    I took my CDL test yesterday and failed 🥲 i knew i was gonna fail on something stupid and it was. It was over the damn applied air brake test. I was at the part where you start pumping the brakes until the light and buzzer come on. The thing about the truck we used is that it kinda "glitches" for a quick sec when you do it. What i mean by this is that when youre pressing on the brakes and the air pressure is dropping along with the needle. As it's dropping, at one point it'll randomly turn on and off for a quick half a second. It'll do this when it's around 75 psi. But my error was that i didnt count it at that point because it doesnt give you a proper reading. The needle is still dropping. And then the light and buzzer finally stay on at about 60 psi. Thats when i counted it. But the examiner said that wasnt correct 😐

    • @classaschoolcali
      @classaschoolcali  6 месяцев назад

      I’m confused
      So did you ever give a number /reading when the first light came on?

    • @quackinator1609
      @quackinator1609 6 месяцев назад

      @@classaschoolcali I didn't give the first number when they first came on because like I said they only turned on for half a second before they turned off. I didn't think they would count that

    • @classaschoolcali
      @classaschoolcali  6 месяцев назад

      Ok let me say this. (BOTH THE LIGHT AND BUZZER MUST STAY ON)when reading off that number to the examiner
      The light comes on first,then the buzzer
      They usually both activate around 60 psi
      If the buzzer happens to go off while trying to figure out the number, then press the brake again to make it come back on
      If that makes sense

    • @quackinator1609

    Only the tractor emergency break popped. The trailer never did. That is a failed exam.

    • @classaschoolcali
      @classaschoolcali  Год назад

      If that was the case then @2:49 while performing the second safety start,you would hear a pop sound when pulling the trailer break 😢

    • @truckerstevecdlinstructor
      @truckerstevecdlinstructor Год назад +1

      If you fan down and not sure if the trailer value popped out, do this -
      Fan all of the air out of the system. Never touch the trailer valve with your hand. The valve may have popped and you just was not sure. If all of the air is out and the valve is still in, the dash valve needs to be repaired. Not a fail. Only had one student touch and pulled the valve out. I said, “You failed “.

    • @truckerstevecdlinstructor
      @truckerstevecdlinstructor Год назад +3

      Wanted to add this: if doing the tractor protection valve or dash valve check and one valve popped out and you stop fanning and tell me that complete my air brake test, Yes - you failed. But As the nice DMV tester I am, student will you fan two more times on the brake. The valve should come out. If not, I know we have a dash valve issue and will no longer be a fail.

      Both valves pop out. Hard to see it on the video but later when the valves was touched, none of the valves popped out- they were out. Passed the test!

    For the service brake test, did you hold the service brake as you released the clutch and then rolled or just released, rolled, and then applied? Thank you! CDL driver of 4 years here and getting auto restriction removed and forgot!

    • @classaschoolcali
      @classaschoolcali  7 месяцев назад

      Service brake test low gear and release the clutch a little once it starts to roll a couple feet. Clutch brake
      If that makes sense
