinder(123 gallon tank) looks a little fatter around but would work well.
I love the interaction with your dad. You are blessed still having him around. I lost mine just over 19years ago and miss moments like these. He taught me loads on DIY and I am thankful for the time I had with him! Be Blessed
Sean, I was the one that saw you in Costco today. I live in L.A but am visiting my Dad in Mesquite, NV. So I was looking down that isle waiting for him and recognized you in front of him. Neither you or me had time to chat, so a quick hand shake was perfect. As I was saying, " you've been recognized ", I was so hoping I didn't have the wrong guy. LOL. When you talked, I knew it was you. Anyway, hope your trip to town was great. Love the videos. Be safe!
I was confused if you were trying to get my attention or your dads. But it worked for both of us. It was a pleasure to meet you sorry we didn’t have time to chat longer.
You n Dad do some Amazing Fab work yourselves... Must be a family trait... you're all FabRats of some nature.. thats ment as a Compliment.. Great Video Sean, thanks for sharing with us.
Just FYI, the stove pipe should be installed so the crimped end goes into the exhaust port on the top of the stove rather than the uncrimped end going on the outside of the exhaust port (like how funnels nest together). You install stove pipe this way so that creosote in the chimney can't leak out of the joint. If creosote gets on the outside of the pipe, it can catch on fire and start a larger fire inside the shop. That might be important in a shop that has a lot of sawdust in it.
Plus when the creosote runs down the outside of the pipe, it looks awful and will drip from any elbows. You want to keep any condensed moisture, etc. on the INside at all times. Great job on the rest of it though! :)
Great video Sean, you and Shane are awesome craftsmen. Very innovating and extremely talented! I love the work you do and I look forward to seeing what y'all are up to next! Keep up the great work!!
Go check out @sawdustandlugnuts to see us struggle getting Claytons old stove out and this one installed!!
Hmmm did look like an odd spot where his old stove was.

Heck yeah that’s good news! Careful hunter can burn a cord a day!! You’re gonna need some extra fire wood.
When my Dad quit farming he took to repairing home appliances. I worked with him for a couple of years. Best years of our lives.
I need to make a mini one of those, great video guys. Keep them coming.
I have a 35 gallon propane tank I’m going to use to build my neighbor a smaller version with for his shop
