I live near a fairly well-off neighborhood in the US, and you see these signs popping up that say, "against anti-semitism and islamophobia". It's amazing to me what a level of ignorance that shows to express something like that. I listen to EI and their interviews like this and no one even bothers to bring up religious differences because they're completely irrelvant, or just a distraction, at most. No one from Lebanon or the Occupied territories seems to see this conflict as having anything to do with religion. It's always been about land. Who controls the land, and who gets to have 'peace and security' flows downstream from that. This journalist is quite clear that the people in Lebanon aren't going anywhere.

Here's how far it reaches: in Canada the Indigenous people, who were very nearly exterminated and who continue to be treated as second class, look at the Palestinians and the Lebanese (and the Yemeni, and the Iraqi, and and and..) and draw inspiration and renewed energy to continue the struggle for justice. Resistance movements around the world are looking and learning that it is possible to go on. It's amazing to me what a level of ignorance that shows to express something like that. I listen to EI and their interviews like this and no one even bothers to bring up religious differences because they're completely irrelvant, or just a distraction, at most. No one from Lebanon or the Occupied territories seems to see this conflict as having anything to do with religion. It's always been about land. According to Roqayah Chamseddine, the Lebanese people only fear humiliation and disgrace, but they do not fear death. If that is true, then they are Samurai. So, the IDF is facing off against Lebanese Samurai, they are in for a very, very bad time.
