I wasn't sure what I did to my jaw but it was a week ago, I had took a nap and when I woke up, my right jaw was hurting. I could barely take a bite of what I was eating and it even hurt pretty bad when I sneezed. After two or 3 days later, I went to the dentist to get my jaw looked at, and they didn't find anything broken. The only thing they told me is was to put a cold pack or take ibuprofen for pain and to reduce swelling. After that my ear started hurting, and my husband checked my ear, but I don' t think I have an ear infection. I probably will get my ear checked at some point, and the only thing I could think of was that I either hurt my jaw by grinding my teeth unknowingly, or I twisted my muscle in sleep, which I do sleep on my right side, and I have twisted my side muscle before! As for the ear pain, I'm not too sure why it's hurting, but I do know that TMJ does affect the ear as well!
🙏Whenever there is a problem with TMJ or mouth opening, chewing food, you would like to tell you from experience that while eating food, keep equal amount of food on both sides of the tooth inside the mouth and chew it slowly or eat soft food, hard things like Do not use copra, gram, brackish etc., exercise the mouth daily before going to sleep at night and after waking up in the morning and keep taking protein and calcium in the diet and be happy.

I had clicking noise in my jaw for 30 years. It suddenly went away and I can’t open my mouth or eat without pain. Is this for a dentist, ENT dr, or dental surgeon to diagnose. Can anything be done?
Look into prolotherapy or PRP. It’s regenerative medicine. It tightens the loosened ligaments that keep the disc and joint stabilized. If you no longer have popping the disc may have displaced fully and cannot go back in. This is due to ligaments loosening over time due to trauma or faulty mechanics over the years.
Yo did you get it checked? Same happened with me. My right side was clicking and opening but it has stop clicking now and if I try to open my mouth it is hurting inside my ear. Let me know if you get it checked 😭
I went to physical therapy which helped. Had a bone scan of my jaw. I was doing red light therapy which seemed to be helping. The ENT was a waste of time. The DMD prescribed the PT. I most likely have this as well, and I'm experiencing ear pain right now. I've read some studies that says Voltaren cream helps. This cream is meant for arthritis, but it seems to afford some relief when applied slightly to the jaw point right in front of the ear.
I'm experiencing the same symptoms. Did it disappear? Or you took over the counter meds?
@@waterbear1337 it just dissapeared lol. I'm glad because it hurt pretty bad!

I went to ENT. Referred to ENT surgeon.
He was kind of dismissive. I have an appt Thursday with an oral surgeon who goes implants and tmj. His office closed for a week when one of his staff was sick and he called me himself to reschedule. We had a great phobe chat so I am looking forward to this appt. so we shall see.
Off to new DMD tomorrow. I am hopeful

I most likely have this as well, and I'm experiencing ear pain right now. I've read some studies that says Voltaren cream helps. This cream is meant for arthritis, but it seems to afford some relief when applied slightly to the jaw point right in front of the ear. It used to be prescription, but is available over the counter now. I've been using it for the last few weeks, and it does seem to help with the pain and the inflammation. Good luck. I have PTSD and my muscle tension has caused me to get this and it got so bad last weekend that I began to lose my hearing in my left ear and heard a ringing. I can feel and the popping it but it doesn’t hurt yet. Is there something I should do before hand so I don’t feel as much pain?
I don't know if I'm experiencing this TMJ properly as shown here, I only get pain from putting pressure on my Jaw upward, not downward, I can talk, eat, and yawn just fine.
