Shout out to the Sandworms!
Brilliant performance all around!
agreed! 😁
Oscar nomination performance
Timothy Chalmette played Henry V in "The King", I still think it was that role that got him Dune, and it was a movie that he had screen presence.
Yes! I love The King 😁
One of my fav films !
On set he was a wee princess tho
Zendaya gave a great acting performance ! It is sad to reduce it to “omg she’s beautiful”.
Zendaya is great, but there's only so much I can clip into 60 seconds lmao 🤣🤣
She is beautiful. It's just a fact.
She was just angry and moody the whole time, I guess that's a "great performance" these days
@@judigemini178 she's supposed to be angry, she's losing the man she loves to some made up prophecy
@@juliasalmond5195 I’m talking about the whole damn movie, she was sulking the whole time & that’s pretty boring to endure. In the books chani is much wiser/more mature and despite not liking it she GETS why Paul is doing what he’s doing, she understands everything is not all about her & supports him as best she can. This is portrayed well in the miniseries version too. Zendaya’s angry snotty version of chani was tedious & unnecessary.
It's not a sequel but a continuation of a two part story. DUNE: Messiah is a sequel.
Can't wait for it! 😁
Zendaya was not an effective Chani
To say Timothy does not have screen presence is incorrect, have you not seen him in The King? He is absolutely brilliant, no doubt.
I've seen The King, and I stand by what I said 😭 He's a great actor though! 😊
Austin Butler looks like Cary Elwes so much in this movie. Im starting to see him playing Westley and Javier Bardem as Inigo Montoya. I can imagine Javier saying 'My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die' although Paul Atreides should have said that to Vladimir.
I wouldn't have ever thought of that! Thanks for pointing it out 😁
As you wish. 😂
Hands down one of the best films I have ever seen.
Agreed!! 😁
Freyd and Sandworms - what else do we need in our movies 🍿???!!!??? 😂😂😂
Agree completely with your review. The actors, the story, the music and cinematography, all amazing!
Thank you! Such a great movie! 😁
For anyone who had read the books, there is a very clear the divergence with the two latest movies. With Dune Pt2 moving away most noticeably from the original story. I suspect there is an obvious attempt by the director not to recreate or be seen to remake the original 1984 movie version. The 1984 version(s) with reduxs, etc follow the book far more closely and are a more faithful adaptation. Despite some obvious budgetary issues.
While the new versions are good films in their own right, and I did enjoy them for what they are, they are not the book, and I feel an opportunity was lost.
I've got homework! I need to read the books 😭
Butler woulda made a better Crow
honestly, I can see it!!
Seen it three times and still wasn't to go back and watch again! Soooooo good
Heck yeah! Such a good movie 😁
Seen it in IMAX three times! Absolutely amazing!
The visuals were great, Feyd and the Baron were great, as well as some others. But I was a bit distracted by some of the changes.
It was ok, but I didn't care for it overall.
I enjoyed part 1 much better.
Understandable! I enjoyed part two better 😁
Stop lying about Zendaya being beautiful OMG just relax, it's okay to admit to yourself that she's a plain jane. Stop being so scared.
she is beautiful 😭😭
I agree, I don't see why people think she's so beautiful.
‘Plot twists.’ HE HAS NOT READ THE BOOK!! 😡😡
I most definitely have not read the book 😂😊
@@loft801you need to read the first one at least. It's a thick one but well worth sticking with it.
It's an unintentional comedy.😂
TS has always had amazing screen presence you just failed to capture it. He plays to perfection in leadership roles. Always appearing weak to emerge as a giant on screen. Put some respect on his name 💯
I can't 😭😭 his voice and acting is what carries 😭
Just saw the film for my second time. I liked it the first time but I was jarred by a couple changes from the novel. Having had a week to process, I think that almost all the changes were for the best, but I do wish we got one scene with Thufir.
The changes to Chani make her a more interesting character. Paul and Chani's relationship and the choices that Paul is compelled to make are simultaneously heartbreaking and poetic. 10/10
I have to disagree with the changes to Chani. It destroys the main theme of the work. When they made her a skeptic throughout the film, and destroy the idea of her being the true empire builder, the true power behind the throne, it has effectively killed the setup for Dune: Messiah. However, you may see some way of getting out of the corner they have painted themselves in. But I can't, not without being utterly ham-handed with it. Ideas?
@remdog1138 Chani was the main power behind the throne, and this was the main theme? I'm not sure that we read the same book.
The main theme was the danger of charismatic figures and their ability to manipulate the masses. Messiah, in particular, is about one's inability to escape their destiny, even with the benefit of prescience.
Good thoughts! I don't think they've written themselves into a corner because Paul claims he's had a vision where Chani joins them. I love the setup and am super stoked for the Messiah 😊
@Blood-Fartz No, you are absolutely right, it is about the dangers of the cult of personality. But part of that is the setup, where when Chani gets upset about Paul marrying Irulan, Jessica tells her that 'history will remember us as wives' to settle her. That exchange reinforces the cult built around him, and that is lost. I didn't mean that the theme was about the women, sorry for the confusion.
@@remdog1138
I always loved the irony of that closing line. Irulan is literally the historian of the story.
Thank you loft801, appreciate your thoughts 👍
No, thank you for watching 😊
Watched it last night. Usually not a fan of scifi but god damn, dune has a special place in my little nerdy heart
it has a special place in mine too 😊😁
Trilogy? Are they not adapting all 6 books?
As far as I'm aware, no. They're only adapting the first two books 🙂
TS looks too skinny at first- but his voice when he screams at someone is just suburb! That inner “monster” lurking under the surface is the presence that carries through the movie. Well don, I say!” 😁
My thoughts exactly! 😁
Screen presence is created by cinematographers and editors.
and actors 😭
Who told you it was a trilogy? I mean I guess it could be but there are 7 books. And everything after the first book (which was the first 2 movies) gets convoluted as all hell. Not sure what the 3rd movie would even be about considering the next book starts about 15 years after the start of the Holy War
The director Denis Villeneuve said he'd only do a trilogy and not go past three films 😊
@@loft801 I’ll watch another villenueve Dune don’t get me wrong. But I feel like he’s gonna have to stray drastically from the source material
Timothy chalomet no screen presence? Are you kidding?
I am not 😂😭
Another critic who doubted Timothee. It's like you all have never watched him in The King? 🙄🙄
I've seen it and I LOVE the movie but he was okay in that movie 😭
Christopher Walken as Emperor Shadam IV was a terrible casting decision. That was no the role for him. The part needed a more robust imposing presence. He is too old, snd skinny for the part.
During both Dune movie versions, Lynch and Villeneuve’s, the Emperor cast was one of the weakest during both productions. Miguel Ferrer was also terrible at portraying the Emperor, but at least he had a more robust and energetic presence for the part.
Fair opinion!!
You would be surprised what a king or queen or emporer on a battlefield will do for moral .
Thry ssid napoleon on the battlefield was like having an extrs 40 thousand men.
Tolkien said gandalf snd aragon were worth more thsn a thousand men in a battle.
Looks like they just wanted to tell a story, and not teach a lesson like so many flop movies of recent past.
Agreed! Recent movies haven't been hitting 😭
Trilogy? They took 2 movies to do one book. There are seven original books.
Im not sure i like that math.
Denis is only doing three movies 😭
Beautifully shot, very well made. Story is meh at best. Dune has always been a crap story. Barely give a crap about a single character.
I can understand how you feel. But I do care about Stilgar and Paul 😭
Cool review
Thank you 😊
@@loft801 No problem 😁
After the battle thorins cousin becomes king , he gives them money to rebuild laketown and to restore dale , bard becomes its king , his son After him. Both live long enough to fight in the war of the ring. .an army attacks them at the same time as in return of the king and gondor
Bard and Legolas are the goats 👌
I agree with everything. Do you know the books? Zendaya is beautiful but not my type.
I've never read the books 😭😭
Fantastic sequel!
Indeed it is!
Zendaya is not only beautiful! Her acting skillls are impressive!!
They're more impressive in Challengers ☺️
Zandaya, a terrible actress, just so, so bad. Casting her was a crime. I had no idea why they did this. This move is great but could have been perfect if not her
nooo 😭😭
You are the only person I have seen that thinks this. She's not on the level of Bardem or Butler but she did an awesome job.
Okay, Zendaya is mid at best. Quit the cap.
no cap 😭😭
Anya Taylor-Joy - just no
Why not 😭
I heard it's NOT going to be the FINAL FILM!!!!!!!
why do all these youtubers pronounce villeneuve like it is a spanish name?
My name's Diego man, I'm just going with what flowed 😭😂
fantastic....good film
yes! 😊
Nah, didn’t care about the characters due to poor storytelling and an overwhelming (in a bad sense) soundtrack.
dang 😭😭😭
Vee la new wah. Sure. Let's go with that
It’s pronounced duh-NEE vill-NUV
my bad g 😂
티모시살로메 ❤😊
😁😁
The next movie is gonna have a few guy punches that the audience might not like.
I'm okay with that! I like gut punches in movies. Give me some stakes! 😁
@@loft801 You'll love Dune Messiah then. They did have a few hints. Paul's visions ending in horror, the visions from the first movie and especially the ending of Part 2. Only thing is what happens is much worse than the visions. By the end, Paul was completely broken. Outside of being killed, every bad thing that can happen to Paul happens.
I believe the gems belonged yo legolas mother. Thrasuils late wife , and they were having some work done on the jews. ( dwarfs are the best jewelers in middle earth) but the dragon came. They hold done sacred meaning, i thi k they hold some starlight thst elves revere . Its sentimental and price less . Or worth a significant fortune .
Anya Taylor joy need to go take a nap
😭😭
Zendaya is a 5, maybe a 6/10 max.
If she's a 5, who's a 10? 😭
@@loft801 Katheryn Winnick. From the movie: Souheila Yacoub & Léa Seydoux.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE "WEIRDING WAY" ?????
ALSO, WHY 21ST CENTURY FEMINISM FROM CHANI ???
TIO MUCH OF A DISTRACTION FROM THE ORIGINAL STORY 😩
Can we please stop pretending and lying that Zendaya is a good actor and beautiful she’s mediocre at best
blasphemy 😭😭
Wow, reducing Zendaya's comment to "she's so beautiful" while complementing everyone else on their acting is petty sad.
Sorry Luis, I couldn't fit all my praise for Zendaya in a 60 second clip 😂😭
She is nothing more, than just beautiful. Her acting is mediocre and I'm being generous there.
DU-NEE VILL-NEH-VEH, s’il tu plait.
my bad 😂😭😊
Les anglophones! Pas les meilleurs critiques de cinéma. Il n'a même pas mentionné Frank Herbert
You have no precense
so true 😂😭😭
Not heard one bad review ,,Hollywood propaganda machine is in overdrive
It's always in overdrive. This is just a good movie 😂
Nueveah It’s pronounced nooev but okay
my bad king 😂
U call this a review?
Nope! I call it a one-minute review 😁
Tell me that you never read the book without telling me you haven't read the book...
I definitely haven't read the book! 😂😊
It's more a hexology than a trilogy 😅
The books sure but they’re only making 3 films
To make 6 movies you first need the movies to make profit.
I do believe villeneuve will expand upon these 3 films and later makes 3 more or a tv series in this world. Just like peter jackson did.
@@gabrielaleactus9932 maybe, after messiah is a good place to leave it though given it’s the end of Paul and chani in the story. You’ve also got to factor in the aging of the cast like Jason, Rebecca and anya. If films are 4 years apart there’s probably no chance of keeping the same cast and you’ve got to wonder if it’s worth it at that point
@@joshdavis3873 based on the recent interview he gave i think he'll stop or take sabbatical from this series for a while or forever.
I personally think if i want anyone to make movies based on the original material it's better to choose someone who's a fan of that material and tries ro stay true to that. Villeneuve seems to be the right guy for dune and I'm not sure anyone else can do justice to the dune books better than him.
He also admitted the later dune books will be hard to interpret on screen so maybe he'll stop after the 3rd one. But i can't think of anyone better than him to do these dune stuff now.
The recent book-movie/series portrayals like witcher and rings of power really make me scared of the unworthy directors.
dUne 🤭
It was impressive visually, but I didnt feel engaged. Id see it again, but $40 for a ticket, coke, and popcorn...
I understand that! I never get snacks or drinks, so I thought $15 was a good price 😊
Its lovely to hear such enthusiasm for a movie,Dune is amazing. Also, and I mean this in a nice way cos it makes me smile, your 'tache looks like two capybara about to boop noses😊
hahaha thank you! they do look like they're about to boop noses 😂😁
