OK. This made me cry. I was so touched how it affected you at the end. The words are truly beautiful. And so much my path as well. I remember being in Sunday school and the teacher telling me stupid things about God being a jealous God and vengeful and if we didn't say "In Jesus' name" at the end our prayers wouldn't come true and how a family prayed for their child and didn't say that and their child died. What B.S. I am so grateful to have a relationship with God and Spirit now that is true.:)

Faith I hope to see the end of that journey you've been on in my own life. I recently heard you perform at Long Beach Pride & have become a fan. Your statement prior to performing this means so much to me. I'm being still & learning to listen to the voice of God rather than religious leaders, tradition, fear & hatred. I started living as my authentic self the way God made me 18 months ago. I'm still fearful & uncertain at times, but know he is faithful and will reveal his holiness to me.

I find it a little surprising that so many Christians relate to this song when it refers to his (Peter Mayers) church upbringing as, ""heavens second rate hand me down". I always thought of this song as a growing beyond the primitive (superstitious) and often immoral stories of the bible and recognizing the Awe of everything. ---- "I believe in God, only I spell it Nature." - Frank Lloyd Wright --- Love the song!
