I completely understand that view point. I spent almost an hour going over what I did wrong. It was not til I thought of the fact I counted every part during my layout. That. Realized they were truly EXTRA parts. All said and done. Still an amazing product. Be safe.
That LEVRACK system is sweeet! Bonus that it's an American company! One suggestion: if you don't have a mini blind on that window, maybe put one up so anybody peeking in can't see what you have on those shelves? Great video, thanks! Peace!
I am fully impressed! It's just a complete ruclips.net/user/postUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 plan with the best resources and step by step instructions . These shed plans are so satisfying as if the sheds build themselves on their own. Worthy work Ryan!
That is by far one of the badass things a man or women can put in there shop!!! However: Can you really say you like the system when you don’t read the set up instructions. ( that is part of the warranty- I guess). You end up with extra parts. When I see you and your crew build a building. The thing that sticks out the most too me, is the amount of detail you and the crew put into your work. Safety first and always. I try to think of the “what if factor”. You know the one. What if anyone got hurt because I didn’t put those extra parts in the box. I only know you from what I see on your channel. You are a detailed great builder and teacher. Hell you even look like a good boss, thats hard to come by these day. All that said. I’m just razzing you. That’s one bas ass storage system I got two of them. I read and counted everything. And still, had a few extra parts. Keep up the great work.
they told me they are still dialing in their parts and pieces.... they know they aren't going out properly. My guess is they are generically packaging them regardless of module quantity and size.
My problem is too much stuff I will never use. Throwing stuff away is not easy. Then there are the books. Getting old is sad but better than the alternate. Keep the storage compact and handy or it will not be used. Make a list of what you really need and build the storage around the list. BTW - RTFM is the best advice ever. Just do it.
Nice, I really like how it doesn't have as much of a potential to have a cluttered rack appearance. Since you can move all the units on the rails and hide it. Gives you a good option to keep an area cleaner looking. Or be able to film in an area and have a clean appearance.
Don't throw unused expired/old silicone (or any glue that dries to a rubber) tubes out. Those are good if you want to make spacers, you cut the plastic off and you find yourself in the possession of a rubber tube.
I love the people griping about the cost. It's functional, hides your junk, appears to be well engineered, and is aesthetically pleasing to boot. You get what you pay for, and it takes the place of four unsightly wire racks, so you're getting some space back as well.
On that storage upstairs you showed us maybe get some of those plastic bins yellow red and think blue . They go onto a rack , work great for small to large items
REQUEST BELOW: Pricey but a great unit. I think we all have rooms like your attic. Lots of unused inventory that needs to be worked in current projects. I have a REQUEST: PLEASE keep all buildings on "Playlists" format. It is the magnet that helped draw us to you to begin with. The chance to learn from your videos... it's what keeps us coming back, and yes to research and learn from the master instructor. PLEASE RECONSIDER the layout to include all the buildings!!!! "w.w."
Just discovered you through Wilkerdo's, love her and if she is endorsing you, you've gotta be pretty darn good! Enjoying your Instagram and stories and just found out through them that you have a RUclips too, yay!
$2800 out of my league. Cool system though. Could the fact that the inside of the pegboard be light colored to assist in brightening the shelves? I'd think that black would make find things more difficult. JMHO
same with the middel shelvs, two black walls.. i would say for 2800 there could be put more thought into the design.. but hey ho, you can customize it alot :)
11:22: "Maybe I would have liked the inside to be painted black." I was thinking as you were leaving for lunch that the black side of the pegboard should probably face the shelves. Regardless, they look nice!
Nice solution. What about a handrail for the mezzanine? Would not want to step back too far when looking for something up there. The floor looks unforgiving.
That's the same system the dr's offices used for medical records in the offices before they went electronic. Those had fixed end shelves with more cabinets. Good concept for tools as well.
Feels like 1and 4 could be fixed in place at the very ends and 2 and 3 bolted together and moved as a one-er. Then extend the rails and add 3B and 4A to the mix to make the most of the space. I see the idea but don’t think it’s saving all that much space...
Holly shit balls!!! that things is expensive!!! i have a 16k sq/ft warehouse with racking like that minus that hanging/sliding shelving and that is crazy pricing. Completely freaking awesome idea, going to totally copy that for my shop.
First things first. Get rid of the garbage. Return to your supplier what you can. Sell what you don't need or use anymore. Give it away if you have to. Now you will only need about half of the shelves. Love your vids btw.
3k for that thing? Are you serious? Not worth in my opinion at all. Like you said, just get some normal storage system like they had for not even a tenth of the cost of that thing.
i have seen storage units along the same lines in DIY mags and online where you build the cabinets out of plywood with pegboard backs, roll either from a suspended system or along the floor on wheels, and are totally customizable for less $$$. this looks like a ok system, but needs lots of work. just a FYI, you have probably learned by now, that not only do the instructions show how it goes together and in what order, but also, you could do this... or this... save yourself some grief in the end.
My wife would have loved these for the pantry. I might have to change out the shelving in the pantry anyways. It would free up a lot of space, and make organization, and access, easier.
You'll find that the particle board or mdf which looks like the shelves are made of, will warp/sag with weight over time. Ply is better than the mdf and solid is better than ply. If you're worried about moisture, dehumidifier, unless you're worried about spillage from containers. Have to agree with others about the usable space, seems for that kind of money, should've been bigger with more shelving units. Not really understanding why the usage of the peg board as backers... can't use pegs to store tools, etc., interferes with the next unit. Still a good video. Cheers :)
looks like you have a few toys there, the fruits of your labor, be sure to save some money for later down the road.. you work hard and you deserve to do exactly what you want with your money, I see this as an unnecessary expense, but its just my opinion.. I enjoy the videos, thank you
I worked with a chap for some years who would always throw sets of instructions away..I would surreptitiously retrieve them and wait for the frantic scrabbling in the garbage to find them again ! I could never teach him that we were losing time by not starting knowing what we were doing !!
They’ve been using those in research libraries for years, I’m pretty disappointed in myself for not recognizing their potential applications like this.
Maybe partner with your cabinet contractors to help improve your shop storage. Just like your building knowledge, use your resources to achieve your desired perfection. The old adage runs true with you too, The customer's project looks better than the contractors own project. Hang in there Kyle, you will succeed later on in your retirement.
This solution (albeit of far better quality and $$$) is how we store weapons in our arms rooms in the military. Allows for great storage density. I wish I had half the space you do.
One more upgrade would be the possibility to draw the shelves out. It would be a complicate rail system to do both but it would be a perfect solution...
Give Greg a raise. Not only is he a camera man but he is also more valuable than you realize. Try to replace him. There’s not many people out there that can have the forethought that he does.
On the off chance you reply to older videos Ill just tell you anyway. First I dont want to tell you how to build your shelves. I'll never understand why guys think it's manly to not atleast skim over the instructions.. sometimes it's nice to know where engineers intended certain bolts or screws for strength or fitting issues. Otherwise very cool piece of hardware.
Love this channel but $2,800 for limited storage space represents too much opportunity cost for me. I could put up decent racks for ~$500 and have $2,300 for tools i don't have (yet). For a successful company like RRB it makes sense due to time saved in the long run.
Needs to be sub $600 imo especially since you can get a full setup like this (www.sabercabinets.com/b_Magnumcabinets.html) for just over $3000 and for a normal person in a home shop this is more than enough space for pretty much everything.

I like the look, but $700.00 each for four shelving units? If you were pressed for room, which you are not in your cavernous facility, paying such a premium dollar for movable shelves might be arguable. I can’t see the justification. That small criticism aside, I always enjoy your work/videos.
I see comments like this about everything on RUclips, especially new RVs. People don't understand the cost of things. Of course you can buy cheaper storage solutions. Just like you can buy a cheap Chevy over a loaded Mercedes. They both get you from point A to B.
All you do is Boss Greg around - you don't let him have a word. instead of going out for lunch why didn't you just send GREG out to fetch it - maybe next job!! BTW great info....

Often times items requiring assembly are packaged with spare parts by design, in the event you lose something, strip a screw, etc.
Just do it.
Your videos are awesome> the right amount of detail, easy going and fun to watch. Thank you for sharing - William in Miami.
Nice, I really like how it doesn't have as much of a potential to have a cluttered rack appearance. Since you can move all the units on the rails and hide it. Gives you a good option to keep an area cleaner looking. Or be able to film in an area and have a clean appearance.
exactly...
That's a very cool storage system. Lots of storage in a small space. Kind of reminds me of the file storage that you see at the doctor's office.
One of my favorite channels! Keep up the good work.would love to have a building from you guys.I've learned a lot!
Don't throw unused expired/old silicone (or any glue that dries to a rubber) tubes out. Those are good if you want to make spacers, you cut the plastic off and you find yourself in the possession of a rubber tube.
In my college, 35 years ago, they had these but motorized in the library for books.
8:38 “because if it looks strait, it is strait.” I love it! Lol it’s so true tho
I’m going to apply this concept to walk in closets and pantry space in addition to building sets of these for my shop!
I love the people griping about the cost. It's functional, hides your junk, appears to be well engineered, and is aesthetically pleasing to boot. You get what you pay for, and it takes the place of four unsightly wire racks, so you're getting some space back as well.
Some people...
WOW That white ceiling and upper white walls is BOSS. 1:15 Holy crap, Captain Pack Rat!
I'm with you.... would you believe me that I have been throwing a bunch of stuff away
On that storage upstairs you showed us maybe get some of those plastic bins yellow red and think blue . They go onto a rack , work great for small to large items
good call thanks
3000 I'll keep the clutter

Lari Tanner well thanks for the that. Hopefully I like up to April’s endorsement
RR Buildings so far so good!!
Amazing solution for storage guys. Nice workshop i love it
$2800 out of my league. Cool system though.
Could the fact that the inside of the pegboard be light colored to assist in brightening the shelves? I'd think that black would make find things more difficult.
JMHO
why does the end shelving move if you can't put anything behind there?
I thought about it...I think you can configure it anyway you want...this is just how i set it up
same with the middel shelvs, two black walls.. i would say for 2800 there could be put more thought into the design.. but hey ho, you can customize it alot :)
RR Buildings ok Kool love the idea, was trying to wrap my head around it, maybe put it by a door with limited space why they did it like that also
Wow, just need to get out the old label maker. So u don't haft to flip thru racks. Awesome stuff!!
Love how much space is saves
Haha directv cable caddie in your loft, I see those floating around from time to time. Nice storage unit
11:22: "Maybe I would have liked the inside to be painted black." I was thinking as you were leaving for lunch that the black side of the pegboard should probably face the shelves. Regardless, they look nice!
I disagree. The lighter color reflects light, making it easier to see items on the shelves.
This storage unit looks great, I’m going to have to get a few, great video
Nice solution. What about a handrail for the mezzanine? Would not want to step back too far when looking for something up there.
The floor looks unforgiving.
A plumber's taps are always dripping.
You can also secure it by installing a lock to prevent access to the inside shelves.
That's the same system the dr's offices used for medical records in the offices before they went electronic. Those had fixed end shelves with more cabinets. Good concept for tools as well.
Looks great! I need to organize my tools a bit better. Especially my clamps.
The handles are driving me CRAZY
Feels like 1and 4 could be fixed in place at the very ends and 2 and 3 bolted together and moved as a one-er.
Then extend the rails and add 3B and 4A to the mix to make the most of the space. I see the idea but don’t think it’s saving all that much space...

amazing how many people are worried about how he spends his money. so thoughtful of them to be sooooo caring.
Think black screws to put peg board on then silver ones for shelves
Hey great Video man! If you don’t like the particle board shelves look into Baltic birch it’s a 1/2” thick 5’X5’ plywood and it’s very strong
Pretty sure he knows his wood. Plus, he's already paid for the MDF shelves. I'd just use them until they wear out, which will be never.
First things first. Get rid of the garbage. Return to your supplier what you can. Sell what you don't need or use anymore. Give it away if you have to. Now you will only need about half of the shelves.
Love your vids btw.
This was the funniest episode to date.
You can buy a lot of $150 HD metal storage racks for $3000. Or make your own? 🤔
3k for that thing? Are you serious?
Not worth in my opinion at all.
Like you said, just get some normal storage system like they had for not even a tenth of the cost of that thing.
@@Rakku agreed

Will those shelves handle spills? Didn't look moisture resistant to me.
My wife would have loved these for the pantry. I might have to change out the shelving in the pantry anyways. It would free up a lot of space, and make organization, and access, easier.
Is your personal shop a pole barn? always interested in them but not sure if local building code / snow load would allow.
Yes sure is
Nice. I think I’d like it if they slid out towards you as well. Seems like if you had something bulky it may get tight going in between the shelves.
You'll find that the particle board or mdf which looks like the shelves are made of, will warp/sag with weight over time. Ply is better than the mdf and solid is better than ply. If you're worried about moisture, dehumidifier, unless you're worried about spillage from containers.

Still a good video. Cheers :)
Looks great and useful but more so if it could have a slideout type of system for ply or such
Yay!!! Greg showed up!
looks like you have a few toys there, the fruits of your labor, be sure to save some money for later down the road.. you work hard and you deserve to do exactly what you want with your money, I see this as an unnecessary expense, but its just my opinion..

Hey kyle, if you dont mind what is the width/length and height of your shop. Really nice thanks

that is a great storage unit awesome but i don't think the end ones need to move but wow

make sure you do a video of it once it's filled.
What size is your shop? How high is the ceiling?
60x88x18
RR Buildings I'm itching for my own shop to look like that. did you build your own shop?
Michael Broadwater yes
3rd door from the left is facing the wrong way I think?? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't think there is a right or wrong way
Great video thanks for sharing have a great day

greg and I are bros...I know he's not replaceable
I think Matt Heaton is Greg's secret youtube account
Hi ,How Big Is Your Shop / Building ?? Thanks ….
60x88
thats a nice shelving unit
Great system, love it.
Where can I buy a hat like the one you have? I really like them and the stickers can we buy them form you??
OUTSTANDING
Bad design with the tek screws. The backs and bumpers should go into pre-punched holes
Of course we need instructions, we need to check that the instructions were written properly once we've built it without using them :D
What type of bench is that to the right?
On the off chance you reply to older videos Ill just tell you anyway.
First I dont want to tell you how to build your shelves. But technically, and i dont even know if its in the manual had you read it anyway, the uprights are backwards how you have them.
The cross angle on the upwards is supposed to drop the angle from the wall. You have it rising from the wall.
Its honestly probably inconsequential. But having built these type of shelves in almost every autozone on the west coast i just know how these things are supposed to go
Check the battery racks or oil racks next time you go to an autozone, theyll always have the angles dropping from the wall. And if they dont then someone didnt do their job properly.
Chad Pendt interesting. Makes sense
RR Buildings indeed. Really dont think it warants tearing the whole thing down and rebuilding it. You dont plan to store a few thousand pounds on it do you?
Looks bad ass bro!
Building that big,why didnt you get the 12 footer?..
I think you mounted the pegboard backs the right way. The light color inside will reflect light better, allowing you to see things at the back easier.
Nice soundtrack. I always read the instructions. Never wing it if instructions are available.
It ought to do the job looks good
Nice setup, but for that much cash there should be a top panel to keep dust from coming in from overhead.
i suppose that's valid
You can throw three layers of random lacquer over the particle boards. That would seal them up for life. I have MDF and HDF shelving sealed with some random wood antique lacquer i found in the attic and short of banging directly on to them they have resisted abrasion, chemical spills, the random item drop.
good idea
I'll never understand why guys think it's manly to not atleast skim over the instructions.. sometimes it's nice to know where engineers intended certain bolts or screws for strength or fitting issues. Otherwise very cool piece of hardware.
Love this channel but $2,800 for limited storage space represents too much opportunity cost for me. I could put up decent racks for ~$500 and have $2,300 for tools i don't have (yet). For a successful company like RRB it makes sense due to time saved in the long run.
I am not saying its cheap....but most high end things aren't
What size is this rack?
$2800 kills it for me, looks great but way too expensive for a home shop.
Needs to be sub $600 imo especially since you can get a full setup like this (www.sabercabinets.com/b_Magnumcabinets.html) for just over $3000 and for a normal person in a home shop this is more than enough space for pretty much everything.
Where is Levrack made? If it's made in the USA with US steel, then that explains the cost. If it's made in China, it's overpriced.
You could just put a good sealer on the partial board and they should be good for years.
it''s an upside down compactus, with a MUCH lower load rating.
ill stick with my compactus unit with a 2200Lb /bay rating, they are designed to be packed full of paper and that shit is mega heavy.
levrack is easier if you have a shitty non level floor in your shed/work area.
Wow! A lot of old Hustlers and Playboys could fit in there!
Give the Library of Congress a run for the money!
I always read the instructions, before building, sometimes even before buying....that also tell you something about the quality of the product. How fantastic do you think you are, that for all the things you buy, you know better then the people that thought about it and did design, fabrication and testing, that you don't need to read the instructions?😜
If you can, you are better then me, congrats.😎 It's not a shame, or less manly, to read an instruction manual.🤓
I'm only half joking, so don't take it too serious. 😉😁👍
Guust: =D
honestly i was all for the instructions...greg's idea lol....more for fun tho
I have downloaded many a pdf before buying something
Guys: The man builds gigantic post frame buildings for a living, I'm sure he can conquer a shelving system. haha...
LOL Because I like to see how stuff works prior to buy doesn't have anything to do with RR or Levrack. I don't need one nor would I have $2800 to buy one.
4:18 Greg shaking his head.... :-)
The cheaper alternative would have been to make the left and right racks stationary, and one double-faced mobile in the middle. This would be the same amount of storage for WAY cheaper.
It's a great idea, but it could have been configured better
Smart people made that's themself :)
Sure dids lol
I like the look, but $700.00 each for four shelving units? If you were pressed for room, which you are not in your cavernous facility, paying such a premium dollar for movable shelves might be arguable. I can’t see the justification. That small criticism aside, I always enjoy your work/videos.
Get organized for $2800, more like get taken for a ride for $2800
Doom Punk all depends
If you have the cash why not looks great. Keep up the great vids.
I see comments like this about everything on RUclips, especially new RVs. People don't understand the cost of things. Of course you can buy cheaper storage solutions. Just like you can buy a cheap Chevy over a loaded Mercedes. They both get you from point A to B.
Got a good laugh at the Basketball Ring you snuck in there...
If you want the rear of the shelves to be black. Just flip the board and reattach
I couldn't but I want both sides black
Looks great,... but 2800$ 😳
Why peg board when you cannot attach anything to them
Kyle, RTFM man! Then you never have leftover hardware. I'm an engineer and know most customer issues can be remedied by documentation.
John LeJeune actually I talked with levrack. They are currently sending out their hardware packs generically sometimes for many different configs.
🤣🤣🤣 I really liked the part where (04:09) you struggled not to say a word like stupid.
All you do is Boss Greg around - you don't let him have a word. instead of going out for lunch why didn't you just send GREG out to fetch it - maybe next job!! BTW great info....
Sweet love it !!!
id say by the looks of your shop, it doesnt matter how much storage you have, there will always be clutter.
change it to plywood be a net storage
