The double bass drumming reigns as the overall foundation/driver of the song in an awesome way. To me it comes across like the guitar/bass and vocals are a compliment to the drums in this song. (compared to the opposite scenario where the drums compliment/accentuate the main guitar riff of a song) I bet it was awesome to hear drumming like that back then when this was a brand new thing.
