Nice the white one is the same as my old one although I obviously didn't have the turbo (woulda loved it if it had!) Even as standard they were surprisingly good. My mate bought a 2.0 8v and we raced (A120 again haha!) He was initially pulling away due to more torque but those 2.0s in the GTE seemed to run outta puff up the top end. So I soon leveled up and he was only just pulling away (although I think the 1.8 had a quoted top speed of 124mph and his 2.0 was 125mph I think) My 16v had an extra 10+mph on top. GTEs were a far from relaxing drive especially going well over 100mph, so I dread to think what a 300bhp would be like with a top end that's gotta be 150-160mph!

I'd love to know what happened to my old Mk II Car (Mattig body kit), and my old Mk II Van (full 16v Conversion) that I had also........ I sold BOTH of them - If I can find some time I'll dig out some Pics. The Car version I did had some Pretty RARE Irmsher parts, the trip computer in particular - This replaced the standard Clock in the Astra but since it was never released in UK the MPG was always in KM/?........... I did manage to source the outside temp sensor that (I seem to remember, sat in the front bumper) Love to hear more stories about the MK II's - A real passion of mine at the time.......

That’s interesting you say that about the trim. I had 3 mk2 GTEs and I can promise you they all left the factory with lovely grey trim, on bumpers, and sharks fin style side skirts ect, the only trim on the outside that was jet black was the rubber rub strip down the sides and door mirror bases. I always loved the grey trim.
you know back in the back..... someone lost a calibre 4x4 and never see it again. that's how it was back then. if it didn't have a Clifford alarm.....it was gone.
Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!!!
I used to have a white mk2 1.8l GTE was my favourite car ever let my so-called friend have a go he put it in the ditch was scrap I never seen him again didn't even say sorry
So sexy... here in South Africa we have Opel.. and they made the Opel Kadette here in place of Vauxhall Astra... In the older Generation we had the Kadette superboss.. 2.0 16v with sexy finishing.. Generation after we had the Kadette 200ts.. 2.0 16v turbo... Both of them very limited runs. I think just over 500 each.. Both cars were serious track and drag weapons.. see video on youtube called superboss king of the street.. But now they are scarce and so expensive...
Can anybody discribe me please why they use the german GTE (E is Einspritzer) in the UK and the german cars have the english GSI (I is injektion) on them.
My mate had one them back in the day, he Scared the shit out off my in it. Not cos the car was fast, he was, is a really bad driver, not a good mix! I the maxpower stuff, I was around a had every mag every month, even when I was in prison!!
I`m still waiting for someone in the UK with enough money...and passion for the brand to import a a South African Opel "Superboss"...out of the factory it would put any of these to shame on the street or on a track...

The Car version I did had some Pretty RARE Irmsher parts, the trip computer in particular - This replaced the standard Clock in the Astra but since it was never released in UK the MPG was always in KM/?........... I did manage to source the outside temp sensor that (I seem to remember, sat in the front bumper)
Love to hear more stories about the MK II's - A real passion of mine at the time.......
The mk2 van I remember was 16v and was all mad colours. Unsure if it’s the same one
Absolutely stunning pair off GTE'S really look nice only one thing I'd do the black one needs black trim like the white one but never the less stunning and it's not finished max power mags was my thing bk then ex girlfriend was left with a pile of fast car an max power all with there free stickers air freshners etc I was wounded leaving them but remember this green but the price I recall ent 2 pound summut 4 5 quid wen I finally stopped.great vid please keep em coming mate 🔥💯👍
Thank you mate👍
That’s interesting you say that about the trim. I had 3 mk2 GTEs and I can promise you they all left the factory with lovely grey trim, on bumpers, and sharks fin style side skirts ect, the only trim on the outside that was jet black was the rubber rub strip down the sides and door mirror bases. I always loved the grey trim.
Absolutely beautiful maybe in another life time yeah 😢
Love this content. Is it possible to review the cars from manta manta. The German film.
I miss my GTE and my 1.8 F reg SRI I had as my second car 3 months after passing my test ;p Then went onto a 205 gti. Take me back
Often wondered what happened to all the max power Cars
Car looks good Chris
Cheers Danny
Shout out to the mig Web boys 👌🏼
you know back in the back..... someone lost a calibre 4x4 and never see it again.
that's how it was back then. if it didn't have a Clifford alarm.....it was gone.
Mate bit gutted that uz didn't go out in them for us...... 😬😬😬😬
These were one of simple cars to steal when I was a teenager! Took a few of them people's driveways. Along with RS turbos and many more 😅
You should ask Jon at courtney sport how many was made
I thought the black one was a S.A opel superboss
My wet dream car back in the day ...soo 😎
Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county.
In rest of the world is Kadet but in UK is astra haha :)
It’s called Astra in Ireland aswell
I would love to film the cars with my FPV Drones. For Free. Would look Sick
Still beautifull 🎉
My biggest regret was selling my 1.8 Courtney C21JGS 😥
You should of gone out in the white one too
We did but the audio on the footage was terrible 👎
Quality old cars friends got one aswell belter totally standard only done 36 thousand miles
So sexy... here in South Africa we have Opel.. and they made the Opel Kadette here in place of Vauxhall Astra...
Sweet ❤
What bhp was the white car ?
Any news on the xr4i... ?
It’s coming pal, filmed a few weeks ago. Issue is we have to film so much to keep up with two videos a week they can take time to come around.
@@TwinEngineCorsa was the green astra ever in Leicester as I tried to buy one off front garden probably 12yrs ago or more cheers
I simply can't wait for that one.👍👍
Astra??? More a Kadett.. Yeah I know I know...
That sounds like a subaru
Can anybody discribe me please why they use the german GTE (E is Einspritzer) in the UK and the german cars have the english GSI (I is injektion) on them.
My mate had one them back in the day, he Scared the shit out off my in it.
Not cos the car was fast, he was, is a really bad driver, not a good mix!

Spot the draco biggest crimes against humanity
I know the smell you mean mate
I`m still waiting for someone in the UK with enough money...and passion for the brand to import a a South African Opel "Superboss"...out of the factory it would put any of these to shame on the street or on a track...
Probs a Stolen calibra and I’m sure wasn’t the best of swaps hence being completely rebuilt, rarest mk2 is the quicksilver
The wheels and the roof on the black one 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
I know a bloke that has a genuine irmscher astra gte he bought brand new from a local vauxhall dealer and its rusting away in his garage 💩
