  • It was another good day with an abundance of fish brought to the nest! M is on the attic after delivering a fish and feeding the E's when Harriet is seen in the distance approaching the nest! What a beautiful flight as she flies in to the nest carrying a fish in her talons! E18 is right there in position to grab a few bites - E17 gives a bonk but after a few minutes of being a bit shy, E18 starts to chow down and gets a great feeding by Mom! Beautiful closeups of E17 sleeping and views of pin feathers coming in! Thank you for watching!
Video captured & edited by Lady Hawk
Thank you SWFEC , hosted by Dick Pritchett Real Estate, for allowing us the opportunity to view these amazing eagles.

Yay! E18 gets to eat! E17 continues to peck at 18’s back & wing. This isn’t bonking, it’s grabbing & pecking. E17 has a full crop & isn’t even hungry. In my book E17 is officially a poopy-face!

Exactly go to another area of the nest and leave sibling alone, Really does look like she doesn’t want anything going to 18, geez. If this is just survival of the fittest, it’s very disturbing and ruthless

@@seabreeze7378 hey as long as e18 isnt getting hurt and eating then its 👍👍 in my book! E17 does seem to be getting better about it though. I dont like seeing it personally BUT e17 is preparing little e18 for LIFE IN THE REAL WORLD. its e17 that will have the problems when she encounters a bigger, stronger eagle or any other bird of prey bc that day is surely coming. @melindamasi3505 4 года назад

@@judithryle2113 It's a hot-button issue for sure: are eaglets mean like we ascribe meanness to human kids? I'm glad you mentioned it Judith, cuz it's something that I have a strong but different opinion about too. In human children meanness)bullying is almost always considered to be learned behavior, not instinct. Most things I've read about birds attribute young birds' aggression to instinct. I did see one study that found young birds (a breed of booby) that were bullied by unrelated adults were more likely to be bullies as adult birds, which suggests aggression in birds can be learned behavior.
Still, I can't think of baby eaglets being mean; I think it's hardwired. Of course it's just my opinion, I'm no expert! 🙆🏽‍♀️

Where is that fish supply thing? Is it another lake nearby or just this pond next door? 🤔🏞️⛲
E17 looks excellent when in sitting position 😆

It’s Yonder Pond across the road, I think. But as the eagle flies, there may be other places to fish nearby..I am not sure.

Is that the cat's head across from where mom is feeding R18.

Seriously, E17, you need to stop with that attitude already! 😠 I feel like ‘beak’ E17 back and see how she feels when she does that to poor E18.

Is the "cat head" still there? Did they consume or through it overboard?

Yuk I hope it's thrown overboard.

i still hate to see 18 so furtive when she eats. can't be good for nervous system or digestion! i was rooting for her to move to the other side of mom and get out of the line of fire. someday soon.

No way E18 got full off those little pieces being offered. Is that greedy dad?
