In this weeks travel vlog, we continue our journey around the world and enter country number 16, Georgia.
We visit some thermal baths, an iron age cave town as well as Tbilisi.
About us...
Join us on our journey as we continue full time van life travelling around Europe in our self build / self converted Mercedes sprinter conversion camper van.
We are a family of 4 plus a German shepherd Dog and a rabbit that have left the UK to tour / travel Europe and beyond.
In December 2021 we got a 1 way ferry ticket across to Calais and darted through France straight to sunny Barcelona. We then worked our way around the Spanish coast including Gibraltar then into Portugal. We had hoped to get the ferry to Morocco to escape the Schengen zone but due to the ferry boarders staying closed to Spanish ferries, we decided to take the huge road trip to the first non Schengen country which was Croatia!
Along the way we visited Andorra, Monaco, Italy and Slovenia.
We stayed in Croatia for nearly 6 weeks before moving on to Montenegro for a week, then one of our favourite countries, Albania for 5 weeks.
We then took Kev on the ferry from Albania to Corfu to meet up with Lauras family for a week. We ended up staying in Corfu for 2 weeks but although its a fantastic holiday destination, we found it really hard for Van life. Being a small island it was very touristy and busy and there isn't many good park ups so we decided to hop back on the ferry and head to mainland Greece.
We spent a fantastic 2 weeks in Greece but by this point the weather was really starting to heat up and the temperature was reaching 40c which really isn't the one when living in a van...
We checked the weather for Bulgaria and it was a lot cooler so that was our next destination. Ritchies family flew out to see us and we spent a great 2 weeks with them. In total we stayed in Bulgaria for over 3 weeks but there was always 1 country on our mind and that's where we are now... The amazing Turkey!

Yes we were very lucky to have the thermal springs to ourselves, it doesn’t happen often 😅
I think the long columns we’re put in at a later date to support the structure, over time part of the structure has corroded and is not as strong as it use to be so extra supports have been built.
The queens home also had art work engraved on the ceiling, that was the only part with art work.
We paid a little extra for the wine tasting, I think it was an extra £5 but definitely worth it 🍷
Haha we would like to visit America one day, if the drivers in Georgia are as bad as Georgia EU, we will avoid it 😂

Yes Turkey seems to be good for everything and you can find everything you need.
Campervans aren’t very popular in Georgia and there are no campervan supply shops.
It would take 2 weeks to get the water pump delivered so we had to cross back into Turkey and we got it within 2 days 🙌

Hi Richie and Laura hope you are all well, see you get your gas bottle filled in the vlog, can you tell me is it just a normal gas bottle that we have in the uk ? As thought you could not get gas in Europe with English gas bottles many thanks and keep the great vlogs coming all the best for the future regards dave
Hi Dave,
Yes we just have a standard calor gas bottle. We bought a set of adaptors from Amazon so we can refill it in any country at any LPG pump.
A lot of people say you shouldn’t refill calor bottles but as long as you only fill to 80% it will be fine.
2L of gas is roughly 1kg so for our 3.9kg bottle, we put 6L in.
We haven’t had a problem filling up throughout the 16 countries we have visited over the past 9 months and it works for us
Great video guys, I'm curious about your LPG set up? It was a standard gas bottle? Are you running a compressor fridge? We are in the process of selling up and hitting the road, might catch up in the future :)

Yes we have 2x propane bottles that we rotate in a gas locker.
We bought some adaptors before we left home so we can fill them up at any lpg station.
A lot of people don’t recommend it but it’s worked for us for the past 10 months.
We just fill them up 80% so in a 3.9kg bottle we put 6L in.

Amazing to have those natural springs to yourselves! We thought we were lucky in Spain as there was only about 25-30 people there 🤣 The cave town looks incredible too, love the mystery or historical sites like that. The driving of the locals would get on my wick a bit I reckon though. And road roads sounded rough on the video from inside the van, lovely park ups there - you still using Park4Night? 😊
Tell me about it! We never have things to ourselves normally so it was lovely 😅 We really liked Georgia and the people are lovely but as soon as they get behind the wheel, the turn into lunatics 😂
It’s the 1 thing that put us off there, most of the cars haven’t got bumpers where they have obviously crashed so it was quite nice to get out with Kev in 1 piece still, apart from the leaf spring 😂
