  • Apple filed a patent showing a weird Mac, essentially a Keyboard with Apple Silicon, taking into account all the other leaks regarding their future strategy (and the rumored Mac mini M1 Pro / M2 Pro), here's my concept of how it could be like

    People are making their own MacBoards. If you can find a MacBook with a broken screen on like eBay then it makes sense to just use an external monitor so at that point why not take off the screen and you have a portable desktop with a keyboard, trackpad and battery. You can even use AirPlay to make it wireless. It’s a pretty cool way to reuse something that is broken and make it into a unique device.

      That was one of my inspirations for this video actually, but I really doubt they'll ever sell what's essentially a MacBook without a screen, it would probably still be too expensive compared to a MacBook that you can use portably without needing external displays

    this is like the mac nano basically. Sounds cool ig, its the imac but better in terms of all in one design. Use any monitor you like

    Probably most Mac users are used to having a wireless keyboard (except when on Macbook), and Prosumers almost never use a computer without the charger on. Like you said Apple hates cables, so I think it would be awesome to have this MacBoard charging wirelessly and then find some way to connect all the cables to the wireless charger that is somehow hidden. Right now I can't think of a way to hide the cables without a hole on the table right under the MacBoard, and I don't know if it's possible to send image, sound and data reliably by wireless. But a MacBoard with only 1 cable coming from the back could be a start.

      Is it even possible to power an entire computer via wireless charging?

    Look at how little space the mac mini uses. I think they could cram a m2 chip and a heatsink into the keyboard. Maybe not the pro or max though.

      Quinn from snazzy labs made a video where he puts the hardware from the M1 Mac mini into a more compact case he made, but even with that more optimized design it’s still not small enough, but even if it was, who would buy it? and how would Apple price it?

    • @unknownuser1736
      @unknownuser1736 2 года назад

      @@AndreaCopellino Then again in snazzy they made it small both ways so it looked realistic and people could comprehend how much of a difference it is, if somebody were to make it wider for the keyboard, it could fit an m1 at I assume half the height than the one at snazzy's video because it is spread apart. Only problem is the actual keyboard although apple has already shrunk that, so it is very possible but your points still stand with who would buy it, pricing, and marketing.

    It does make me wonder if the A13 in the Studio display will function as a AirPlay screen for the MacBoard. The iPad air with the M1 chip shows how small they can make the devices with the chips and a battery. I wouldn't be shocked (as it would not power a display) that a small battery running everyday task could last close to 12 hours. A portable device to take to meeting and the office where there are monitors and Apple TVs that work as the displays and no cables (but the option to use one). This could be made for cheaper than the Macbook Air. The Mac mini I do not think is Apples vision going forwards. It's an old design.

    • @user-le4vk3ye8l
      @user-le4vk3ye8l 2 года назад

      It will need a trackpad though as well. They could also allow the iPad to be used as monitors. It may affect there Mac sales but an iPad that runs MacOS only when you use this keyboard will make it a great laptop as well.

    • @AndreaCopellino

      Interesting idea, but I’m skeptical it would capture a big enough market for Apple to consider it worthy of being produced, and it’s not easy to advertise
