Israel can take the fight directly to Iran by striking their oil fields, key military installations and downgrading their nuclear capability. Iran is vulnerable. I disagree with the Professor’s assessment: Israel can seriously damage Iran’s military capability.
the professor is an antisemite, no more no less. You can check also with the antisemite Judge Napolitano that the professor spread fake news about an Israeli Channel 12 poll which was unconfirmed by Reuters agency.
'Seriously damage' and 'defeat' are two very different things, and I think Professor Mearsheimer's point is that Israel's aggressively militant actions against Hezbollah and most likely Iran before long are not going to lead it to a better political situation for its own citizens in the long-run, no matter what short-term victories might be on the horizon.

I think that line of thought is really cavalier from someone thousands of miles away. I know if I was getting rockets shot into my city, that would be a big problem for me. What happened to Mearsheimer? Either I wasn't paying close attention to his earlier comments, or he has been replaced by drone. He believes showing restraint is evidence that Iran can't respond. I don't know if Iran can respond but not doing so isn't evidence that they can't. Mearsheimer sounds like every other American on the street. There is no insight here.
