Hearing /seeing what you've created here makes me feel so glad that i fell in love with the MB at 1st glance and purchased one in 2018 , now discontinued apparently and im a little surprised this has happened, meanwhile much gratitude for sharing these beautiful patches and videos ❤
Outstanding work on a fantastic musical instrument. IMHO, a lot of today's "synths" are rhymic sound toys and are not designed to be played musically. Wonderful work!
No need to buy - it's included in a MCC archive with all the other patches from this video, available for download here (or at least it should be... it has been a few years ;)): drive.google.com/open?id=1fTF-Rok6XnQj7m2S4i2_XqRwKp8aOOav
Beautiful to epic, mellow to classical, brute to cute… Thank you so much for sharing. By the way, 9:35 sounds somehow like Vivaldi's Four Season on speed, preferably the Summer storm :)
Unbelievable, amazing, just great your sounds! I have my One for a week and I'm still totally overwhelmed ;-) Accordingly, you would share the patches? Of course, I would also like to contribute to future sound developments ;-))
Thank you so much! You commented here in my MatrixBrute video, but since you mention the One I get the feeling you meant to post in "Bones," the all Moog One track video I posted last week (or maybe someone else's Moog One video?). Is that the case? :)
14:33 - super curious about this patch. Is individual split mapped to the same tempo but different signatures or each section has it's own tempo? Very cool indeed!
Not a split - I don’t remember off the top of my head and I am away from the Brute at the moment, but it is an LFO rate modulated by pitch; if you have a MatrixBrute you can download all the patches in the video (link is in one of the comment replies here), find that one and look at the settings in the MOD page. 👍😊
@@AndreaPessino Will do thanks. I am just leaning towards buying it. I think it's cool you aren't selling your patches too. Good job! Will definitely try it out. I know it's an exaggeration but that patch made me wanna buy this synth more lol
@@Vadlife sync your LFOs to the tempo of the sequencer/arpeggiator clock, and then patch your LFO speeds to be tracked by the keyboard. Thus, the higher you play, the faster the modulation, but because it's synced to the internal clock, the speed will change evenly across the time divisions. 😉
Thanks! The visuals were created using an iOS app called WZBL (Wizibel). It's a simple audio visualizer that supports importing audio tracks and rendering out clips - ran several instances of it, made the audio-sync'ed clips and then blended them over the live video in the final edit.
Mate these are fantastic. My knowledge of synthesis is reasonably basic but having this beast is inspiring me to learn a lot more. I love trying to dissect presets. I’d kill to have these ones. Are they available anywhere? 10/10 would pay.
Thanks! No need to pay... ;) here's a project with some of my patches (32 of them), including all those played in the video. You can use the Arturia MIDI Control Center to import and upload to your Brute: drive.google.com/file/d/1X5hq5nt1NdVUcDJlr3VQwPSDdyrMYyQo/view Cheers!
@@AndreaPessino Bummer! The link seems to be dead -- any chance of another download link? Really like the patches and would love to try them out at home.
Arpeggios are very easy to setup - pretty much just enable the arpeggiator, set its options and play some chords. :) If you mean the paraphonic mode chords, those are definitely one of the more involved things to grasp - then again, compared to most mono synths with paraphonic features, the MB is very straightforward . The fact that there are no menus and all controls are per-function make it really fun and rewarding to design sounds on.
The Brute is in paraphonic mode so that each of the 3 oscillators is assigned to its own note in a chord. The modulation is just LFOs routed to various filter parameters, plus a bit of FM fading in and out for some extra crunchy, dissonant flare. :)
All the patches in the video are available for download - look at my reply to Andrew Greaves in the comments above for a link to the Arturia MIDI Control Center project.
which ate the effects you used with the big sky...i have it too...sometimes this pedal doesnt work correctly...very strange...stereo become mono...or the effect is after the sounds...as if it was a latence issue...have you got issue with the pedal ?
TFS Andrea, this is amazing. One of the things I'm still not satisfied with the MB is the basses, have you been able to program fat moog voyager style basses with this thing? It would be completely awesome if you could share tricks to get that and some examples with us :D Thanks for this amazing video!!!
Thanks! Can't say that I made a deliberate effort to get "fat Moog style basses" on the MB - I am guessing it would not be a natural/easy thing to accomplish. but it would be a fun challenge to give it a try and I think something of note could be achieved regardless of the outcome. One of these days I will give it a shot. :)
Yo Hector go check out Marc doty's videos on the matrix brute. There's one where he also walks through his patches and he has a minimoog patch on his matrixbrute
Sure - you can download an Arturia MCC project file containing all these patches (and a few of others) right here: drive.google.com/open?id=1fTF-Rok6XnQj7m2S4i2_XqRwKp8aOOav Cheers!
Have you downloaded the project file from here? drive.google.com/open?id=1fTF-Rok6XnQj7m2S4i2_XqRwKp8aOOav If you did and uploaded the patches to your Brute, and used the same patch locations, then O08 should be named "para_triads," which is the sound played at around 9:30, just with a sustain pedal held and then playing 3 note chords. The patch is actually pretty simple, Brute in paraphonic mode, all VCOs going to both filters, several modulations to filter parameters, plus LFO2 slowly fading in and out some FM from VCO3 into the VCF.
I also have the BigSky ... makes a *huge* difference, doesn't it ? The effects on the MatrixBrute are a shame.. Arturia made a mistake including them. Either they should have gone with a design with no effects, or one with good effects. But not something in between..
Laurence Vanhelsuwe yeah, the Big Sky is incredible - it makes everything better, like butter. :) As for the Brute effects, they are indeed quite minimal and not very useful - except for the chorus, which is very nice.
Another BigSky owner here :) I still like the MatrixBrute FX though. IMO, just don't view them as general/standard effects, but rather a way of having a programmable and modulatable BBD element as apart of the voice for when that takes your fancy. Anyway, great patches, Andrea!
Obviously. But will your older software synths still run on your computer in 30 years? I'm using synthesizers that are 30 years old, they still work. But half of the software I used last year doesn't, even on the very same hardware, because of the system software upgrade pushed by the vendor (for "security" reasons, fuck)!
This is great man

Waouhh , the patch at 4 minutes 24 is AMAZING ...very nice work Andrea mate
Really great work man
Excellent Demo Andrea! The only limitation is your imagination! WOW! Great work.
Impressive Andrea ! A big thank you from Paris ! ( And another big one for sharing those patches !! )
These are really nice. Andrea. Thank you for sharing them!
Awesome patches. Loved the visuals. Thanks.
Love that patch @6.47.
I will be receiving mine this week and can't wait to dive in too this beast.
Great patches!

the 5th patch - jaw dropped
Really does not sound like a traditional monosynth and that is very interesting.
bravissimo !!!

Was it hard to create a chord arpeggiation?

You do chords. Would be cool to see a video of that being put together.
@@Vadlife I believe that's an LFO creating that arpeggio feel if you are talking about the patch at 9:33
how did you make the pulsing chords effect? around 9:30?
The Brute is in paraphonic mode so that each of the 3 oscillators is assigned to its own note in a chord. The modulation is just LFOs routed to various filter parameters, plus a bit of FM fading in and out for some extra crunchy, dissonant flare. :)

I've never had a problem with my Big Sky in the year or so that I've had it - most of the time I just tweak a hall or room reverb and let it ring. ;)
