You failed because you were at a disadvantage. You are not from up north and there is no way a southern boy can hang in the cold. You failed also because you were afraid to go further into the woods. You could have set up a second base camp and push deeper in. You failed also because you do not know how to fish, or you were too lazy to keep trying. The main reason you failed though is because your head was back home and not in the game. Just FYI $500k will not fix your kid or make him better. It might not have helped at all. The sad reality of autism when it is severe is when the parents die, and no one can handle the 50-year-old kid with autism that bangs his head on the wall. The kid just ends up in a home eating Jello. It is just a fact of life. Sort of like in the wild. You have to kill to eat and that is how life is. People fall by the wayside and at the end of the day no one cares.
@NightThings99 it takes a very miserable person to talk to someone so harsh about things they aren't 100% certain of. I feel bad for you, and I hope that you can find happiness even if it has to be through degrading others. Whatever is so bad in your life that you feel the need to belittle others, I'm sorry. Take a step back and try to fix yourself, not break others. It won't happen here. I know every step and shot and throw that was taken on my small spot of land. I also know that you don't because I was alone, so there is no way you could have seen what I saw. With all that being said, have a great day. Remember, making others smile will make you happy. Trying to make others feel like they are less than you just makes you look like an idiot to those who know the truth. Thanks for the views. You're helping me realize my dream of becoming a pro RUclipsr. I really appreciate that. Try some of my other videos if you would like to leave comments there, too.
@@mikeyheltonjr Your mind is your problem. If your mind and heart was better, you could have made it to the end. You have to forget the family in those situations and focus on your reality. I have kids with autism but when I was in Iraq for 2 years fighting, I did not focus on them and tried not to think about them. Why? Because it does absolutely no good for the mindset. Saw lots of guys crying about their kids, wife or focusing on them in Iraq. 50% of those guys ended up getting shot, blown up or sent back to the states because they became useless. If you were focused on your situation and not the family back home, I would not had to watch countless episodes of you crying for them and moping around in your tent. Look at Alan and Wyatt they talked about their family at times, but they did not do it constantly. You have the skills but you were lazy on that show and did not venture out. The one guy made a boat and you made a toy. The guy that made the boat Taz had major skills also but he started thinking about his kids too much and taped out. It is not me being harsh. It is the reality of the situation. When you have skills but your mind is weak you tap out.
@NightThings99 thank you. Now I see what your talking about. You believe everything you see on TV. And you weren't alone in Iraq. I appreciate your feedback and I will probably never not think of my family and just be weak minded. I'm OK with that. Thank you for your service. I'm glad you weren't one of the (as you see them) useless ones that got shot and didn't make it home to the families they cared so much about. I hope your family thought of you while you were away since you didn't take the time to think of them. Wyatt and Alan are both great guys, I'm glad you liked them. And I'm glad you came here to tell me what kind of person you are and who you think I am. I hope you have a better day big man. And I hope your family is well and happy.
@@mikeyheltonjr The show made you seem lazy and focused on your one kid. Even your youtube only shows one kid but you have 5 kids total i think. I do not get you growing up so hard either. Why did your parents not make your life better. We all know that there is assistance out there such as food stamps. We also know that your parents got tax money back for all the kids. My parents are financial idiots also. My step dad bought a trailer in the 90s for $50k at 16% interest and refused to refinance. He ended up pay $250k and just finished paying it this year. That is just one example of them being horrible with money. The parents makes the kids life harder. You want money. Go overseas and work. You will make $100k tax free pretty easy.
@NightThings99 my kids choose not to be a part of any of my social media because people like to bash others (not pointing fingers). I wish they would be a part of it. But ya know, I understand. People can be cruel and unthoughtful. They say things to hurt others when they don't know the whole picture. And my kids don't want to be a part of that. I grew up rough as hell because my parents didn't care enough to work. We lived in a shack made out of scrap rough sawn lumber from the junk pile at the saw mill. Until that place was built, we lived in an rv, 5 of us, and not a nice rv, a cheap one. We got food stamps. And the ones that weren't sold filled up a cooler that sat on our front porch. The good thing is that it happened once a month. So the rest of the month we had to do what we had to do. Dfacs tried to pick us up more than once at the bus stop. We smelled like we hadn't had a bath because we didn't have the common necessities that most people had and take for granted. We were so poor that my parents said we couldn't have friends over because they would tell on us and we would be taken away. We were kids, and all we knew was that was a bad thing. My parents did more than that, too. But I won't cut them down anymore. They will die knowing how they treated us. As for the show and all the time in my shelter, I will tell you this. I had insomnia. All the times you saw me in my shelter were late at night when I couldn't sleep. I killed 19 grouse. They show maybe 3 if I remember correctly. And on the subject of overseas work, that's not what I'm gonna do. There's plenty of money to be made, I'm sure of that. But I'm not leaving my family and I'm not moving them overseas. That's not gonna happen for us. Kudos to those who do it. But not us. I've had a great time chatting with you on here and reliving a lot of the negativity that surrounded me from what people think they know, but I think I'm gonna call it a day. Have a good one, my friend.
My partner and I have watched all the Alone seasons and so consider ourselves couch experts (which is to say not experts at all). When we saw you early in this season, you were like a fish out of water, being from GA and dropped in Canada. We gave you basically no chance to win, probably even picked you to tap out first. We were so wrong about you. By the end of the season we were really rooting for you. You showed real determination and adaptability. We still wonder if some of your gear choices hurt you, like did you have the best clothing for the cold weather. You're great. Win over the haters and keep being awesome. Cheers.
Looking back some of my gear choices were not the best. They were made in haste and some I had to settle on. I don't have any arctic gear because I live in the south. The boots I was wearing should have been bigger to allow for more insulation, but when I was told I was going to be on the show I had very little time to find my gear and I already have big feet. My u.s. size 13 boots were not loose enough. I should have taken at least a size 15 to give me more room for more socks but I couldn't find any arctic boots in that size that would be delivered before I had to leave. That and a few other things would have made all the difference I believe. Thank you for cheering me on. I truly appreciate it.
Why, when you were starving weren't you out fishing or hunting or gathering instead of fartin' around with your shelter? In fact you should have been stockpiling your food stores the minute you landed. Food is the most important, not a shelter that takes weeks and weeks to build.
@MrBangbangjim hahahaha please think about this. I'm sorry but you can not believe it just because it's on TV I fished A LOT I hunted ALOT and I stored A LOT of berries. As a matter of fact when I tapped out I had meat hanging over my head and dried berries. I killed 19 grouse and 21 mice because that's all that was around me. I know I look like an idiot on TV but in fact I did all these things that people didn't see.
You were the most entertaining contestant on Season 10, I just finished watching it. Congratulations on a hell of a run during the show and exceeding all viewers expectations I'm sure. Great stuff.
Mikey, we were rooting for you. My wife cried when you tapped. We understand why you did and respect your decision. We know it wasn’t easy. You have inspired me in many ways and opened my eyes to some specials needs issues. When you talked about noise - loud cars and more- I never realized how that could trouble a special needs child. I hope you can build from this. Thank you for putting up the good fight.
Just finished watching season 10 and you were my favorite. Being from GA I rooted for you from the beginning. Hope you now have more time to spend with your family brother. God Bless!
Great video!! Thank you Mikey. You were awesome on the show. Inspiring!!! 🙌🥇 I’m so happy to be able to participate in the go fund me campaign for you and your son, it is so well deserved.
I was cryingggg & praying for you to win, Mikey!!!! I hope you & your wife and son are doing well ❤ You were so brave and courageous, we are so proud of you!!! ❤
@SameShirtDifferentDay thank you so much! We are all doing well and Nikolai has come so far with all of his challenges thanks to the kindness of people like you. Thank you.
I just finished your season today on Netflix. I know it filmed so long ago, but I was rooting so hard for you! You are a hell of a man and father! I’m so glad you cleared up the fishing because I kept saying fish Mikey fish!! 😂
@LexieJay00 Thank you so mush for the support and the kind words. And trust me I tried so hard to fish out there. The only thing I could get to bite were the mosquitos lol.
You’re an inspiration man. Your time on alone spoke to the inner core of so many fathers who would all they could for their family. It was a bonus to see your engineer minded creations and skills, you are an epic badass. Also, please tell me that gofundme online for you is legit. When do you have to go back to work? Will you be able to get any new side gigs from your exposure off of all this?
Thank you so much! Yes the gofundme that Luke Olsen set up for us is real. I have already went back to work as a carpenter. Maybe one day soon I can start some bushcraft classes or something along that line. I appreciate your kind words my friend. Thank you again.
Dude, for a man from Ga to last that long you did amazing. They was going to pull you out so I think you did really well. So glad your getting help with your gofundme.
Thank you so much. It was a battle hard fought that's for sure. I truly appreciate your support and the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. I'm probably not gonna do another q&a like these but if you have another question I will be happy to answer it here.
Props to you Mikey. That's the thing, you're at the mercy of the editors. You can do a lot of things out there, film a bunch of varied stuff - but there's no guarantee it'll make it off the cutting room floor. I think especially coming from Georgia, you did great. Hoarding food definitely happens to some people, look at Season 3 for a great example of that. You have nothing to be ashamed of.
Dude, I just watched your last episode and I'm truly crying for you and your family. My almost 8 year old is autistic and nonverbal so your piece about having a meaningless conversation had me bawling. It's so hard and to have someone go on national TV and tell everyone what it's like to be a dad to a NV kid means so much. I've never really rooted for anyone on this show before but I was pulling for you so hard bc I know what it's like not being able to afford their therapies. So happy Luke is doing the GoFundMe for you, I don't have much but I gave what I could bc I pray Nikolai finds his words, just as much as I pray Maddie finds hers. Thank you so much for all your effort and for being a voice for all of us struggling to be the dad our kids deserve. ❤
@05301mark Thank you for all your support and the kind words, my friend. I hope to God Maddie finds her words. And I hope that when she does, everything becomes easier for all of you. Thank you again brother.
Just finished your season on Netflix and was sooooo hoping for ya. You did amazing. I never thought a Georgia boy would go as far as you you did on that type of terrain and you killed it. You have so much to be proud of!!!! great job.
Hey, Mikey, just finished season 10. I think you had the best shot in alone history. Camera shot that is. When you shot that grouse out of the tree and the camera was set up perfect so that you could see you and the grouse. It was just a great shot and you hit the bird. I wish every shot in alone was that good.
Just finished watching Season 10 on Netflix. You were my pick to win! You’re all heart. The final three were amazing. Everything happens for a reason. Hope you’re all well. Had to find out how you’re doing and glad to hear you’re well.
Where to start? First, my wife and I just finished watching season ten of Alone. We were so rooting for you to win it all. I believe you had the best story as it were to be deserving of the 500K. When you finally tapped out we were so disappointed. Wyatt was our next "fav" to win it all. I have no doubt as you say that he is a good guy. But, Alan winning it as last person standing didn't surprise us. He is with out a doubt a tough competitor. The final edited show never showed you fishing at all. So, interesting to hear you clarify that you had been trying. I assumed your particular location was probably just not very conducive to fishing. Would love to see you back for another try at it. Perhaps a season of past favorite participants would be an idea for an upcoming season. Very well done and all the best to you and your family.
@@hberrysc3517 No, but we did take some pictures. I recently posted me hugging Nikolai as I was leaving for the show and me hugging him the first time I saw him after the show.
Well done Mikey, was an epic journey, and your love for your family was really touching. Win and lose some, but you did awesome mate. All the best going into tomorrow mate
Thanks for speaking some more about your experience and how the other contestants helped and taught each other before the drops. One of the few reality shows that feels real and is interesting!
Alan was my 7th grade teacher 25 years ago, I was rooting for him at the start, but you won me over. I’m a father of 2 and there nothing more inspiring than a dad fighting for his kid. Also it is crazy you made it that far without catching a single fish. You are one tough dude
Thank you for all the added details about fishing. I'm glad to know you actually made a fishing rod. It struck me as odd that so many contestants do not do that. I'm also glad to know you put out set lines or trot lines with natural bait because it bugged me so much that they never showed anyone doing that. Now I can assume others have tried it and it just didn't make the final edit.
Just starting this. Didn’t want to look up anything until I finished watching the season finale. I’m sure you’ll get more questions (and subscribers) as more of us catch up and find you. My wife and I were tearing up watching you struggle with your will to persist and the limitations of your body and the cold. You are a strong and capable person, no doubt. I’m happy your family and friends have you home safe.
Just finished watching Season 10 (it's now August 2024) and you were our favorite! The editors did leave too much out especially about your other kids and the fishing but that's a tough job they have too. Best wishes to you and your family and happy to see that GoFundMe set up by Luke.
@mdfellows7031 yes sir the edits weren't always on my side for everything. But with that being said, they told a great story. I talked about all of my children every day, but they focused on my youngest. I also fished every day, but noome got to see any of my lures or my handling or even my Gill net lol, and all of that was a lot of work. It's amazing how little people see of our time on the show. Please check out my video titled the Time Paradox of Alone. Here is the link ruclips.net/video/Xmgz44lJMvQ/видео.htmlsi=-aqcqoJPO4qY3m2a
@@mikeyheltonjr my husband and I loved all the contestants on season 10. We felt that everyone was highly skilled and very worthy of being there. All the people seemed like genuinely good people too. I think it’s hard to only have one winner, especially this year because everyone did great things and did the best with what they had.
Great job Mikey! We were rooting for you, you did a phenomenal job. Watching you was so emotional and tear jerking! What was your favorite food to eat once you could eat whatever you wanted? Did you have any scary encounters with animals, other than the marten?
Hahaha yes I am! I have been called sasquatch for a long time. I have him tattooed on me and my site on Alone was called sasquatchewan instead of Saskatchewan lol. My shelter was called the sasquatch hut lol. I ask people if they believe in sasquatch and when they say no I say he believes in you lol.
@carvingcaveman hahaha that's fantastic. My kids call me sasquatch. And we do 'Sasquatch hunts',which is really just an excuse to get out in the woods. I grew up near bluff creek, were the famous footage was shot of Patty. You're an awesome dude. Keep it up. We're still rooting for you
So much respect for you and your performance on the show. Was really impressed with all your abilities to create so many things and fight as hard as you did. Wishing the best for you and your family, was touched to see the amazing love you have for your son.
Hey bro, still rooting for you to find what your looking for. I’ve worked long hours since I turned 18 and I get wanting to spend more time with the people you care for. I don’t doubt someone as driven as you will make it.
Really enjoyed you on the show and empathized with your experience. Hope to see more videos on RUclips from you like Zachary Fowler and Clay have been doing. What footage did you record that you wish’d made the cut… but didn’t get to TV? Do you feel focusing on your family helped or hurt the mental aspect of surviving? Aside from the length of time and weather conditions, what do you feel viewers miss by not being there?
Thank you for doing this Mikey. The Alone editors really did you wrong and that sucks. I'm really glad you set the record straight on all of this stuff. You did great! I hope you got (almost!) everything you wanted out of the experience. ❤
Just finished your season. Was rooting for you! As a husband and father, I can’t imagine how hard it is to be away from your family for so long, on top of all of the other challenges. Saying a prayer for you and your family! Romans 5:1-11 “1Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2Through him we have also obtained access by faithb into this grace in which we stand, and wec rejoiced in hope of the glory of God. 3Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. 6For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For one will scarcely die for a righteous person-though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die- 8but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.”
Thanks for posting this, Mikey!! You were definitely my favorite through the whole season. My question is: do you ever get to see the footage that you shot that was not shown on the show. My second question is do you regret going on the show. Another question: do you have any lasting health effects from being on the show, like Wonia? Thanks for sharing more of your story, I’m such a huge fan of alone, alone frozen, alone Australia. All of alone!! And you will always be one of my favs
Well I really can't say anything too bad about that. They had so many hours of footage and they focused on the big picture of my story. They wanted the word to see why I was doing it, l said before I went into the forest that I could do that any time I wanted to for free, the reason I was there was much more than the challenge of survival.
Thank you for asking! I will talk about that in the next Q&A. I'm hoping to do another one soon. If you know anyone that wants to ask a question please tell them to comment here. The quicker I get more questions, the quicker I can answer some of them.
Very impressive performance considering the hand you were dealt. Without fish it's amazing to last that long. Would you change anything about the shelter you made?
Don't listen to these haters in the comments, brother. Keep uploading and work on the vid quality and there's no reason you can't get a few thousands of views and some cash from youtube for your boy.
New subscrer. You did great coming from a warm climate! Isn't the Poke berries potentially dangerous to eat? Especially for children? I kill them no my property so my grandkids doneat them. Question for next video. What big game sign did you see the most of ? Was the terrain difficult to see game in ? To hunt ?
Yes poke berries are poisonous! I'm so sorry if I made it seem like they are edible. I was just simply stating the differences between the berries there and here I know I also said muscadines at the same time but I didn't categorize them and I apologize. Thank you for bringing that to attention, and I will definitely answer the hunting question on my next video. I appreciate it my friend.
@@mikeyheltonjr no worries. I know as an adult you can eat a few. Supposedly Sassafras is bad for you too. I'm in upstate NY near Melanie. I only know of 3 places to get Sassafras and I love it. It's more of a Southern tree I believe. Whenever someone says it's bad I say. If that was true, people from the South would be dropping like flies. I just wanted to learn more about poke weed since it's all over my property. Like May Apples. I eat tons of them without a problem.
Oh yeah I love may apples, and I love sassafras root tea as well! I also like wild passion fruit when its ripe lol. I have a few beauty berry trees and some elder too. We have persimons and mountain grapes all over our property. All the flavors of fall in ga.
@@mikeyheltonjr yea , the wild grapes are good after a frost . I eat them in my tree stand while hunting. I worked in Georgia and Alabama planting trees for logging companies. I really got a good taste of the rural South. I loved it there in the winter. However, I hate the heat. I'm 59 and I have never seen 100'F here. It's been 70- 80s all summer. Only one 90' day so far. The coldest here I been in is -43F in the Adirondacks snow mobiling. If I was in your neck of the woods this Summer for alone I would tap in a week. Lol
@@coondogsoutdooradventures2484 hahaha oh man it has been in the high 90s for two weeks straight here lol. And no rain in that time either. It's hot and dry but it's so humid you can barely breath lol Georgia don't make sense lol.
Wyatt is an old drunk that has found his peace and happiness. You cannot drink for 40 plus years of your life like an alcoholic and not expect your body to downgrade internally. Wyatt honestly probably has Alcoholic Neuropathy and other alcohol related things going on in his body. The only reason he made it that far is because he is from there. Same with Allan. It is an advantage they had. If I threw them in Australia outback they would suffer and not make it. While a person from Australia would no doubt win.
Clearly the editors created a scenario for you through editing. There was so little representation of any indoor heat you may have had, that most people on Reddit believe you had no heat inside at all.
I'm not sure about the one on reddit because I don't spend any time on that platform. But the link to the actual gofund me is gofund.me/16c171e8 Thank you so very much for everything. @@MrBangbangjim well seeing as I was in the top three, I'm gonna guess that my survival skills were good enough to impress someone. Thanks for watching the video.
@@mikeyheltonjr Hi Mike. I wrote that when you got yourself lost in the first video of your adventure. I've seen all the ALONE's and you are the first one to ever get lost. I thought you were done for so imagine my surprise that you got even a little further, let alone as far as you did. Weren't you even embarrassed?
@MrBangbangjim I'm not the first one to get turned around. I'm just the first one who was willing to record it. And no, I'm not embarrassed. I didn't give up, I didn't quit, I kept going till I found my way out and then went another 45 days. Not everything that happened was shown. And if you pay enough attention to the show, the scenes you saw were the same one over and over. They didn't show any of the time I spent making plans for staying out there and building a shelter if I couldn't find my way before dark. They didn't show any part of me using the moss to get drinking water. They just focused on me saying I was thirsty and tired from stomping through a bog in full gear with cameras. All in all the take-away should be that even through all that I didn't quit on day 10. It took a lot more that being lost for a little while to stop me.
@@mikeyheltonjr You're right. It's not fair that the producers choose to only reveal the most dramatic and perilous parts. Sorry. I spoke too soon and judged wrongly.
@MrBangbangjim it's OK, thank you for that. And remember it's not just me, but all the contestants. They only show what makes a good story and great TV. Please watch my short titled the time paradox of ALONE. That will help everyone understand why you see what you see on the show.
Well, my friend, there's a lot that wasn't shown on t.v. and I'm glad that you brought that up. The honest truth of it all is that I talk about my kids and my wife all the time. If someone can actually think that I spent 55 days alone in the wilderness and only talked to myself about one child then they can't be all that intelligent. It seems to me that a lot of the people in the world believe everything they see and hear on the television and on the internet. That breaks my heart. I forged the knife for my oldest son, I made jewelry and dream catcher's for the girls, I spent so much time reflecting on my life and how I could be a better person to these people that I love. I spoke so much about fishing with my daughter( teaching her to fish) and showing my oldest son how to survive. I spoke about teaching all of them to build a fire and how artistic they all are. Just because it didn't make it to the screen doesn't mean it wasn't said. And do not feel bad for them in any way they would reject that. They knew why I was there and they all supported me because we are a family that cares about each other and we are all dedicated to Nikolai. Any of us would have done just the same to try to make life better for him. My children mean more to me than anyone else. And the way people decided to bash me and my family after the show came out made them glad not to be on it. The worst part of it all is the disrespect towards my special needs son and they way people made fun of him. People who have never even met him. They should all be ashamed of themselves, and so should you. Don't jump to any kind of conclusion without at least asking for some real information and not just going by what the mind numbing light from the television says. Be a better person and stop "thinking" you know something from a clipped together 25 minutes of screen time. Thanks for watching the video. Have a great day.
The toys you made were incredible! You were such an incredible inspiration as a human being!❤❤❤
@@robinredondo9427 thank you so much for those kind words. I truly appreciate them. And I am glad you liked the toys. Nikolai loved them too.
We were rooting for you, Mikey! You’re incredible and such an inspiration, thank you and wishing you the best in your next endeavor! 🙌🏻☀️🐭
Thank you so much!
Thank you my friend.
Just finished the season. What a beast level effort. The mouse slayer absolutely roughing it out.
Hahaha I appreciate it my friend.
Thank you for your kind words and understanding. It really means alot.
I cried too
That you made it to top 3 with 2 native Canadians was pretty epic. I liked Alan, but you and Wyatt were my favorites

Yeah man. It's no problem at all. If you have a question, feel free to ask and if I can answer it I will.
You did amazing Mikey! We were rooting for you the whole time!!
Great job, Mikey! Your crafts were awesome!

Was that the guy pulled on a medical for starvation but he had 14 fish filets smoked and ready?
We love you and your family ❤🙏 We are rooting for you!!
Thank you so much. I appreciate all of the support and kind words.
Big Mike I love watching you on the show, you are the real handy man. You are the man.
@ViliamiLatu thank you my friend! I really appreciate that.

@kaelwe thank you so much my friend. I truly appreciate those kind words.
@BIPEDALREPTILE hey thanks buddy there is a long story behind that setup and shot, lol. I'm glad you liked it, though.

@mikeyheltonjr We went to school together, although I'm a bit younger.
@brandonreynolds1812 awesome lol. I knew I recognized the name lol. Please forgive me my friend, school was a long life ago lol.
Did anyone record you coming home? I’d love to see that.
@@hberrysc3517 No, but we did take some pictures. I recently posted me hugging Nikolai as I was leaving for the show and me hugging him the first time I saw him after the show.

Thanks for speaking some more about your experience and how the other contestants helped and taught each other before the drops. One of the few reality shows that feels real and is interesting!
@cwand2351 oh its real my friend, and so is the comradery.
Alan was my 7th grade teacher 25 years ago, I was rooting for him at the start, but you won me over. I’m a father of 2 and there nothing more inspiring than a dad fighting for his kid.
Also it is crazy you made it that far without catching a single fish. You are one tough dude
Thank you my friend.
Hey Mikey! My wife and I were really cheering for you man! You did amazing brother! Wish you and your family all the best! -Brandon and Kris
@iselinbradley4033 thank you so much my friend! I truly appreciate it.

Also, I see the sasquatch shirt. Are you a believer?
Hahaha yes I am! I have been called sasquatch for a long time. I have him tattooed on me and my site on Alone was called sasquatchewan instead of Saskatchewan lol. My shelter was called the sasquatch hut lol. I ask people if they believe in sasquatch and when they say no I say he believes in you lol.
@carvingcaveman hahaha that's fantastic. My kids call me sasquatch. And we do 'Sasquatch hunts',which is really just an excuse to get out in the woods.

What footage did you record that you wish’d made the cut… but didn’t get to TV?
Do you feel focusing on your family helped or hurt the mental aspect of surviving?
Aside from the length of time and weather conditions, what do you feel viewers miss by not being there?
I love these questions and I will definitely be answering them soon! Thank you my friend, I appreciate the kind words.
Thank you for doing this Mikey. The Alone editors really did you wrong and that sucks. I'm really glad you set the record straight on all of this stuff. You did great! I hope you got (almost!) everything you wanted out of the experience. ❤
It seems like every season some contestants just have a really crappy fishing site and there is nothing they can do about it. Doesn’t seem fair.
Just finished your season. Was rooting for you! As a husband and father, I can’t imagine how hard it is to be away from your family for so long, on top of all of the other challenges.
Saying a prayer for you and your family!
Romans 5:1-11
“1Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
@graham765 thank you so much. I truly appreciate these kind words and prayers, brother.
Great questions! I think I will be doing another Q&A really soon.
The editing didn’t do you justice.
Well I really can't say anything too bad about that. They had so many hours of footage and they focused on the big picture of my story. They wanted the word to see why I was doing it, l said before I went into the forest that I could do that any time I wanted to for free, the reason I was there was much more than the challenge of survival.
Delighted to find your channel! I have a question: How long once you tapped out did it take to get back to your home?
Thank you for asking! I will talk about that in the next Q&A. I'm hoping to do another one soon. If you know anyone that wants to ask a question please tell them to comment here. The quicker I get more questions, the quicker I can answer some of them.
Very impressive performance considering the hand you were dealt. Without fish it's amazing to last that long. Would you change anything about the shelter you made?

Question for next video. What big game sign did you see the most of ? Was the terrain difficult to see game in ? To hunt ?
Yes poke berries are poisonous! I'm so sorry if I made it seem like they are edible. I was just simply stating the differences between the berries there and here I know I also said muscadines at the same time but I didn't categorize them and I apologize. @@alysoncheney4683 Thank you so much for those kind words. Yes, Luke Olsen set up a gofundme for Nikolai. He is an amazing person.

I wanted to know how the show protects you all from bears, wolves etc!
I feel bad for your other kids. I don't think you mentioned them more than once or twice.
