How do we make sure we have an open racquet, to ensure the ball isn't driving straight into the tin?

Your swing path can go more of a 45 degree line and you adjust the angle of the racquet to hit higher or lower.

    Wonderful video! Thank you.
Question: In a previous video the focus was on standing on the back foot (= right foot in your case) and hit the shot and the advantages of that. In this video, the forehand is played leaning on the front foot.
Are there situations where you assess the front foot to be the better choice?

The decision to front or back foot are al dependent on the ball to body positioning and the choice to take the ball on the rise or hit it late. Both have advantages but I like the front foot to be toward the front wall not the side wall. Beginners tend to take front foot more and advanced will often choose back foot for more deception and options. Either way we teach ant foot anywhere so you must learn both.

I'm new to squash and I love playing it. Your channel has been a lot of help.
Recently, I got my elbow hyper extended while doing a backhand drive and it took a lot of time to heal.
Are there any technical approaches that I can use to avoid such injuries?
Thanks again for these nice videos.

You are obviously following through too much and releasing the control of your arm after striking. Learn to punch drive which is a full muscle strength hit with no release and therefore full control of your arm at all times and you can not re injure it. I have posted a video on this on my channel so check it out.
