    YAAS!!! I love effects animation!! One of the clearest explanations I've ever heard. I really like the thought of drawing forms rather than abstract shapes. Nice tut as always! :D

      The best thing about animation, is worst case scenario, you make something that looks bad and you just try again :).

      It's perspective. Start with drawing cubes, cylinders and spheres with lines. As you get comfortable with that create more complex forms.

    this is really helpful thank you so much, I am considering going into fx animation and I was wondering if you have any advice on creating an fx showreel and where to start job wise, it would be greatly appreciated :)

    • @StylusRumble
      @StylusRumble  2 года назад +1

      The best thing to do is look at the studios you want to apply to and see what type of FX those shows have.
      In general we like to see some cycles, a few different elements. Also it helps to see if you can do compositing or technical fx like particles.
      But it varies a lot from place to place. A preschool fx animator is a team of 1, so generalists do better. In prime time, they have bigger teams so they can hire specialists, like someone who doesn't know anything about comp/ tech but can animate traditionally very well.

    • @StylusRumble

      I have no plan. I usually just pick a random topic every week. I do have an fx playlist that has some smoke and fire on there.

    Great video! May I ask you if you do effects always straight ahead or are there times where you animate them pose to pose?

    • @StylusRumble
      @StylusRumble  4 года назад +1

      I rarely do fx pose to pose unless it's something very structural like folding clothes.
      Sometimes I'll do a rough pass and it's not unusual to add or remove frames throughout the process but most of the time straight ahead is the way to go.
