Great install mate that pump is silent very nice. i fitted one in my caddy in a metal box under the van where the spare wheel is yours is probably a better location
Great neat installation the way it should be done,I’m x truck driver and of course these heaters are fitted in trucks from new we call em night heaters for obvious reasons,the only thing maintenance wise is to keep the air intake inside the vehicle clean because they suck up a lot of fluff etc and the heater thermostatically shuts down.

The night heaters have to have glow plug up as when fuel injected into the chamber it goes onto the glow plug but when upside down small ammounts of vapour dont hit the injector and collect in the chamber then leak out the manifold, learned same way as you but fit few into hgv and various motors threw out the year. Love the channel would love a caddy but need more space so got a vito and not paying transporter prices 🤣
Hey bud truck drivers have had a toasty cab over the years and I guess the Chinese copy’s now flooding the market has now made them more affordable and being stuck in a lot of vehicles. I never knew about the glow plug having to be faced up but I do now so will know for the future. I like a Vito 👍 good vans. Yes transporter tax is abit ridiculous. Appreciate the kind words mate 🙏

I installed a maxpeedingrods jobby underneath my T5, From what I can tell most of these heaters if installed on the wonk normally need the cables coming out the top. Dunno if this helps, but I thought I'd share ;) (ah ye!)
Yeh they work ok on their side ( glow up ) the diesel comes out of the ignition air hole in the blow plug tube. We use a Jackery for power in the Shed/Gym - lights - heating & music - not seen the Mrs for the last three months 😂😂😂👍

Second name is dobson so a handfull of friend over the years have brought something to me needing to be fixed and they would say it needs some DobTechEngineering, channel used to be called that but abit of a mouthful so a couple years ago i abbreviated it to DTE and I’m from the Era of MTV so I got creative and DTE TV 🤷 thanks bud for the interest 👍

Hey bud I’ve never played with a vw webasto, they are controlled via canbus on them. They should store fault codes so maybe a plug in might show up some faults 👍
@@luke2995 hi mate the OEM aux heater only works at 3 degrees and below, if it’s 4 degrees or hotter it won’t switch on. Your air con has to be on or in auto. It won’t turn on in ECO mode. Mine smoked like top of the pops 1987 then it’s been fine, forget I had it until the blowers were warm third lamppost down the street. Hope yours is a quick fix 👍🏻🤩
@ yep it would clear the windscreen warm up the cab and just blow nice put the vents, haha I do the same when I get an idea I sometimes even go so far to buy a vehicle for a project 😂

If you ever get to install a fan on the new T5 - give me a shout. Would be good to try installing the nice OEM way. I can supply the 3d printed step grille that looks like OEM. There are some ways how to make it look OEM but not at the cost of OEM (brackets etc).
any good tips for oil flush so your brand new oil doesnt look like its done 10k miles after 5 mins last service i pump in the sump emptied oil cooler etc went all out and its still pure black i use mannal energy pd 5w40

That’s the new front bumper for the white T5 I picked up a couple weeks ago. Still collecting parts so when the times comes I can just get busy without waiting on stuff 👍
Nice install Nath. Do these come with a grill fitting so it's not just the flexi pipe sticking into the van? Seems a lot more people are going down the power pack route. No instal required and you can take them out and about with you. Some run some big power to handle kettles and the like. Looking forward to the T5.1 resto.🤟
Hey David yes they come with a little round vent to go ont he end of the pipe, they actually come with a t piece and 2 plastic vents in the kit. These modern power packs are brilliant it’s my first experience. Yes I’m collecting bits for the T5 👍

I fitted one under the passenger seat 3 years ago in my caddy maxi still working great and fitted one to my mates caddy last week

Could you run the heat output pipe up through a Touran centre console which has vents for the rear seat passengers?
Hey Jon me and Rowan spoke about this, I said to him we could even plumb it into the actual blowers as the Touran arm wrestling is right there.

There’s an air vent next to the glow plug, that’s why you need the glow plug at the top.

The instructions do say if mounted on the side the power wire must be facing upwards. Not that I read the manual 😅

Id6 fuel conector for the spare nipple and the diesel heater fuel pipe needs to be at the top not the bottom like you have it
