    RUNITUP I feel is pretty straightforward. The reason it may not be clicking for you is that it's heavily referencing Tyler's 5th album "Flower Boy", where he discusses his wealth, and how he uses his wealth to drown out the pain he feels. "I might just spend it all" is said in a confident manner, which contrasts to "Flower Boy"'s depressed and guilty feeling about Tyler's wealth. Every Tyler album has a theme if not a story and "Call Me if You Get Lost" is an attempt to combine all of the styles he has done over the years. PLEASE LISTEN TO FLOWERBOY AND IGOR. Although chronology isn't important, it does shape how you view Tyler's albums. If you were to listen to "Call Me if You Get Lost" after listening to all of Tyler's discography it would sound definitely different to you.

      Do you have advice on how to listen to music? This is such a dumb question I know but I love music, yet I only recently started caring about lyrics (before I’d pay attention to and be fascinated by the instruments and other sounds in songs). When you listen to Tyler, do you know what each song is about straight away? Or with any artist’s song? I’d love to be able to understand lyrics to the level you do and be able to figure out what/how songs connect to other songs, even if the lyrics are straight-forward

    • @Ysnchris
      @Ysnchris 2 года назад +1

      @@1bh2nd3md it's kinda one of those things where you have to listen a few times, really take in the song first, then you'll start appreciate the song and it's lyrics combined with whatever else you like about songs, example i hated willshire, but i grew to appreciate and listen more then started understanding certain phrases or lyrics, like the flower boy refrences etc.

    Juggernaut is a favorite of mine. I grew up listening to Pharell and The Neptunes. N.E.R.D. too! And I know the love Tyler has for Pharrell. He's mentioned his love and respect for him countless times. A huge inspiration for Tyler. That's no secret. To see he finally got a sick ass verse without changing anything. I know he wanted it a bit different on Cherry Bomb. But he's always wanted a rap verse from Pharrell in his 2006 style. Around that time we was heavy into materialistic shit. Fast cars, jewelery, girls, money, etc. And his debut album at the time was filled with that. Although he always had a different side to him too. Just see what he did in N.E.R.D.. So yeah, I love that era too even if it's ignorant and flashy. It was dope to see. Getting Pharrell to rap like his old self is rare.

    32:42 the "here today gone tomorrow" is an extension of the theme of chasing your dreams. We here today and gone tomorrow so why not chase your dreams while you have the chance. It's a feeling of having fun, being young and reckless even, that's why he says "I might just spend it all" ontop of the fact that it's an extension having success

    if you ever wanna try out a group who was super influenced by tyler, you should listen to brockhampton, with their saturation trilogy. Maybe do a reaction to their music video HEAT. it’s the first song off their album, so you wouldn’t be ruining the album too much.

    Dude you are genuinely one of my favorite music reaction channels on yt. You have absolutely no bias or judgmental mentality and that is so hard to find in society today. Much love man ❤️

    the line " i hit drizzy and told him i had a milli' for him" is a sort of double meaning, theres the obvious one, and the respelling of it, " i hit drizzy and told him i had a Millie for him" as in millie bobby brown, who drake had relations with while she was underage. subtle but clever diss

    For me RUNITUP it's the intro that's the message. "Fuck them, Imma do my own shit". Just because people tell you you can't achieve your dreams doesn't mean you can't.
