Hey I am Tunisian, you have to eat the spicy paste which is called Harissa Nablayia, with some olive oil, and tuna, or put some in your food, like when you do some meat BBQ or juste try the Ojja with shrimps or Meat Balls it's amazing, add a little spoon in it ! Here's the recipe : 3 Tomatoes, 1hot peppers or jalapeños and 2 sweet peppers and 1 medium onions and as much garlic as u want, panfry them in some olive oil, add salt, black pepper, grounded coriander, some carvi powder, red pepper flakes and harrissa add water and let it cook for 5-10 minutes untile the water is evaporated, then add 2 to 3 eggs depends on the number of persons and mixe but no completely, keep it a little moist and eat it with baguette ( the real baguette ) !!! Thanks for tasting our food, i watched your videos for like 3 years i guess, i love them so muuuuuch
By the way this is the base of the Ojja, then you can add meat balls, merguez ( tunisian spicy beef sausage ), shrimps, potatoes, chicken breast cut in cubes... enjoy :D

The chili (Harissa) is sooo common in Tunisia, especially that brand! Everyone eats it with bread salat and tuna or even cook with it. It tastes really good if you add it into scrambled egg!! I haven't had grenadine since I was a kid (Shirley Temples) and I never knew that it was pomegranate-flavored. I've always thought that it was cherry-flavored, probably because it's red.
"Grenadine" as a candy flavour (or sugar syrup flavour that can also be diluted in water or cocktails instead of being used to make candy) isn't a very consistant flavor and each and every region have its own recipe. Tunisian grenadine (north-african grenadine in general and spanish grenadine) is based on pomegranate. Other countries definition of "grenadine" is more "mixed berries to create a sweet flavour that tastes a bit like pomegranate paste". You may have been right all along. ;)
Alexander Eiffel oh that makes sense now! I'm used to the French grenadine which is more berries to create a pomegranate flavour but I thought I was just making that up, so thanks for solving that puzzle!
Such a fun video! The packaging was so pretty! ("Grenade" does mean pomegranate and grenadine used to be made from pomegranate juice but not anymore, nowadays it is (most of the time) a mix of several berries and fruits (we call them the "fruits rouges" : strawberry, cherry, blackcurrent, rasberry...) and it's mostly found under the shape of a squash-like drink that you mix with water. So that explains why it doesn't really taste like pomegranate haha)

We eat the halawa the sesame thing with flat bread called khubz. like rolls for breakfast, we mix it with laughing cow cheese, or greek feta cheese and drink tea/coffee.
