I like how he talks about sneaking in melody into the metal becuase he couldnt with nathan so he gets his melody with swisgar vocals in the first Galaktikon album. In the become the storm he wanted to sneak more metal and nathan in as an F U to adult swim and to give his fans what they wanted. What a fickle and genius man.
***** its a joke, in the show Metalocalypse, the incredible Dethklok lead guitarist, Skwisgaar Skwigelf, can't read music because he has it. Also, Skwisgaar tends to pluralize words that should be singular. Brendan voices most of the cartoon band, including Skwisgaar, so I jokingly asked if he also suffers from musics dislexia☺
But...it is spelled 'dysl...' oh, wait...yeah...I get it now. Ha...ha-ha..........mmm. (Yes, I realize this was 4 years ago. But, while on this topic, I'll give a shout-out to my aunt, who taught teachers how to teach dyslexic students, and still teaches students privately.)
Sounds A minor in the first part but plug in an f to that it makes a minor 6th (f major) to flat 7th (g major) to root (a major) kinda progression. Really cool sounding!
Jet Pack it's really weird but I super love hearing demos and raw versions of songs, especially from Brendon. It reminds me of being a kid and finding bands on Myspace, particularly the Metalocalypse songs straight from the show which sometimes were slightly extended or ones we'd never get like the banana sticker song. The show was such a big part of my life growing up, and while I'm happy that Brendon is successful with Galaktikon, it doesn't quell the anger I harbor towards Mike Lazzo and Adult Swim lol. I appreciate then for being the medium to bring me this, but Lazzo is a fucking baby and he basically slapped us all in the face and mocked us when all we wanted was an ending to our show.
Anyone know what he's using for input? Is he playing through his amp with some mics, or is he using a preamp or something? I'm using a line 6 preamp and I don't get anywhere near that quality, but if I try using a mic I get static out the ass.
+Stevil935 I think he uses the Boss ME 80 as an audio input, just connect over USB and you can record directly in your DAW... that's why I want to buy one
it sounds like it could be on galaktikon.. but maybe gene meant the drums are going to sound like a dethklok record.. cause the whole point of brendon's galaktikon was to have music that wasnt heavy enough to be a dethklok song, cause he likes melody, not just death metal.
That’s the best way to use pro tools. and when you’re done with it you can just toss all that gear, the MacBook Pro, and the Avid shit in the trash. Next song idea you get new shit.
He's gonna pull a Nathan at the end and delete it all!
I do wonder how many songs he has deleted.
Lol yea
🤣
That was probably the funniest joke om the show in terms of being a muscian
I love learning more about his creative songwriting process. Brendon never ceases to amaze me!
He put this on galaktikon 2. It's rebuilding a planet.
Rick Overton thank you!! I knew i recognized it from that album but i couldn’t remember where

Definitely sounds like a Galaktikon song. So cool
Wish I had a big bucket of Hoglan licks to riff over...
I don't know about anyone else but Rebuilding a Planet sounds like a love song to me
Rebuilding a planet rocks my world so hard♥️ thank you Brendan for the years and years of laughs and music. 🤘
Knowing that this turned into a Galaktikon song made me pay much closer attention after i heard that lead!
is that Brendon Vikernes?
+Potato The brain That was my first thought
loooooooooooooool
Awesome workshop. This guy is so talented and creative.
It's startin' to get nice and heavy.
Josh Rhodes yeah, but he might need to re-record it right there. *points at Mariana Trench*
I wrote and recorded a song last night that sounds a lot like early Immortal back when Abbath was on drums
Brandon small is so awesome
Brendon's got some Varg facial hair goin' on
TheSolarEngine and the hat!
I wonder if Brendan has "musics dislexia"?☺

munstrumridcully musics dysglexkia
his music would be more life and dynamic, instead math with soundcard.

@@TavisAllen cool, your aunt sounds like she found a fulfilling career! Wish i could :(
Brendon small looks badass like that
Brendon Is Making More Music That's Gonna Come Out Soon.... I Don't Know When...
Sounds A minor in the first part but plug in an f to that it makes a minor 6th (f major) to flat 7th (g major) to root (a major) kinda progression. Really cool sounding!
Is this galaktikon 2 ?
how did it take 9 years for this to pop onto my feed
The fact that he can shred on a Les Paul like that gives me hope
I knew I remembered Rebuilding a Planet from somewhere. Holy shit thats cool lol
House Bearcrusher Late Night DUDE!!! I felt the same thing, i was like, this sounds really familiar...

Genius...
I hear the home movies theme song somewhere in there
He's good.
This eventually turned into Rebuilding a Planet from Galaktikon II
Metal god

Line 6 UX2 is a pretty good interface as well for its price.
Oh nice he uses the same pedal board as i do
What software is he using? I'm considering buying Logic Pro X
"I might be peaking a little. It doesn't matter."
We'll fix it in post.
I think this became a song in the Doomstar Requiem?
nah, doomstar came out in 2013. and now its 2017.. holy shit 4 years...
oldGnRrocks1 This was published in 2014
whats your point lmao
Nah its 'rebuilding a planet' of galaktikon 2
@@oldGnRrocks1 It's gonna be ten in a year!
REBUILDING A PLANET
It makes me happy to know he has the same first name as me. XD
Hi Brendon.
張卉榛 Hello there.
So i learned the song, to bad its not an actual published song.. Atleast i got some insight into how to capture the Brendon Small sound...
Cagalli of ORB He finished this demo and put it on Galaktikon II: Before The Storm. It's the ending song, Rebuilding a Planet.
OMG, he's the GOD!!!!
sounds a little like "go into the water"
so he tunes in standard, right???
horriblequin major third down
Which song this one became?
hasnt become a song yet.. might be on galaktikon II
it sounds like it could be on galaktikon.. but maybe gene meant the drums are going to sound like a dethklok record.. cause the whole point of brendon's galaktikon was to have music that wasnt heavy enough to be a dethklok song, cause he likes melody, not just death metal.
Might be different for the second Galaktikon, though, since Brendon probably won't be making Dethalbums anymore.
That’s the best way to use pro tools. and when you’re done with it you can just toss all that gear, the MacBook Pro, and the Avid shit in the trash. Next song idea you get new shit.
E is the fifth scale degree of A, not the fourth.
It's the forth of you go down from a. A G F E
Circle of fourths
Really wanted vocals lol
He looks like Daniel Johns
BOSS ME-80 on deck
Dude, give me your hat lol❤
I groomed my blade handle to be goofy bros. no edged sticks, bros.
Digital metal...... you do not need a band anymore....
For some reason Brendon reminds me of Shia Leboeuf
omg Brendon looks weird with a beard
he looks like an american burzum
He's doing it all wrongs.
why Mr. Internet douchebag?
Jakobs Kraft Are you asking me? ...and calling me an internet douchebag?
ok either you are just a troll or it was a Metalocalypse reference. say why he is doing it wrong.
i thought that you were some smartass that thinks he can play better than Brendon Small.
yea yea screw you...
man shut the fuck up^^
he's good at what he does
He looks bummed out to be there. You Okay Brandon?
He sounds like Pickles!
this isn't metal enough
goes to show all the technical music knowledge in the world can't help write a good song
I thought Brendon was cooler than that. wearing camouflage anything.
