I collected questions from social media platforms about my experience on Alone and address them in this video. #alanalone #aloneseason10 #tentaoutdoors
Mate, I need "Alan and Wyatt Go Camping" - a show where Alan and Wyatt go camping and fishing and whatever you want... and talk about whatever you like. I would watch that. It was great watching you in S10 - you + survival topics = good tv.
Just the thought of you and Wyatt going fishing together makes me happy! Loved watching both of you all season; I’ve had a soft spot for Canadians, our wonderful neighbors to the North, since I was a kid and spent summers on my grandparents’ farm in North Dakota close to the border. Just so fun to hear that story of Wyatt congratulating you. Thanks for the recaps and the q and a, always fascinating!
Here from Netflix. I am so glad you won this season. Congratulations and you deserve it. I was crying like a baby when you and ur wife was reunited. God bless you and your family
I'd love Alone to release extra footage after the series ends (I want to see the funny or silly things you did to camera). Also, I feel like they deliberately don't show a lot of food procurement from the winner in order to throw the viewers off, so if they did an extra episode every series of just the winner doing things, it would be great
Congrats on your win, Alan. We loved this season. How was the experience of being a television viewer of your own season? Anything from any other participant's experiences that stood out to you, surprised you, or resonated with your own experience out there?
Watching yourself on TV is definitely odd, but I enjoyed watching each episode with family and friends. I would say seeing how we all struggled with the cold near the end due to our thinner, diminished states.
I was military for 11 years. I was able to go to several "cool guy" schools, and that also afforded me work in some "cool guy" units. One of the things that always baffled me; I always had this fantasy growing up that the best and toughest guys in the military were going to be these gruff and rough dudes and might scare you to death to even look at. What I found was that the vast majority of the time, they were just like Alan. Mild mannered, soft spoken, very unassuming. When I first started watching season 10, my first though of Alan was that he reminded me of so many of the people I had worked with in the past. Grats to you Alan, so happy for you man. Will be following your channel since I very much enjoy the outdoors as well.
I was so happy to see you win. You were humourous, humble, genuine, and a total badass. I your kids, wife, and school pupils are very lucky to have you in their life as an inspiration and freind.
Congratulations to you and your family, Alan! Wonderful to see a Canadian and a teacher win. Loved watching you and Wyatt make the most of this experience. All the best!
We loved you Alan, you and Wyatt have lovely accents. What a great series it was. The last 3 of you were amazing. Now going to watch right from the beginning again. We are watching the UK version,oh dear dear dear! I don't think they will last long.😮 🏴
@@LisaPlank-rg3id how awesome would that be lol...Alan relaxing on his fishing rock crunching a bag of Doritos lol 😂!!! The selling line could be something like "after weeks of hunger, half million dollar winner Alan Tenta just wants his Doritos!!
Just watched this season.. I'm not sure if you are still answering questions but... can you see the boats/helicopters going to see other contestants? Like did you have an idea someone was leaving or where the other contestants were?
Yes! It drove me nuts near the end wondering what was happening! I could hear the helicopter and often saw boats in the distance. Never had a clue what was going on.
Thanks for this Q & A! We rooted for both you and Wyatt, you were both our favorites 😊 your winning scene was so awesome and you and your wife’s relationship very heartwarming.
My oldest daughter introduced me to "Alone". I'm in my 80's and was raised on a farm in Alberta with a family of 13. Out of the questions, what struck me the most was the heating of the rocks which my dad would do when we used horses and a sled to get to church or visit family at Christmas time.
Just finished watching season 10 last night (Netflix, probably 1 year after it aired on the history channel) - I love that you won! I had 2 favorites towards the end, surely glad you ended up being the last one. Great attitude!!! fantastic skills!
Alan - this is a =great= video, awesome set of Q's/A's, especially discussion of the edit, fishing & the end with Wyatt & the med checks. Congrats on winning! The front half of the season seemed a bit slow but as things zeroed in on the last few alone, I got more & more into the spiritual journey & was very happy with the final few, then the final two, then the final .. you!!! I teared up, man. Whoot!!! Kudos for sure
Can you make a video of how you made your lures and what it looked like? Possibly remaking it now? If you can could you reach out to Wyatt and ask him about his lures and how they looked also?
Really well done! Awesome to hear what went on behind the scenes and your thought processes. I hope you continue teaching as we need people like you influencing our kids.
Juan Pablo is from Manitoba, so we’ve actually had Canadian winners 3/10 times, which is actually fantastic given that there’s usually only 1 or 2 Canadians a season at most.
@@stevebraun4682 there’s been lots of Canadians compete and do well, including someone who I feel is often overlooked, Megan Hanacek from Season 3. But there’s been 3 (technically 4) Canadian winners now that Al has won.
Just finished season 10 tonight, so happy you won dude, huge congrats. I'm from Calgary so I know what that cold feels like. Couldn't be happier for you man!
Thanks for the answers! Congratulations again, we were cheering you on the whole time, and it was awesome that it came down to our two favourite contestants - and both Canadians! Kind of a missed question: was there anything about the production or process that surprised you, especially knowing what you did going into it?
Congratulations! 🇨🇦 Great video. You answered the questions that I was thinking throughout the show. I am glad that you didn’t damage your body and still felt good. Interesting that you had such good skin and bright eyes on the fish diet. Many people try an elimination diet to improve issues and lots continue. Great job!
The skin thing is due to the removal of dairy products😯 P.s. I was going for you due to your bird story...I had a similar experience with my father in 2014... I had a waking dream of a massive flock of birds fleeing from a maelstrom that was my father's death. I put up my hand and they flew into me. Not being able to accommodate their weight, a wild starling watching me work, offered to take them from me. I agreed and my grief finally lifted. Respect from Australia. P.s.s. that starling got a good deal, seeing as though it wasn't native.
Hey thanks for doing this. Came over from the reddit, definitely subscribed now. Excited to see your lure vid. And congrats on the win! Wyatt sounds like a class act hearing about him hugging you made me smile
Not gonna lie, when I saw you gagging on the roe on day 1 I thought for sure "this dude literally doesn't have the stomach to last very long." Was pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the season. Well earned win!
Another great video. Would like to know some of the things you were not allowed to do. Were you allowed to put out bait for game, fish guts for marten or bear etc? Were you allowed to attach bait to gill nets to attract fish? Were you allowed to hunt or fish at night with a hand line or bank line? Did you have a device to tell you what time it was or the temperature? How did you keep rain from coming in the open top of your teepee? Thanks. Congratulations again.
We had to follow the hunting/fishing regulations and we were not allowed to bait bears for the show. We knew what time it was on our camera, so editors knew what day it was; no way of knowing temps. The hole in my TP was quite small compared to the ground space, and just hit a little circle in the middle of the floor; I just ensured nothing was stored there. Even during hard rain, not enough rain came in to impact a fire that was already going.
here after watching on Netflix! congrats! one of my favorite scenes is you introducing your shelter (: are you able to explain how the voice over process works? where, when, how do you do it? does that mean you get to see the edited footage as you voice over? do producers tell you what to talk about? etc.
Each contestant returns to base camp for re-feeding and health monitoring; we each have a long recorded interview that the producers have prepared from our footage. We don’t get to see any clips.
Just fascinating! Thank you for taking the time to answer all these questions for us! Those comfort sleeps you had once back home are really wild! The human body and mind is so amazing at knowing just what it needs to get through. Watching and now hearing some more details now makes this undeniable.
My husband and I love the show Alone and as we watched season 10 we were so impressed with your strength and abilities to survive and cope. We also really liked Wyatt and his skills. When we saw you win and your wife there with you sharing that joy we were both very emotional as well. Congratulations! Something to be very proud of. We too live in BC. All the best!
Congratulations Alan! Well done! I enjoyed the Q&A. So interesting. I teared up when you described snuggling down in your sleeping bag. That familiarity of a precious time in a pure life. Yes, lonely, hungry, cold, but, life the way it should be! Re-entry is hard!
Wow, Alan. Thank you for going through all of our questions (including mine!), and for taking the time to answer them. This was just great. I'm not the least bit surprised at all of the ways you must have had to reacclimate to home, including the story you told about sleeping in your bag on the carpet. That was especially interesting. I can't wait to see your lure, to get a fishing lesson from you, and to hear about anything else you want to talk about. Cheers!
Just binged your season. I was rooting for you from day 1. I am a grown man and was crying when your wife surprised you at the end. The love was real. Congratulations sir you are an inspiration.
So proud of you! It was very interesting to watch. I love how real and honest you are. We got to see your emotions, patience, excitement, frustration, positivity, thought processes, explanations, perseverance and love for your family as you went through all the mental & physical changes and seasonal changes as you endured, thrived & survived this challenge. You have a great attitude and sense of humour. You did your homework, learning from past episodes, were well prepared with knowledge and skills and brought the right equipment. Great job, Alan! Congratulations again! You are so deserving.❤️
Congratulations!! You are an amazing person and I can't wait to hear about your fishing adventure with Wyatt. My son and I were watching together. I was so moved my Wyatt's story and felt he won by overcoming his demons. So proud of him. You are such an inspiration as well. I bet your students are so proud of you!!
Great job!!! The edit for the show made me think you were getting too thin. I thought Wyatt was going to pull it off and then boom…he left and you won. We were on the edge of our seats. We wanted Mikey to win so he could better care for his son. But we knew he was the underdog. Coming from Georgia and not knowing the cold climate. You were so steady and methodical. Just step by step staying positive and working it all out. I like the way it ended. My wife is a school teacher and so we felt very close to you and your adventure. We live in Alaska so we also know the cold and outdoors and a part of what you were facing. I lost my dad in 2003 and we were close. I could feel your pain and respect for him. Great job!!!!!!
Congratulations Alan , I thought from the beginning that you would be one of the last remaining contestants…. I’ll be honest I was rooting for Mikey being I’m from Tennessee and him being from our neighbor to the south (Georgia) you Wyatt and Kade made this show work. If you ever come to Wartrace Tennessee we will put you up at the Blue Victorian Bed and Breakfast…..
Congrats Alan! Cheered you on the second I saw you wearing the BC Hockey hat or shirt (can’t remember which) Curious what level hockey your kids are playing or what level of hockey you’re involved with in BC Hockey? I’m a referee in chief in the Okanagan. Congrats again man! You’re the man!
Great video! Thanks for taking time to answer everyone’s questions. Colter and Woniya are two of my favourite contestants so it was nice to hear you say you loved their positivity. I’ve got Woniya’s book, and can’t wait to add a Tenta hat in a few months!
Also! It’s actually amazing to see how much better you already looked at the pizza place when you said that was only about 8 or 9 days later. It’s crazy how the human body can bounce back. The first couple of days you wouldn’t have been eating much; as you said, bone broth, little bits of rice and meat… and yet your body took every mouthful and put it to good use. The difference between extraction day and the pizza place a week and a bit later is astonishing.
Hi Alan! I just want to say thank you as I picked you in our Alone survival draft! SO thank you for winning me and yourself a couple of bucks! As a Saskatchewanian this season was very interesting for me, I knew the cold weather was going to be a shock to some, but I didn't hear you talk about the wind as much as the other contestants. Was your cove/camp area pretty well shielded from the wind?
Hi Alan! I was rooting for you from the beginning! Thank you so much for doing a Q&A. There were many questions that I had, that you were able to answer. I look forward to seeing more videos from you and hopefully collaborations with fellow Canadians. I love Greg Ovens from season 3. I think you both would really enjoy each other and would make great collaboration videos.
Thanks so much for the awesome follow up and all the excellent questions…it really filled in the gaps of so many things we wonder about while watching the show. Very intrigued with your consistent approach positive thinking, and efficient use of energy while surviving with the bare minimum. The one after question I had was, did you ever reconsider your shelter location? I would have been tempted to move to your 2nd fishing spot,… AKA “calm bay”. But at that point …. Expending the energy wasn’t likely worth it.. it just looked like such a nicer spot. (?). Thanks for doing this…and Congratulations…you most certainly deserved the win!!!
Thank you! I never really considered it due to the success I was having fishing at my original location; I agree it would have been a good spot as well.
So great to hear of this amazing success for you! You deserve it! Congrats. Go Fruitvale! :) :) It's been a long time to say the least. I need to find this pic of you, me and George C airbanding with some brooms and pencils out at camp... Not sure where it is. Tongo!
Thank you for sharing! Another super successful season all due in part to your efforts before hand. Congratulations! I especially enjoyed your insights, your explanation of your thoughts throughout the game. Huge shout out to Wyatt too. Cheers for sw ontario 😊
Thank you so much for your honesty (bathrooms!?) and detail in answering all the questions (mine included) thrown your way. Well done you! Looking forward to seeing the Tenta Outdoors March…
Congrats, had you as winner, and Wyatt as dark horse halfway through the season. Just started watching the video, but I instantly thought about Wyatt and his lures when you mentioned him, would love to see his process.
Congrats Alan well deserved win! Was a big fan of your since day 1! Really happy for you and your family! Your one badass high school teacher cheers from Ontario 🇨🇦
Love ya, Alan! Great win!! Fun season to watch, you so much helped make it less of a suffer-off like some other seasons. Thanks for sharing your perspective by way of this video. Anyone that says nice guys finish last need to watch this season, eh?
An axe is more important than a knife never go into a survival situation without and axe you can actually process game with an axe, you can’t process firewood or make cabins with a knife
Excellent video Alan! This Q&A really gives us insight into the working of the show. If they only did two med checks and then a third when they came to pick you up, how often did they come with new batteries and pick up the SD Cards? When they came for the video, were you allowed to talk to them at all? Again, congratulations on a great job out there! I'm glad you won😁 I'm looking forward to your next video and once you've been back to school, you'll have to let us know how cool it is to see your students for the first time now that they know you won.
Thank you, sir! We always had a massive supply of batteries and SD cards- I don’t recall the amount of days, but a long time. No, everyone was always serious and conversation was practically non existent.
@@alantenta9825 interesting to know. I'm glad that conversation was almost nonexistent. It makes the experience more authentic, but I'm sure after those long days chitchat would have been welcomed 😁
That answer was for all contestants regarding the amount of time we actually film and the tiny fraction that actually makes the show. Some things that come to mind for me: knife and axe sharpening methods, knot knowledge, how to smoke properly and the correct woods to use, medicinal plants, plant and animal identification, using snare wire, heating rocks for warmth, and reading animal sign.
Just finished the finale . You're so awesome man i was rooting for you the second you talked about the kids at your outdoor ed class. You had a great mindset and never got heated or angry. I bet those kids already look up to you but after that you're the MAN! Congrats buddy you deserve every dollar. All the of you at the end were awesome guys (Wyatt and Mikey). Much love from upstate NY!
Thanks so much for your awesome comment! It means a lot! Glad you enjoyed watching the journey. It was such an amazing experience and I am so grateful for it! Cheers!
@alantenta9825 Thank you so much for the response. Keep the children of our country educated and interested in nature! Seems to be something that our country has been lacking. Your positive mindset was awesome to watch. Hope you and your family the best of wishes and thank you for taking us on that journey 🙌🙌🙌
I didn’t like how weathered and old I looked sometimes, but generally it was great watching with friends and family; especially the final scene with my wife.
Super proud of you man, as a fellow teacher that loves the outdoors I was super pumped to see you pull it off. Your mental strength was absolutely amazing. Salute*
@@alantenta9825 do you own this RUclips channel? If so I'd like to list your channel on my main channel ruclips.net/user/MrGPlays it's the least I can do for a fellow teacher.I have huge respect for what you pulled off and what you showed your students will power and knowledge can do.
One last question from me if you don't mind answering it. You don't have to give the details but do they pay some type of weekly pay to help us with our bills while we are away?

You have a great attitude and sense of humour. You did your homework, learning from past episodes, were well prepared with knowledge and skills and brought the right equipment. Great job, Alan! Congratulations again! You are so deserving.❤️
Karen! Thank you!
Thank you for this, Alan! Looking forward to connecting with you in regards to that classroom interview! Congratulations, again.
Sounds good.
Thanks for this! Yes, Wyatt’s experience out there was very powerful and moving.
So cool to hear about the behind the scenes of a contestant. Love it
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you!
Thank you for this! I’m from Reddit and I appreciate you answering my questions. So happy for you and your family!
You are so welcome!
Hello from Montreal, thanks for answers, Alan
No worries!
Thank you, sir! I will remember that if I’m ever down that way! Cheers!
Looking forward to the lure video.
Coming soon!
Congrats Alan! Cheered you on the second I saw you wearing the BC Hockey hat or shirt (can’t remember which)
Curious what level hockey your kids are playing or what level of hockey you’re involved with in BC Hockey?
I’m a referee in chief in the Okanagan.
Congrats again man!
You’re the man!
Hello! My son played all the way through until he graduated, and I am a referee.
Very well presented. Good job outlining the related topics we are interested in. Thanks~
No worries!
Just finished this season and I'm glad you did a follow-up video explaining things. Big congratulations from a fan all the way out in Asia!
I appreciate it!🙏
A simple question for you . . . since you didn't eat the mice, did you use them for fish bait or for some other purpose?
I tried all sorts of things for bait, including grouse guts and fish eggs held in gauze bags. Nothing touched it- active lures were what fish wanted.
Good to know. Thanks. And awesome job on the show.@@alantenta9825
You were a joy to watch! Looking forward to seeing more content on your RUclips channel.
Thank you so much!
Hey there. My husband and I were rooting for you the whole time. We are so happy you won the season. Thank you for doing this follow up for us.
13:00 you were very funny. I think that's why you were our favorite. I enjoyed the different voices.
23:00 about the mice. I was really hoping that owl stuck it out with you because he would have helped keep the mice population down as well.
No worries! Cheers!
Thanks Alan! I asked about the bow setup, thank you for answering.
Any time!
My pleasure! That pizza…….
Yes, it would be blowing on the beach and at my shelter is was almost nonexistent. I was in a depression surrounded by trees packed closely together.
Thx for sharing Alan! This video has a lot valuable and very important information about doubts and your experience in this Adventure! thx!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I think you're the first Canadian to win!! Congrats 🇨🇦
Canadians won season 4, 9, and 10.
Thanks for the idea!
I love your positive attitude. Motivating and a real great example of never quitting for your students. This world needs more people like you sir.
Thank you so much!
Well done, congratulations!
Thank you! Cheers!
Loved Alan and Wyatt !!
Blessings 🎉🎉🎉
Cheers!
Funnily enough i got a Doritos ad in this video lol Congrats Alan, you're an inspiration to us all!
That’s hilarious! Thanks so much!
Tongo!
Tom! What up! Good to hear from you!
Thank you for sharing! Another super successful season all due in part to your efforts before hand. Congratulations! I especially enjoyed your insights, your explanation of your thoughts throughout the game. Huge shout out to Wyatt too. Cheers for sw ontario 😊
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for your honesty (bathrooms!?) and detail in answering all the questions (mine included) thrown your way. Well done you!
Looking forward to seeing the Tenta Outdoors March…
Thanks so much!
Great job and it was fun watching you win, thanks for all the great info as well.
Thanks 👍
Congrats, had you as winner, and Wyatt as dark horse halfway through the season. Just started watching the video, but I instantly thought about Wyatt and his lures when you mentioned him, would love to see his process.
Planning a video for this soon!
When all was said and done, Was the fly swater worth bringing and taking up one of your ten items?
That was just a joke in my ten items video; I didn’t really bring a fly swatter.
@@alantenta9825LOL well you got me :) Thanks for the reply.
Congrats Alan well deserved win! Was a big fan of your since day 1! Really happy for you and your family! Your one badass high school teacher cheers from Ontario 🇨🇦
Thanks so much!!
Love ya, Alan! Great win!! Fun season to watch, you so much helped make it less of a suffer-off like some other seasons. Thanks for sharing your perspective by way of this video.
Anyone that says nice guys finish last need to watch this season, eh?
Wow! Thanks for the great comment; I appreciate it!
An axe is more important than a knife never go into a survival situation without and axe you can actually process game with an axe, you can’t process firewood or make cabins with a knife
I also brought a large saw, but I did not regret bringing an axe. I used it often.
Thank you, Alan for sharing your experences. I thorughly enjoyed the total show and this Q and A video.. Tom Ireland
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the comment!
I'm glad you won😁
I'm looking forward to your next video and once you've been back to school, you'll have to let us know how cool it is to see your students for the first time now that they know you won.
Late but congratulations on your win! You were my favorite to win and I was so happy for you - my husband and I both cried! You were a badass.
Love your handle- huge LOTR fan. Thank you so much!
Hey Alan! Me again! 😅 you mentioned that you used bushcraft skills on the show that wasn't filmed. What kind of bushcraft did you use? Thanks
Congrats and thanks for the Q & A! My wife & I had a wonderful time watching you and all the contestants this season!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Was it hard for you to rewatch the show and live the experience again?
I didn’t like how weathered and old I looked sometimes, but generally it was great watching with friends and family; especially the final scene with my wife.
Very cool to hear more information, thanks so much! 😊
You bet!
Super proud of you man, as a fellow teacher that loves the outdoors I was super pumped to see you pull it off. Your mental strength was absolutely amazing. Salute*
Thank you!
@@alantenta9825 do you own this RUclips channel? If so I'd like to list your channel on my main channel ruclips.net/user/MrGPlays it's the least I can do for a fellow teacher.I have huge respect for what you pulled off and what you showed your students will power and knowledge can do.
Good work Al! Thanks for your skills and power attitude! Proud to be your Unk!
Thanks Unk!
One last question from me if you don't mind answering it. You don't have to give the details but do they pay some type of weekly pay to help us with our bills while we are away?
Yea, you get a stipend to help cover for missed work.
Awesome! Thank you for doing this and looking forward to seeing the lure special! 🎣
Thank you! I will get on that video in the coming weeks!
Yes, the recent casting call is for S12. Good luck!
So I came across a debate of whether or not participants get a cavity check before being dropped off? Lol
This is a first for this question. Nope; no cavity search, but they do search all your gear very thoroughly.
@@alantenta9825 lol yes I died when someone told me about that so just had to check.
Bro looks so healthy, I think losing that fat during the show was a blessing in disguise
Power cleanse!
Rolling power outages in Alberta -34C, people could freeze to death, how do we stay warm? Backyard tent with a wood fire stove? What is the warmest sleeping bag to get on Amazon? We need your links.
I would go with -60 synthetic!
Came from reddit!! Congrats!
