It’s a cool DC story, it’s a cool Batman story, it’s a cool Superman story and it was one of the most innovative Lego games ever, possibly even the most. It has a fantastic atmosphere, a PHENOMENAL open world, fantastic levels with great locations and designs, it respects the characters and portrays them perfectly, and above it was insanely fun without being annoying. Best
The only thing they should have done is For Lego dc super villain so it should’ve been iconic LEGO Batman 2 Gotham. Even with LEGO Batman 2 metropolis, like they made a bridge in the middle of the sea going to metropolis. And Gotham the same, just with some interiors. Like Wayne manor, some banks. And the theatre, but in full open world camera.
I played this game non-stop with my brothers on the 360, and I get hit with a wave of nostalgia whenever I see it. Thanks for making a video on it man.
I love how they went with a hybrid of Tim Burton's Gotham City from the Anton Furst Gothic Architecture but combined that with the Neon Lights and Massive Statues features in the Joel Schumacher films such as Batman Forever. Felt like an evolution of the first game which was heavily inspired visually by Batman 89 not to mention the Danny Elfman soundtrack. Also loved how they they expanded the universe with the Justice League Members and of course Superman showing up blasting the John Williams theme song.
I don't know what it is, but this game gives a greater feeling of nostalgia than any game I've ever played. The only other game that's really comparable for me is Mario Kart 64
6:16 Actually some characters like Red Hulk, Kurse and Sentinel have mini bosses Shattared around the map so technically there are SOME characters that you can unlock through mini bosses. Just thought I'd point that out
Couldn’t agree more. I remember this on the wii, and there was no experience more enjoyable than this game. To the graphics especially, the gameplay, open world, and the wide range of characters. One of my favorite parts is how many characters they added to the second one.
This is easily one of my favorite Lego games ever. On the entire subject of voice acting in Lego games, I’ll say this… I think the voice acting in these games is good (here are the key words people) WHEN. DONE. RIGHT. This game in my opinion does it right because not every line in the cutscenes was a joke, the actors here feel like they’re speaking from the heart and sure there’s an occasional goofy line here and there but it actually feels more natural and well earned (unlike some other games down the lines, isn’t that right Lego Marvel Super heroes 2!) and I’m sorry but there’s no way you could’ve told this story and not have voice acting, it’s not super complex for it’s time it’s was a very story driven game so voice acting here seemed like the most logical step

When revisiting the game, I was absolutely shocked by how well written the dialogue is for the most part. Like, I couldn't stand Joker in this game both because of the writing and voice, but in most other cases, it was shockingly well written, even clever at points. I think the Lego voice acting really shines in the games with original plots more so than direct adaptations. The story was also genuinely fun, which was another huge shock.
Yes, I completely agree with you. I loved this game as a kid although I have to say I may have preferred when characters didn’t speak in Lego games, it added that much more charm to these games that I think they don’t have anymore. Nice video dude!
Thanks dude, yeah as I said it really depends on the person, I personally like it but others don't, and I can see where you're coming from. But thank you very much for the support!
And guess what it’s the cut scenes, but better re-animated I did just for the movie and of course the Joker mix eyes actually glow in this movie although Sarah, hardly, they removed the scarecrow fights giant Aircraft level The sewer level and even the final boss, but they reanimated the cut scenes and made them better and of course they even animated new sections that sometimes even adapt the gameplay footage in a cinematic way, but shorten it and this movie in summary is an abridged version of the game with the cut scenes. Of the game redone and they actually look better. Surprisingly in addition, there is new footage added that slightly adapt the gameplay footage but sometimes they’re inaccurate sometimes and of course Batman and Robin they’re always in their normal default suits for some reason and of course also, for some reason they removed some levels like the giant aircraft, one and the final boss I swear you should make more videos about Lego Batman, two

While I do think this game is fine, it's the fact that the mix of the map being on the pause menu instead of being mapped to a designated button, the bad flying controls and the confusing minikit/collectible locations makes this game more worthy of a buy to play though and earn every trophy/achievement and to never touch again.
id say lego batman 2 is sort of the 808s and heartbreak of lego games, hugely influential, flawed however ahead of its time and doing things no other game had done before

Well, introducing open world might be actually a mark against Lego Batman 2. I mean, I love Lego CIty as much as the next guy but just look at what happened in Skywalker Saga. I mean, 700 kyber bricks? Lego games are tedious enough forcing you to replay the levels.
I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this game. I personally think that while this game is great, it ultimately caused the TT Lego series downfall. BACKSTORY: I’ve spent a lot of my life playing Lego Games, specifically Lego Star Wars TCS, Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, Lego Batman 2 & 3, and Lego Marvel Super Heroes. However, I spent more time on TCS and Clone Wars than every other Lego game I’ve played combined. I also played some Lego Harry Potter, some Lego Batman 1, and some Lego Indiana Jones. I loved the older, pre-talking Lego games (Lego Star Wars: The Video Game - Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7) a lot more. The character rosters were smaller with little to no filler characters, the levels were actually fun and not a chore, and they had a certain charm to them that the post Lego Batman 2 games have never been able to replicate. Lego Lord of the Rings, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, and Lego City Undercover, the first three games released after Batman 2, are the only post Batman 2 Lego games that I still enjoyed from front to back. I think that the talking, tons of filler characters, big open worlds, side quests, and longer levels ultimately destroyed most of the charm that the older Lego games had then and still have to this day. I think Lego Batman 2 is great, but what spawned because of it and Lego Marvel Super Heroes especially just isn’t that great. And now we have Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Saga, which isn’t a bad game, just feels a regular Star Wars game with Lego Characters.
