I think the L9H is the one for me. I think once you start to get into these higher tiers of image quality, the difference between the "quality" of a sort of perfect OLED image vs the "quality" of a UST at a much bigger size...I think it starts to become negligible. I think at the upper echelon of image quality you really are starting to battle over percentages, maybe even less than one percent difference in "quality" that only the most intense visual analysis would yield.

I'm very interested in Hisense. Their TVs seem to outperform almost every other product on the market. The only thing that gives me concern is the number of people I read saying their TV failed after a year or two and they'll never buy the brand again. If I were to buy one I would have to get at least a 5 year third party warranty, which would add another couple of hundred to the price, but it would still be cheaper than the competition. It would be nice if Hisense itself offered extended warranties as an optional extra so if anything did go wrong they would be able to immediately fix or replace it.

The UX being an 85in is kind of a shame honestly. Great for people with the space for that kind of a TV, not so great for those of us with even just a little less space. The U9 series that the UX is seemingly replacing always came in a 75in size, which is right on the border of what I can fit within reason. An 85in would basically take up like 85% to 90% of my wall. And that's to say nothing of cost. Apparently there was either a European or Chinese listing for the UX already and it converted to something like $4255, which is even more expensive than the U9's typical $3000 price point. It does make some sense given that it is larger, but that still hurts. TCL is working on a QM8 model with the same ridiculous 5000 dimming zone count, but also 3000nits instead of Hisense's advertised 2500nits, and it doesn't have a listed size. So my hope is that it comes in a 75in size. Not that the U8K or QM8 would be slouches at that size, they both have well over 1000 dimming zones and around 2000nits which is more than we've typically had on 4K displays. TCL tried it last year with the C935, but that never made it to the US, kind of like how the U9H fell off the face of the earth after its announcement, at least the C935 released in some markets.
