OK but when a car is on finance (PCP or even CS/HP) you can't modify it. When you buy a car with a bank loan, it's your car. So at least people owned their vehicles. Now it's literally just "get a car on PCP, stick a stage 1 tune on it, pull up to a show" and everyones car looks exactly the same. @@BazingaTing
Great video that brings me back, great to see that so many of them survived. Cant remember the last time i saw a Renault R5 of any kind let alone a twin engine one. Great stuff.
Nice video once again, and your right with the ‘old man rant’ there’s no creativity nowadays. I used too attend a lot of shows but lines and lines of Fiesta/Focus ST’s all the same, it was just getting 🥱
Man loved the video and that mk2 cav was wicked due to cost of living it's impossible now to follow my dream of building my own car I loved these retro cars especially saxos pugs ford escorts etc it great seeing some are still alive we were so lucky to live in a great car era
Bit harsh on the line of Focus STs tbh not everyone has the knowledge ability money space tools etc to build special cars like you can, most people into cars just buy the most decent car that they can afford and that's about as far as they can go. Anyway not trying to start an argument here your content is mint and show looked awesome.
You could at least change the std wheels, no? Doesn't take a degree in engineering or £1 million quid to do that.. Why would anyone go to a show where all the cars are the same?
I think it’s a fair point tbh, 20 years ago on a Sunday night, you would pull into McDonald’s and every car would be different. Half of the cars weren’t painted the same colours and had dodgy work but it’s a fair point to say people made an effort to be different with what they had
that Courtney sport nova is absolutely beautiful, for me park something like that or the gordini next to a Ferrari, I wouldn't even notice the Ferrari.
That’s brilliant. How do you find out about these shows? My brother and I have amazing Opel Mantas local to you if you would like to feature them on your channel. I love the max power stuff. I used to love the shows.
That gordini turbo and nova are stunning. In my opinion there are a lot there that should have been left in the 90’s nice for a bit of nostalgia though
I love the comment u said about stop being a sheep n following what ever one else is doing be creative and build something of ur own that to me is the hole point of being a true max power builder #built not bought
why would would you pay outright for a car? it doesnt make any sense what so ever in this day and age, even minted people with millions finance their cars
A real trip down memory lane there. I wish we still had the car scene like those days. Now there are the odd decent builds but almost the whole lot is a diesel with a remap or if you're really lucky a pcp special with an intake and exhaust. It used to be almost every street had something with a bodykit and an engine conversion but now it seems like people are so scared to make a statement they just don't bother and blend into the boring grey dross that cars have become.
90% of them were bodged up sheds though the only statement your making driving something like these around in this day and age is that you are a bit of a numpty got to be honest though i do enjoy seeing them still about for nostalgic reasons
Individualism. There are loads of Corsa's, Astra's, Fiestas and Escorts, so what are you going to do to yours to make it unique and stand out? That's what it (was) all about. Full resprays cost a lot, but if you love your car you would do it. Anyone could have a Saxo, but what if you had the fastest and best looking Saxo in the UK?
Back when the car scene was fun and not filled with finance and DSG farts.
You forgot remaps lol
you forgot "pops and bangs" remaps@@ashtonworth6288
Ofcourse It was full of finance back then... credit cards and bank loans built the cars ....

These weren't usually very quick. The fast ones were the exception. Now youngsters have way faster and cooler cars with less tacky mods, sorry
Miss these cars
Miss these times 😭
💯 percent agree with you.
Build it don't buy it.
No one likes a credit card car.
Dare to be different 👍‼️
Thank you so much for the kind words and footage of Project D Adam, look forward to telling you all about its wonderful story soon
Love your passion for retro/oldskool cars. Keep them coming.
Great video that brings me back, great to see that so many of them survived. Cant remember the last time i saw a Renault R5 of any kind let alone a twin engine one. Great stuff.
That Renault 5 Gordin turbo is absolutely gorgeous
I wish there were more of these car shows up and down the country, 80s early 90s car were the best
Just come across your channel. This video brings back some much needed nostalgia 😎
That was refreshing to travel back to that era. Thanks a bunch
Glad you enjoyed it

I love the comment u said about stop being a sheep n following what ever one else is doing be creative and build something of ur own that to me is the hole point of being a true max power builder #built not bought
id rather buy a proper car than build a bag of shite lol maybe im just old
Could listen to the max power history lessons all day long, gutted i missed it, but i wont next year
3;15 everybody is the same these days. Not many people own there cars outright people just finance there whole life in every aspect 😂
why would would you pay outright for a car?
it doesnt make any sense what so ever in this day and age, even minted people with millions finance their cars
Dont think everyone was trying to outdo each other think it was more personal touch
Love the early 2000s
I have a peugeot eccose biult 206 gti project just now
A real trip down memory lane there.

was alot of lush cars there
Anyone remember the green escort RS Turbo pick up with 2 RS Turbo engines?
Yea unfortunately it for broken up for parts an shell never got rebuilt. I spoke to the builder not long ago when tracking down old cars
@@TwinEngineCorsa 😩😩😩
id say the only car in this video which has stood the test of time is the green Nova... and I'm not a Vauxhall fan.
Couldn't agree more.. worst part of the entire show was the long line of Tic Tacs 3:10 👎👎👎 Nobody is interested.
People now a days get a 40 50k car on tick, stick a map on it and that's it.... wtf

The nova isn't the one you think. A16V TB is stil about but this isn't it
Some of the cars had stupid money spent on them
So many ugly cars. Hurry, burn them all, before they can escape.
I love cars, but I'm glad the "max power" era died, so much bad taste
