I`m from Romania. The town`s architecture is based of romanian arhitecture. There is a castle in the backround and its based on Bran Castle, where Vlad the Impaler lived and the location where the legends of Dracula started. The sculpture on the mountain is based on Decebal`s statue around the Danube river
fellow romanian, vlad didnt really stay/interact with bran's castle, it was later associated with him when vampires become a pop culture phenomenon. dracula is associated with bran castle but vlad the impaler, the real wallachian ruler, only passed by ocassionally bc the border between wallachia and transylvania/hungary was in proximity to brasov. and bc it was under hungarian occupation, they were not nice to him
i like to think he had that house since he was young so that wasn't a problem for him until now, and he doesn't want to move rooms for sentimental reasons
As an italian i can say that in europe it is very common to have a more traditional architecture and more modern forniture, futhermore i don't know about other countries but many times it is forbidden by law to modify historic buildings, so the result is a cocktail of styles
in the uk theres the same thing! grade 1/2/3 listed buildings can only be modified in certain ways or not at all. i have friends who grew up in farmhouses built in the 1700s or whatever so theyve got all this old stonework and doorways and stuff and then like, a flatscreen television. its so normal i wouldnt even have thought to consider it weird until simsie mentioned it lmao
I think the problem is the layout of her house, open floor plan make it look modern, while the shell look traditional. The pack furniture have the traditional look.
As a Dutch person this is why I love doing historic buildings, with modern add-ons and modern furniture. I don’t know many people who live in an “old” house who also have have furniture from the same time period as their house, though it is cool when they do.
Here in Canada we also cannot alter homes that are historical. But north america as a whole isn't as old as Europe when it comes to architecture, you've always had a more artistic take on architecture as well. There's a special kind of history to European countries that we don't have in North America.

I have issues with grief but in reverse. Basically I don't feel bad until 3 years later when my emotions finally surface. I think it's a little better now, but I still tend to auto-shutoff intense feelings and let them cook for until I'm ready.
I think it’s pretty normal to live in a very traditional/old house but have modern wallpaper. At least in Germany it isn’t even allowed to change the architecture of some old houses. We call that "Denkmalschutz", but I think that’s similar in other European countries too. And even the house i grew up in was build in the 60s, but some of the furniture is really old… heirlooms and stuff… and other parts are very modern and renovated.
I love this house! I like the combination of the old house/architecture with the new and old furniture/fixtures. It feels very realistic that way! You did great.
I've seen pics of the build/buy catalogue already, but watching items be placed in a build makes me so much more excited for them. I spy a few things that are close to items I currently overuse (like the tall University bookcases and the Cottage Living sofa) that I can't wait to start using, along with totally new items like the kitchen set and tarot art.
The build-buy in this pack is so beautiful! I love making really opulent looking houses, especially for my vampires, and I feel like this totally works for that without leaning too gothic. Not to mention how well this pack will work with the vampire pack, or the castle pack, or I mean even some of the furniture feels like it could work with modern luxe!
So interesting to see the process of you building this wonderful house when we already know how it looks like from your playthrough video!!! I love this one a lot!
i’ve been working on the manor of the family of some of my characters and it’s CRAZY how perfect this pack is for it!! it has EXACTLY what i’ve been missing!!! not to mention that my main character was already a grim reaper and has a crow/raven motif!! so excited for this pack
I love the look of this pack so much. I adore the whole vibe and the build buy is *chef’s kiss* 😘 I only have three minor pet peeves. My inner set collector hates not having the doors that match those GORGEOUS greenhouse windows, I hate not having a matching toilet with such a unique bathroom set, and why no matching chairs with that sofa (again… like in cottage living) 😢 Other than that… I can’t wait. Looking forward to exploring Debug as well 😊
why can't they just give us separate edge pieces 😭 the auto-edge wallpaper has been glitchy for 10 YEARS, they're never gonna fix it, just give us separate swatches!

everytime i watch a video from you while playing myself I always feel like that i am watching typing asmr. Because like you can hear your mouse and keyboard clicking in the back and i love that because it gives the whole thing such a cozy and like domestic vibe if that makes sense

It would really depend on where you’re at in the US & the type of income you would have regarding architecture and interior design/decor. You could totally have a traditional house and modern furniture and vise Versa, seems like from the comments that’s common in other countries as well.

But October kinda ended up sucking for me and my dad passed away suddenly so all I can figure is that's why I just don't care anymore? It's been annoying because I want to enjoy the content about it but I'm sitting here crying instead. It's such pretty build buy stuff too and I was so looking forward to reviews on that because that's all I do for the most part. I think I'll have to bookmark it and come watch the video again later. Sorry for the rambling.

The issue seems to be you are used to building smaller more confined homes and this new pack is not designed for that. The Romanian architecture is very grand and definitely more in tune for larger builds to amplify the furniture/style
So you did upload the Building with The Sims 4: Life & Death video after you finished playing The Sims 4 Life and Death. But the video was made before you played Life & Death... But I really love how the mansion turned out, the windows are so beautiful, it looks so traditional outside, I also love the panneling wallpaper from Life and Death. You also put grandpa's room in the attic, so he have to go upstairs and walk even more. I told that to my husband, and he said that it's actually good, so he get more healthy and energized 💪😂😂😂
I'm still watching the video, and I just had a random thought. I think the windows from this new pack would look good together with the windows from the Castle Kit, like I think they would match. Maybe my memory decieves me and they won't match as well as I think they would, but I think they will. Once the pack is out I'll try to build something with it and the Castle Kit to see if they match for myself. I think you can make some interesting stuff with this combination.
I feel like you should have put the easel where there was better lighting because her standing in front of the easel would cast a shadow on it and make it dark for her to paint ik it doesnt matter in the sims but simsie you seem like a person who would care

I understand the frustration with the greenhouse door but I think it's totally supposed to be the conservatory from the disney world haunted mansion which doesn't have an exterior door its just attached to the mansion
I always give the grandparents a bedroom on the first floor. Teenagers/kids can have an attic/basement bedroom.Making grandpa climb those stairs with those knees??? NO😅😅😂

In Hungary is the same. Some houses have a memorial and historical monument protection so you cant renovate the outside and the shell
